Absolutely amazing experience!! My friends and I were a bit confused at first because there was no host to greet us so we weren't sure how things worked, but we finally found someone that worked there and they clarified the process for us. Long story short, you walk in, find a table, place your order using your phone, pay, and then someone brings your food to your table. It's simple and easy and I loved it! The staff and people there were friendly, the food was amazing, and we just had a lovely time! This was a quick stop for lunch and it definitely made an impact. I'd absolutely come back. P.S. we were able to watch the F1 race on the TV and it was really exciting! Def high energy and fun; felt like I was a local cheering for the home team! read more

My sister and I came here with some members of the group we are traveling with. She tried the fish and chips and I got a chicken dish I can't recall the name of. I'll come back and update if I can find it. I'm not sure how to compare my experiences yet because this is my first time in London. I don't know what is normal culturally or my own American expectations. So I think for now instead of focusing on my usual rating scale for cleanliness, food freshness, quality, service, and ambiance I'm just going to focus on food flavor, freshness, and quality. The chicken dish I got was epic in flavor! I'm just bummed that my phone isn't working great here and I couldn't load the menu or allergens. I ended up having to strip my chicken of the coating and picking off as much of the meat as possible praying I didn't get any of the coating. Why? Because I signed a waiver that I didn't have any allergies because I couldn't load the menu and no one was coming to our table at all!! Unless you ordered off the menu, NO ONE CAME! See? Not sure how to rate that! Is that normal here? If I was considering service I would definitely be dropping my rating but for food. I'll give it 4 stars. read more

Stopped in after a long overnight flight. My sister and I were originally put off by the lack of table side service at the pub but apparently that is normal here. We had the steak and ale meat pies and thought them to be tasty. Though everything else on the plate needed salt lol. Beer was good but not great. This place was recommended to us by a tour guide. We asked where we could get delicious fish and chips. He told us to go to his local Irish bar and get some Guinness. After the server greeted us at the door and said to take a table anywhere we sat for ten minutes waiting for someone to come to the table. Finally we realized that you had to go up to the bar to place your order and pay. Food was good, service not so much. While at London St. Pancras Train Station, which is an amazing architectural building, but that's another review! I noticed a this Pub across the street and thought I'd grab a Pint. Now, like most folks when the weather is nice, you stand outside and enjoy the weather. However, the staff must've been short-handed because the wait for a Pint took awhile. I walked in and felt the tension and pressure of the bartender to serve many and quickly. Honestly, there really wasn't much to this Pub in comparison to many others, but I did get to catch a few minutes of the Chelsea match and loved the excitement of the patrons. read more

The food is hit or miss, but it's a good spot for groups- plenty of brews, lots of tables and TVs, and most booths have outlets for charging your devices. We tried a few beers and shared the bangers and mash and a sticky toffee pudding. Bangers exceeded expectations and had a solid accompanying gravy, but the STP went unfinished- their version is plated in a pool of custard and drizzled with an artificial-tasting toffee sauce that was just way too sweet. Nice pub with a welcoming atmosphere, very convenient for a quick dinner or a drink after work. The pub is usually busy but it is big and well set out so it still feels roomy and is easy to find a free table, except when they are playing live music. It is open till late and they serve food till 10 pm. The room upstairs feels more like a restaurant. They take the order at your table and bring both the food and drinks to you. Downstairs you have to order, pay and collect your drinks at the bar. They serve a bit of everything, from burgers to jacket potatoes to more traditional pub food and Sunday roasts and the portions are usually of a good size. Desserts are 2x1 and, even for me that I love a sweet treat too much, massive! The service is attentive without being overbearing and the food is good. Overall a good value for money place to eat. read more

Acceptable food at a good price just across the road from King's Cross station. Such a better option than staying in the hustle and bustle of the train station. Food is on the better side of average, though you can tell there's a certain reliance on microwaves and deep fat fryers. The Southern Fried Chicken I had tasted good, was very hot, but a tad greasy. I was in a bit of a rush and wanted to mark Kings Cross of the list of pubs to visit (even though there is actually one inside the station, though I didn't go and look for it). This is basically one of those chain pubs, and the thing that makes me like it even less is that they don't even give it an original name. Well, at least you know what you are going to get when you come here, so it does have one benefit over chain pubs that tend to keep the original names. It also means that if you see it, and you don't like chain pubs, then you can go somewhere else (though as I had mentioned I didn't have much time, and this is a pub, so it suited me just fine). As for a pub it was okay, nothing hugely fantastic, but then again I was starting to feel that way about a lot of London's pubs. Hey, at least it serves beer, though the problem is that it happens to be English Beer. read more

Good selection, good food. I got the chicken sandwich with no bun (so basically a piece of chicken on veggies) and the chicken was flavorful and delicious. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. Their coffee was HORRIFIC but I mean I'm the asshole ordering coffee in a pub so frankly I'm gonna blame myself for that one. Busy on a Friday night, but service was pretty timely considering how slammed they were. Also really convenient walking location to my hotel. Probably wouldn't come back if it was out of the way, but all in all it was an enjoyable experience. read more

So I went out for a Rabble fitness event that was a part of the amazing community that is Yelp and after, I was so exhausted (I know this is not a review about Rabble, but it was great) so we stopped here, I had a jacket potato, cheese and curly fries (they gave me the curly fries for free :) The staff were very friendly and the food came out quick, the only problem was the tablet were dirty. Let the whole experience down a little. Myself and a couple of famished friends frequented this bar after an exhausting day in the hopes of grabbing some grub before heading home. It was 10pm and we were slightly worried we may have missed the kitchen, but they serve food until 11pm!! Huzzah! There's plenty of seating here with great spaces for groups, for anyone considering visiting with a group. The food prices are really good, I opted for a super stacked burger and beer, which had EVERYTHING in it; grilled portobello mushroom, beef burger, sausages, bacon and an egg. This cost just over £11, absolute bargain. It wasn't a michelin meal by any means of the word but the portions sizes were great and you can't beat the value for money. The menu is huge, so if you're dying of starvation and like me are unable to make your mind up in such circumstances, then you're going to struggle. Their menu is akin to spoons in sense of variety, albeit a few more fancy sounding bits. Great selection for vegetarians out there. I only know this because I was with one, personally I go straight to the meat sections, but hey ho. The staff here are also all really lovely, super helpful and smiles all round. Yes this is a chain pub. The location is very convenient to the train station for those with time to kill, the menu is one that you know will not change, the drinks of standard quality (if slightly watered down), and the staff are friendly. Not a pub I would go out of my way for as the tables are sticky, the toilet a bit rough around the edges, and again the drinks are watered down. If you are a tourist I highly recommend visiting pubs other than a chain in order to get a better experience, but if you are stuck on time and need to find a place to meet for an informal pint this works just fine read more

Right opposite St Pancras station, this is a very busy branch of O'Neills indeed. It is otherwise typical of its breed of Oirish pub, which Oirish writing and themes, though mostly European staff. The pub is cavernous, but nevertheless usually packed. There are high stools and lower tables, and the inside is multilevel, though not by much - a couple of steps here, a couple of steps there. You don't come to O'Neills for real ale. There is a good selection of lagers, however, both on draught and bottles, and of course a range of Guinness brews. Wine is also available, as are the interestingly coloured bottled drinks and spirits. The food menu is massive, but it's very similar to a Weatherspoons - burgers, chicken burgers, and platters. The food is edible, but unremarkable. There is the inevitable TV in the corner, though not always playing sport. The pub is very loud, as it's all hard surfaces and very crowded. It is a handy place to meet people near Kings Cross St Pancras, but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

While studying in London, my friends and I would come to O'Neills on Euston for an occasional meal or drink. The food is definitely affordable - I don't think I paid more than £7 each time I was here. However, the quality is only so-so. I remember ordering fish and chips here and although every was perfectly edible, both the fish and the chips seemed to have been cooked from a frozen package. For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding is actually pretty tasty, especially if you request it with English custard. If I were still in London, I would probably come back now and again. read more

This is a very handy pub for me, as I work in the British Library opposite. The staff are very friendly and they remember their regulars. If you do visit, watch out for a waitress/bar person called Emma, she is very fast at bringing your food to the tables and although she is small in stature, she has the biggest smile I've ever seen. Has a wheelchair toilet, but has steps to get in and out of the pub. Update: The manager mentioned that she was going to have a competition for the 'Best Irish Stew'. We sat in the dimly-lit upstairs bar, where the one bartender and one waitress dealt quite quickly and good-naturedly with the large crowd - rating stars just for them. This O'Neills is very clean and had an incredible location sitting right outside the Kings Cross section. The food here was very good and the service was fantastic. My friends and I get burgers there and they are fantastic. You do have to pay a pound extra for cheese which is crazy excessive. Should be free. The lunchtime prices are also spectacular which you don't see that often around here. read more

I can make a better steak at home and I can't make a steak for shit. In other words, this was the worst sirloin steak I've ever had. Add to that it was probably 15 minutes after I sat at the table that I was asked for my order (including drink), the (mostly) horrible music on the (absolutely) horrible sound system and this goes down as one of the worst decisions I made on my visit to London. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because it stays open (and serves food) later than other pubs in the area. And that counts for something when you're hungry from drinking all day and having expended your last bits of energy on a bike ride around the park. But screw off with your shitty music and even shittier speakers. I think it's time for me to leave. read more

This chain pub is in a good location - near the King's Cross St. Pancras station and the British Library. We went for lunch on a weekday around 1:00 and it was very busy but we managed to find a table and ordered at the bar. The lunch menu was a great deal price-wise. The food took a long time to arrive, probably because they were slammed. I had the Chicken & Mushroom Crockpot which was ok... bland and greasy and I couldn't find any mushroom "essence" to speak of. I was ok with it though because I just wanted some warm comfort food. My husband had the Sausages & Colcannon which looked really good. The ladies' toilet was shabby and smelled like urine. It could use a good fix and cleanup. For Americans, I would compare this to an Applebee's or something like that. It worked for us at the time and place but I wouldn't hurry back. read more

It has 2 floors, so despite having usually many clients, there is always space for somebody else. They have good food, more options than other O'Neill's have; and of course, Irish beers. I especially like Red Guinness, less bitter but still very tasty. And if you are really interested in different beers, they have a promotional pack of 4 of their specialities for a low price. read more

We have dined at O'Neill's at Kings Cross/St Pancras 3 times now. Each time we arrive in London, it's our favorite place to unwind with a pint and a nice bite to eat. The staff have always been more than accommodating and we even emailed the corporate office at different times requesting ingredient listing, and they replied immediately! (Huge thank you to Karen & Tom!!!) Our children always ask for the fish n chips, as it's not something commonly served where we live. My husband and I are fans of the stew, sandwiches, and jacket potatoes washed down with an ice cold cider and ale. The prices are some of the best in London! They do offer lunch specials with a drink (beer, soda, wine, etc) The downstairs is more of the pub area, while upstairs is quieter with more families seated. They also offer outdoor seating so you can watch the world go by, as it's a busy area located directly across the street from St Pancras and Kings Cross. Definitely recommended. read more

We have eaten here three times on our trip and each meal has been great. The service is prompt and friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. If you are staying near the Kings Cross/St Pancras area it is very convenient. The upstairs dining room is a quiet alternative to the traditional pub atmosphere. read more
