Evidence of where Take 5 zip tied my skid plate up instead of putting the bolts back into my skid plate.

The worst oil change check/service I have gotten. I usually go to the Take 5 on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas and have exceptional service. I have since moved from Dallas into Irving and decided to go and get my oil changed here at the Irving location. It turns out per the technician Samantha my car didn't need an oil change, but they decided to go under my car and undo the skid plate as well as open up my hood to check the fluids anyways. Car Maintenance 101 - What comes in the shop and on a car, should leave on the car! PERIOD!!! The technicians zip tied the bottom of my skid plate up to my car instead of taking the time to grab the bolts that I heard drop during her work below my car. I visited the shop 09/26 1:30pm-2pm (Blue Honda Civic) and had a technician named Samantha work on my car. Samantha zip tied my skid plate on instead of putting the bolts on the car that were there. As it is COVID and I'm working from home, I don't drive much and didn't hear or notice this until Friday, 10/02, when I drove my car out of my driveway and was hearing something drag against the ground. Come to find out, it was a zip tie! I went back the following weekend on 10/03 approximately 9:30-10am and the manager David was very very skeptical of what I had to say and kept saying he was getting two different stories between my story and Samanthas. First off, please teach your managers that the customer is always right. Especially an angry customer whom comes back to the shop and wastes their precious time trying to get this issue fixed. We review the security footage during the time she worked on my vehicle and it is true, she did zip tie my skid plate up, it is evidenced by her going under my vehicle and asking another technician to bring her zip ties. This was very UNPROFESSIONAL and I will not be visiting Take 5 ever again! David the manager ended up making it right and putting the bolts back on my skid plate and on my car at approximately 1:15-2pm on 10/03, but between him and Samantha, they were both very sketchy and I honestly should have received at least 2-3 free oil changes for the amount of time I had to visit the shop to get this issue resolved. I say they were very sketchy bc David was actually wanting me to pay for the bolts and they never gave me any receipts for anything they did to my car both visits. Granted, I did not buy anything, but the hush hushness of her zip tying up my skid plate and him wanting me to pay for the Honda skid plate bolts and not believing me over Samantha made this situation very awkward. Time is money and I had to go to the shop multiple times on 10/03 to get this fixed bc David bought the wrong screws, took me to the Oreilly Auto Parts next door which didn't have them, and I had to take a trip in his car to the Honda shop in Irving to get the right ones. I will say this was very unprofessional and I hope Corporate looks into this. I am writing this review so that others know that if they find zip ties underneath their car, go back to the last place you got an oil change. It is WRONG! Be on the lookout!

I've always known Valvoline Instant Oil Change as the place where you pull up, wait in your car for…read morea few minutes to get a speedy oil change, and then off you go. That's what Valvoline used to be. Now, it's nothing short of a gamble as to how long your wait will be as you sit behind what is essentially someone else's auto dealership service visit. The Valvoline wait problem is real. 45+ minute wait for a single oil change - it's inexcusable. It's easy to think this location's technicians are either incredibly slow, selling too much - or both. I really believe though that this is a situation in which Valvoline, Inc. can't get its branding and workflow right and that locations like this are at the mercy of having to sell more services for profit while in the process sacrificing the speed Valvoline promises as a brand. It makes sense: Offer an 18-point service check, find other vehicle issues, and upsell. But that's not who you've been as a brand, and continue to promote yourself to be, Valvoline. The name of your location is, "Valvoline Instant Oil Change." So you make more money with more repair services and I'm all for getting work done so I'm safe behind the wheel - but that's not why I go to Valvoline. I go there to get an oil change quickly and get out. There is no reason why I should choose Valvoline for extended service repairs like flushes given that auto dealers and other auto repair shops have stepped up their waiting areas with more comfort and amenities. In the amount of time it took yesterday to get my oil change at Valvoline sitting in my car, I could have booked online with my auto dealer and gotten multiple things fixed while relaxing comfortably in its waiting area with coffee and snacks, or working on my computer being productive with high-speed internet. I still need some other service done according to my Valvoline check but after the wait for the oil change and then the service itself, I had no interest. The guy in front of me got an oil change, new filter, and, lo and behold, there was something wrong with his gas tank knob! I hope they got as much money from him as they could while the rest of us waited and waited and waited. Michael, my service technician, acknowledged the wait, but didn't apologize for it, nor did he offer any make-good. I'm sure that's because he didn't think there was anything wrong - it was just busy. That is the problem: His job is to sell and fix no matter how long it takes. Hopefully, the Valvoline bosses above him will stop getting their wires crossed and help him do a better job of that with branding, and workflow and logistical changes. Soon - if not instantly. Also..how did an oil change in general go from $19.99 to $80 in, like, 5 minutes?

Absolutely horrible! I'll start by saying that I manage many…read moreof our company cars, so I've been to many Firestone locations in various cities. I have never had an experience as bad as this one. The person I assume to be the manager, 'Dustin', is the poorest representative of a company that I could imagine. I brought a car in for 2 tire sensors and a headlight.. same headlight they fixed less than 2 months ago. I called before coming and Dustin told me they could get the sensors done in about 2 hours; that they were slow at this time. I took him at his word and showed up 20 minutes later. In dropping the car off I asked again the time to complete the job. He said it should be done in 2 to 3 hours. Though he had extended by an hour, I was still okay with this. It is now 4 1/2 hours later and I am still waiting for them to finish. He also added that a 3rd sensor didn't work. Odd, because the other 2 sensors registered just fine before coming in here. Now that I'm waiting in their store, I'm not even asking for them to fix the headlight they reported (and charged me for) fixing before. I just want to get this car and get out of here. When I asked Dustin, his only other comment to me is that I could just get my car and take it somewhere else.. really?? What a poor response for a place that should focus on customer service, right?? Dustin left around 4:30 and the Service Manager, Ashton, was left to deal with all of the messes Dustin made. I will say that Ashton was very nice and tried his best to untangle the messes made before him. He did give me his card, but there were no others available. I will add that I 100% feel that I was charged for parts that were not replaced. I will be escalating this to Firestone corporate, as well as verifying with a local Ford dealership. I think it's also important to note that in every Firestone location I've been to there are business cards out for everyone, including the manager. There are no business cards out at this location. Coincidence?? I think not!
