Good vibes, food and beer. Busy place. Would come again. Would love to sit outside next time.

Ok the service seas not that attentive but they did have to squeeze us into a table. The place was packed! I found out why! The steak pie was excellent. Wines and beers showed good choices. The atmosphere seem more local than tourists and pure busy pub style.

This clean bar deserve the 5 stars. We were greeted with a smile and good customer service. My husband was able to tasted the beer before choosing his drink. When you are in England you have to try the fish and chips, this plate was delicious crispy from the outside and moist in the inside, most be an England thing but the plate had a green peas purée, French fries was crispy. This plate was huge,

Great pub which offers fish & chips and well seasoned calamari! They did not have Shepard's pie during our visit but the fish & chips was well fresh and each bite was just as good as the last!

My husband and I came here for dinner when we were in London and had a nice experience. The restaurant was clean and intimate, and the staff were very friendly. For dinner, I had the fish n' chips with mushy peas. The fish was pretty fresh, but slightly greasy and not as crispy as I was hoping for. The fries were decent as well. The mushy peas were good--great pea flavor not masked by a bunch of other spices. The prices were fair and the service was pretty good. All in all, nice ambiance, friendly staff, good food, and reasonable prices.

Awesome place right off but not far from the Carnaby area shopping row. Plenty of dining space inside, with an upstairs dining room as well. They, like many pubs claim to have the best award winning pies - and they sure did have an assortment, about 8 or so pies. I got the classic beef ale pie, which was the restaurant special. It was a pretty good deal which came with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies as well. Flavor was a lil on the bland side, but I'd say the side of gravy that I doused it in made up for it. Service was also excellent!

Never realised how hard it was to find a traditional English lunch in London on a Sunday. If you are craving a roast beef lunch or a traditional pie eat early in the day. We headed for lunch around 1pm and after 3 pubs we finally found one that had 1 x roast beef and Yorkshire and 1 x beef pie. The pie was delicious however the roast beef and Yorkshire were a little underwhelming. Lesson - eat lunch early or head out of the centre of London!

As I approached the bar it was pack outside but rather empty inside, it was walking distance from my hotel and I wanted a quick bite to eat for dinner that was easy and inexpensive...the calamari I had was crispy cooked well and flavorful, but the cheese burger I ordered was awful, the burger patty was tasteless over cooked and dry.

Club and a beer for £8.95. Good for the price.

I was on my way to McDonald's to grab a quick cheap bite. But when I saw the lunch menu advertised, a beer sounded good given it was a very hot day. Starting at £8.50, you get a pint and meal. I ordered a chicken club for £8.95 with the Nicholson beer. The club was average but good. The chicken was more of a mayo chicken salad. The chips were delicious. The beer was nothing special but a very good lager type. Given the price it was a satisfying lunch and a break from the summer heat.

Beyond amazing food! Such a quaint pub in London by Liberty. Sonia is the sweetest server! The kids love the Mac & cheese, cheesy bread & elderflower lemonade! We love the fish & chips & craft beer. Win-win!

A solid, well-located pub. We enjoyed a steak and ale pie, some beers and lemonades. Food came quickly and was hot and good

Remarkable, he scored and I literally walked around the corner and saw the long line to get into the pub first. I was seated immediately, however, and proceeded to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast. Room was very pleasant (there are so many I got lost returning to my table from a bio brake. Roast was very good ( but no Lawry's) and the sides excellent. Could not decide if my favorite was the roast potatoes (crispy outside soft inside) or the glazed carrots. Yorkshire pudding was good but again, I am to used to the Lawry's and this is a different style. Peas were, well, peas, but very fresh. The sticky toffee cake was excellent and the Guinness fresh, creamy and a proper pour. Good thing because the selection of winners by the glass and half bottles of wine were both a little thin. Overall wine list was good but I was alone and not up for drinking a full bottle by myself. Overall, very enjoyable and to judge by the crowd and difficulty in getting a reservation, one of the more popular in town.

The history alone makes it worth visiting, and the location is perfect if you're exploring the area. It feels very classic London in the best way. We stopped in for a pint and honestly... the whole after-work beer culture over there is something I really need to bring back with me to the States. The beer was great, the atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and it just felt like one of those places where people naturally gather and stay awhile. Definitely worth stopping into if you're in the area.

Two story space - the ground floor feature the bar and handles walk in lunch; the upstairs is a dining room for those with reservations. Fun fact, as part of the history, the pub used to be the host of bare knuckle fights and had regulars like Charles Dickens. Wildfarmed sourdough - served with whipped salted butter and Guinness butter. Well toasted bread and the butters with salt were well made. Fuller's London Pride marinated steak and ale pie - served with seasonal veggies and red wine gravy, as well as either mash potatoes or triple cooked chips. If there is one dish London does really well, it's their pies. It was beautifully made and loaded with steak. The red wine gravy was decadent and added a perfect amount of moisture to the pie. Triple cooked chips were perfectly crispy but fluffy on the inside. Corn fed chicken breast - served with garlic and sage butter, mash potato, cavolo nero, and crispy onions. Only took a bite of this as it was my partner's dish but the bite of chicken I had was very juicy and well seasoned.
