Part of the Greene King pub chain that you'll find all around London, especially downtown. They all have similar menus and beer lists. While nothing spectacular, at least you always know what you're getting. There's a decent craft beer selection, and the food is good, better than you would likely get at most bars. I got the fried scampi, not bad, came with chips and peas, a good value. Plenty of places to sit and many TVs with sports matches on. Located right across from Victoria Station. We just came in for a pint as it is located right next to our hotel. Staff behind bar was attentive but not friendly. Took my beer over to a table and it was sticky as was the table next to us. Apparently they must not clean them too often. There were two other high top tables occupied at the time. Drank my beer quickly and left. read more

As many reviews said, great traditional English Pub. I feel like this location & vibes are perfect for tourists that are craving fish n chips in a comfortable setting, yet upon being here I could also tell there were many regulars at the bar. It's the kind of place that works for everyone and speaks of the fact that it's worth a visit. Service: 4 stars- order at the bar counter if your sitting near the bar area, doesn't take much for the waitress to punch in your order and drop it off at your table but she was friendly. Order was correct and you pay as you order so you can be in and out quick. Food: 4.5 stars- pretty large menu. Something for everyone and at a good price. I of course went with the small cod and chips, great. Large piece of fish given I ordered the "small plate". Fish was perfectly fried, crispy, and the fries were good too. Tartar sauce was meh, I'm a huge sauce person but regardless the meal was still great. Cocktails: 5 stars, large selection and my Primms cup cocktail with muddled mint and fruit was better then I'd had it at other venues. Overall great little pub, nothing more nothing less. This pub was located right beside the hotel we were staying at and each night we had to weave our way through the punters drinking beers out on the sidewalk to get to our hotel. We stopped in here for dinner one night and opted for the Banger's 'n Mash and the Big Ben Burger. The Bangers 'n Mash were pretty standard fare with port sausages, mashed potatoes topped with an onion chutney and smothered in gravy. Quite good and definitely filling! The Big Ben Burger came with a 6oz beef burger, bacon, cheddar cheese, a fried egg and topped with two onion rings! Almost too much to eat be very tasty! It's quite an active place and there were a lot of people have a really good time. The food was great and the service was quick so that might explain it! read more

The Victoria is a pretty good pub with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It's great place to grab a quick pint and stretch out after a long day of walking and touring around. The crowd was a mixed bag, from business people, to couples, to tourists and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The music was mix of 80's and newer rock & pop which was prefect. We also decided to eat here and that turned out to be a solid move. We got a big plate of fish and chips and a burger and everything was quite good. This is a deceptively large and very popular pub, just opposite the west side of Victoria station. It serves real-ales (not a bad choice, actually) and food, the quality of both of which is OK, but not outstanding. Service is similarly OK - but it gets absolutely packed out on Friday lunchtimes and evenings, with a mix of tourists, office workers (very popular with the 20-35 age group) and other commuters, grabbing a quick pint on their homeward journey. At such times I find it too claustrophobic for my taste, though it's more relaxed in the afternoons and at week-ends. read more

My parents and I ate here just before we went to see Billy Elliot at the theatre down the road. The pub was pretty packed with buisness types letting loose after a day of work but it was easy enough to order. My dads fish and chips weren't bad but I wouldn't probably order my bangers and mash again. HOWEVER I RECCOMENED: The FLAFEL BURGER (which my mom had which was good), and the frozen yogurt desert which was pretty bomb after having a beer. My family and I had a nice meal before they theatre and met some friendly people who sat at the table next to us. All in all it was a good experience but I gave them three stars because it was a little PRICEY for a beer.... but hey I guess they can charge whatever they want when they have fancy buisness people buying.... and I didn't have to pay this time so I shouldn't really be complaining either.... oh well.... read more

Location was everything when it came to visiting this pub as it was located next door to my hotel. It must be popular with the locals because there were plenty there every night and since it was warm, they spilled out onto the streets. I ordered the steak pie with an au jus. The rim of the pie was nice and crunchy while the top and bottom were a but softer. Wonderful flavor and the meat inside had the right amount of sauce to keep everything moist. The au jus came in handy too, especially with the mashed potatoes which I found to be a bit gummy. The peas and carrots were cooked to perfection, I.e. Al dente and since I was craving some vegetables, they hit the spot. Can't say much about the beer as I had a glass of wine which was an Italian Pinot Grigio that I ordered a big ole glass of. Would have given between A-OK & Yeah I am a Fan. Group of 6 Ladies who had stayed overnight & walked up to the Palace stop for refreshments & some had food, I did not. £9.90 for 2 pints of Fosters. You should check out the Royalty Family Tree on the wall to the right as you go to the toilets, interesting. We were sat near the door & some ladies said there was a drainy smell every so often, I didnt smell it, but will admit sense of smell is not great. Came here last night for a quick half and a chat with some friends. To me this is pretty much the stand Central London pub - it's busy, it has a good atmosphere and does some food. The staff were friendly when I asked what type of cider they had on tap as I couldn't see anything as they were obviously good at their jobs as despite the number of people in the bar, there wasn't much of a queue. So yeah, this is a perfectly reasonable choice if you're looking for a pub in the Victoria area. read more

We ended up here several times, first when we were trying to find our hotel, and stopped in for refreshment. The bartender helped us revise our directions and was really helpful. They have a pretty good breakfast of eggs and bacon, that's pretty reasonably priced. Please just don't make the mistake of becoming homesick and order the lasagna for a taste from home. The pasta was incredibly mushy and they used a creamy cheese which was pretty awful. It's probably what canned pasta is like. Otherwise, we stopped at several of this chain's locations throughout our week for pints and breakfast. I think this one had the cleanest bathroom. read more

Bland pub that despite its large size can get so busy it's difficult to move let alone get served. I try to avoid it.

You got to a pub, you want good ales/beer/poison of choice, good service, something like an atmosphere, no morons or basics, and a reasonable price. It ticks off all these boxes but is not exceptional in terms of atmosphere or the crowd so can't quite get there. It is your bog standard chain pub with good ales. It is convenient to Victoria Station too. There are lots of options in the area and this is as goods as any of them. read more

Came for a roast, the carvery is on a sunday 12-3. Got roast of the day, £10. 3 lots of potatoes, roasts, new and mash. Which tasted like smash. To add insult to injury, no horseradish for my beef. Other than that, it was quiet and nice. read more
