Good food and good service! It was pretty busy when my family and I came in late one evening after checking into our hotel down the street. We grabbed a table and then went up to order. The food and drink selection are both great! The bartenders were very attentive and our food came out quickly. We all had the fish and chips-huge serving and delicious! Nice neighborhood bar, offering g food and good selection of beers and beverages. You find a table, look at the menu, then go to the bar to order your food and drinks. Its pay as you order and they'll deliver the food to your table. The buffalo wings, fried calamari was good, came with a side salad with thi tasty vinaigrette. For main we ordered chicken leek pie was delish, fish and chips (huge portion) needed a bit of salt but cooked perfectly, and bangers mash was good. If you haven't had bangers (sausages) in England it's a softer consistency than an American one. It doesn't have that snap and the center is not as solid, but it tasted good can taste the herb. The mashed potatoes was tasty too, the gravy was thick. For dessert we got the sticky toffee pudding which was just okay for me. I've had better ones, but it could be because the other ones had more sauce with cake? Don't get me wrong it was good but it reminded me of a lighter version of sticky toffee pudding. The ambiance was good, we had my almost 2 yr old nephew with us for dinner and was there close to closing time. It was great to be in a bar and chill out talk in London. The bartenders were nice and our food came out in a timely manner. read more

Fish n chips is the must when visiting London. But, we think we shouldn't leave until we try meat pies and old English style pubs. This came up from the search, less than half mile away from our room. We walked in and it's already busy. Not like the American style that someone will come take your order or take your to a table. You find a table, grab a menu, go to the bartender when you are ready to order. Staff was super friendly and helped me a lot when it came to choose beer and dessert. We had two meat pies (chicken and beef), one local cider and one local beer as well as bread pudding with custard. Everything was delicious. We felt this was the highlight of our 3-day visit. read more

Very reasonably priced (many mains around £8), within a comfortable, traditional feeling interior. It wasn't overwhelmingly loud, even with the Euro 2016 match playing, and the service was quite efficient. An unassuming British Pub on a side street in St. Pancras. You order at the bar and good luck finding a table on Friday night. But can I just say... their shrimp appetizers was SO DELICIOUS...and that aioli that came with it is making me salivate talking about it now. we came here right when it opened at noon. the place was almost empty but the food was delicious. we had the steak and ale pie with mash potatoes and the bangers and mash. the pie was super flaky on the outside and the steak was very tender. the mash potatoes were very flavorful. for dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding which tasted very moist and cake-y. bonus points for seeing our food appear from inside a dumb waiter, which is hidden in a pillar in front of the bar. highly recommend this place. read more

This was by far the best experience my husband and I had in the 4 days we spent in London. Our only regret is that we did not find it on our first night but thankfully found it on our last. The Fish and Chips was the best we've ever had (Thank you Margaret)! The Manager Craig was super attentive to ensure our food and drinks were to our liking. He also educated us on the local craft beer scene and was super knowledgeable of micro breweries around the World! Terrance one of the bar staff, was so friendly and made us feel right at home by engaging and genuinely caring about who we were as people. Lastly, we now have new best friends (and Brothers) from Bedford who rounded out our UK experience. An average London ale pub really. Looks relatively old fashioned inside and out. The pub is clearly tied or owned by Greene King, but has Wandle on tap so you are not completely limited to their beers. There are better places in the area, but if you find yourself here you'll be alright. read more

I really like this pub. When meeting friends around Kings Cross for a brief encounter before they jump upon trains to the Home Counties, i always get us to congregate here. It is a little off the beaten track, just on the left off of Euston Rd, and the pub sits inconspicuously on the corner f the road. The interior is warm and cosy, and they serve food at lunchtime and in the evenings. I am told their sausage and mash is amazing, but I'm always disappointed with their vegetarian options. They have good outside seating, which means it's perfect for a summers day. The pub also has a beautiful Victorian ceiling. read more

First day in London we stopped in her for lunch--fabulous and very real. Had a great homemade tomato roasted red pepper and parsley soup on a chilly day (yes you could def taste the parsley), followed by leek and chicken pie with chips. Companion had the dish & chips. Great crisp chips, great battered fried fish, and savory pie filling with light puff pastry top. Side salad was nice with good dressing that tasted homemade. When we were in London, we are at the Skinners Arms twice. The food was delightful and well priced. The wife fell in love with the Chicken and Mushroom pie. I had the bangers and mash and the Salmon. Delish!!! To top it off, the staff was accommodating and fun. Great to chat with whilst waiting for a drink. Not sure you could do this on a busy night though. Their beer selection was fairly good as well. Look forward to going back to London and visiting the Skinners Arms again!!! read more

I'm visiting from the U.S. and was looking for a classic pub supper to finish off a long day of sightseeing. I stumbled in here after learning that the other two places I stopped don't serve food on Saturdays. I'm sure glad that I did: good food, good beer, and friendly staff. You probably won't be disappointed. Bonus points because it's so close to King's Cross that it took me less than five minutes to walk from my seat in the pub to my seat on the train. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer. This is a decent pub (and I would add, a country mile better than ersatz 'Oirish' places like O'Neills on the Euston Road) and a good safe bet - but certainly not outstanding. The main problem with it is that it is so busy, I think I have failed to get a seat on any of the three evenings I have tried it. There are better pubs within walking distance, but for proximity to Kings Cross / St. Pancras, this is an acceptable option. read more
