Flash forward to this weekend. Stopped here on the way out of town. I gotta say, not a good decision. The prices have increased, not just with costs, but to the point of ridiculous. Why would I pay prices greater than Texas Roadhouse for Applebee's food? I didn't and I won't. Our server was adequate. The iced tea and rolls were good. My chicken was very bland. We made reservations and as soon as we arrived they got our table ready. The food came out in a timely manor after we placed our order. We were a party of five and everything came out perfect. Love this place! Due to Celiac's I always order the California Chicken Salad and it's the best one in town! Hubby's favorites are Chicken Tenders, Fish-n-chips and the fresh bread! Ordered so can't speak for the ambience and service, however the ribs were very juicy and delicious. The chicken tenders (3 pieces) were extremely juicy and fried well, crispy on the outside, but didn't give 5 stars because the tenders were extremely salty making them a little difficult to eat, even with the honey mustard sauce. Shocked by the lack of 5 star reviews for this location. We met family we hadn't seen for a while here and our party of 11 was seated promptly and the service was stellar. The food was well cooked and made it to the table hot. They sat us in a quiet part of the restaurant. Made it easy to talk and visit as long as we wanted. Went for lunch 1/27/25 3 people. Have been going for the past 4 Mondays. One or 2 persons have been ordering the shrimp & grits which has been great until 1/27/25. On that date one person ordered the shrimp and grits, BUT got shrimp & over dry cornbread. NO GRITS! WTF! Talked to kitchen manager. He sent out a plain bowl of pasty like glue grits! 3 strikes and you are out. This establishment is hit and miss on the food, but it has the absolute worst service in the area surrounding the airport. They do not wipe down the tables between guests. On more than one occasion I have waited so long for a server to come by and take a drink order I have had to get up and walk out.One of the hosts is pretty much nonverbal. We haven't eaten here in a very long time, and I was pleased at how good the food and service was. It has been remodeled since we were here last. We sat at the bar, the atmosphere was great, and very friendly people sitting at the bar. Barb was our bartender, and she made our experience a great one! She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks, food, happy hour offerings, and current specials. We were there on National Beer Day, and they had select pints of beer for $1, WOW!! We got a free appetizer for downloading their app and becoming an O'Charley's O'Club member, and ordered the Spicy Jack Cheese Wedges with honey mustard for dipping. They were yummy! Food was decent, but grease all over the tables (you know--that thin film that you can feel when you touch the table, even if it's been wiped off) and gnats were the order of the day. We couldn't enjoy the evening due to swatting away gnats constantly! Service was fantastic, and our server was quite attentive. Well, I knew if I reviewed places enough, there would be a negative that would have to come along. This one is unfortunately one of those. The star rating is for the food. Let me first say that the service was outstanding. And the ambiance was great with the bright lights and cleanliness of the place. Our server was attentive and, even though she was VERY busy, she still stayed on top of refills, needs, etc. Now, back to the food. My fiancée had the 12oz. Sirloin medium well with baked potato and potato soup. Yes, she overloaded on taters but oh well. Anyway, I had the new chicken tenders nachos. Well, the food comes out. The steak & soup, as well as my nachos, were cold. We HATE sending anything back (we have seen the movie "Waiting..." and we're traumatized) but the server saw our faces and came over to see what the issue was. She took our food back to just heat it up a little at our request. Then, when it came back, mine was perfect, but hers was still cold. Then she cut into it. It was almost mooing. It was nearly rare. So, trip number 2 back to the kitchen. When she brought it back, it wasn't much better but my fiancée ate it anyway because she was famished. This was a disappointing visit for sure. Conveniently located in Florence Ya'll very close to the I-75 Interstate entrance and exit ramp! Very clean restaurant, with delicious food and excellent service! The menu has lots of options to choose from! The yeast rolls and their special honey butter served before your meal are absolutely amazing and addictive! Waited all day to get dinner after getting off of flights. Chose the Florence KY location as they were open until 10. Mistake. One word sums it up...lousy. Lousy food, lousy atmosphere. The rolls tasted as if they were on day 2 and dry enough that the bite marks from my teeth remained. The baked potato soup was an oily yellow and looked as if it had been dumped from a bag, potatoes were translucent, and it tasted vey bland. My companion ordered a simple chicken salad that was very small and bleh. The ambiance was comparable to an old Bob Evan's or a big boy. Needs badly updated. Not sure how the company has allowed the Florence location to remain open or how the community has supported such a waste of money restaurant. Went here for dinner with a small group. Getting seated was quick. They were busy, but not slamming. Those were the positives of the experience. Took about 10 minutes just to get our drinks which consisted of water. About 5 minutes later the 2 beers ordered finally arrived. Went downhill from there. About 30 minutes after placing our orders the side salads from 4 orders arrived. And we waited, and waited, and waited some more. A table that came in quite sometime after we were seated had ordered and received the food and we waited. Our orders were straight forward, not special orders. We were ready to get up, pay for the side salads and leave. Three in our party stopped our waitress and said "where is our food?" I'm going to check on that was her response. Several minutes passed. Finally the food was brought out and an explanation of "they were just putting it up when I got back there". This was an hour or more since we were seated. The food was warm not hot as if it just came off the grill and even the salad (meal) was warm. When the bills arrived there was a charge to on check for an appetizer that was ordered, but never received. This is the second time we have done this and they don't get the order right, don't have it at the time you schedule an order ( over an hour late) and then barely apologize and certainly don't try to make it right. Those who were dining in and witnessed this were speaking up on how horrible le it was, too! I called in minutes after placing the scheduled online order to ensure it would be ready at the right time AND that they would keep the toppings on the side. When the order was wrong and I spoke with the manager ( 40 minutes past when it should have been ready), Yuri simply said the person I spoke to was long gone and they were really busy Nice! I stopped in for dinner early on a Saturday evening. Fortunately there was no wait and we got right in. After some deliberation I decided on the 16oz prime rib with loaded baked potato and rice pilaf. The prime rib had an excellent flavor and was very tender it was cooked almost perfect. Everything else also had a great flavor and my server was very efficient and took very good care of us. I will definitely be returning again for the prime rib dinner. O'Charley's reminds me of a little nicer TGI Fridays, or a Ruby Tuesday's. The big difference is it doesn't have a day of the week in it's name. Food wise, the food is fine. Every table is served a basket of yeast rolls. The Cajun pasta is basically linguine noodles, tossed in alfredo sauce. To give it a more Cajun feel, bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes are added. Cayenne and cracked pepper is then sprinkled over the top. The chicken itself was a bit on the dry side. I also ordered a side of sweet potatoes. I did enjoy the purity of the sweet potatoes. I like that nothing was really added to them other than some cinnamon on top. It is appreciated that there is a healthy side dish other than steamed broccoli. On the flip side, brownie was very cake like to me. In a town that has so many great options for ice cream, it is noticeable when basic ice cream is used. O'Charley's is a chain so that's really not the local restaurant's fault. Nothing I crave, but if you are staying at one of the local hotels, and looking for a restaurant in walking distance, it is a fine option. Service is really where this O'Charley's shines. I was there as part of a group. I was impressed by how often we were checked on. My glass never fell below half full. The servers and hostess were warm, inviting, and attentive. read more

I usually don't have the opportunity to rate chain restaurants so high, but this location hit the mark, 5*! The restaurant was clean, food was fantastic,and service was on point. We went on a FREE pie Wednesday (free with each entree) and had our two kids, so with each entree their food was FREE as well....Plus it was my son's birthday so he got a FREE pie too! I love good free food and am a regular at O'Charley's. I'm a huge fan of the chicken strips and typically dip it in the Nashville hot sauce (don't get it if you can't handle the heat). I went with the side Caesar salad this time to cut out carbs on the fries...it was impressed with the portion for a side salad. The customer service and friendliness from the workers certainly gave the southern hospitality vibe that I love. Toward the end of the meal things picked up with more customers but the staff handled the rush well and met our needs in a timely manner. Overall, I'm impressed and would recommend this location for families with kids or those that want a good meal! read more

A typical O'Charley's. We had very good service, and good food. The atmosphere... Kentucky still has smoking sections, so this isn't the restaurant's fault. But when we walked in, we were slammed with the stale stench. Seated in the non-smoking section, it was still unpleasant. I am so glad more places are banning smoking from restaurants, at least- the smell intrudes on the dining experience. Ah, well. The food was okay, and we didn't stick around. We had a small meal- Sweetie had a steak and mashed potatoes, the cowboy ribeye I believe. I had... well, I don't remember, so it must not have been particularly bad or good. Or maybe I was distracted by the smell. Anyway, worth a visit, but hold your nose. Again, not this place's fault, maybe it's true of most Kentucky restaurants. read more

THANK YOU O'Charley's for honoring Veteran's Day by giving away a very delicious meal. I chose the Cowboy Sirloin with crispy onion on top of bacon smashed potatoes. The sirloin was perfect and the potatoes were amazing. And of course their MOUTH WATERING dinner rolls are always a highlight. Mmmm We've went to other places on Veteran's day but this was my favorite so far. I think more highly of them for supporting the troops too. Took a long time to get seated on a Sunday after church. There was empty tables but not enough servers I think. Our party had 8 people. Food was ok. Service was ok. I had the ultimate omelet. The hostess seated my party at the furthest table from the door. Both my parents have walkers. My mom gets her knee replaced in 2 days. When mom pointed out that she should have sat us in a table closer to the door, the hostess copped an attitude. She became very hostile with my mom, made a petulant face, and informed us that the we *had* to go to that table because that server was next and didn't have a closer table. I told the server the and she was lovely, and offered us a table closer to the door. She said the hosts were absolutely trained to put people with disabilities closer to the door. The potato soup we all loved has even now been reduced to watered down CANNED cheese soup with a giant handful of FAKE bacon bits and 4 tiny diced potato pieces... no potatoes, no chopped green onion, no shredded cheese (no cheese at all) no bacon ( fake stuff =instant upset stomach nasty shit!) The "soup" was the ONLY thing that was served hot. Our server was too busy taking a very extended smoke break so our food ( we waited a good long while) came to us cold, with a side of strong cigarette smoke. [Restauranteurs: you can't pay $2.13 plus tips and get quality help anymore and I'll bet my dinner that's what is hurting the morale and service here.] Sunday afternoons during the Christmas shopping season used to pack this place. The bar used to hop during a Bengals game. Not today... one guy in the bar. Lots of open tables. They have enough staff, just inattentive and not the quality of servers they used to employ. Food is okay. Average price $15 per meal plus beverage. But you get their famous yeast rolls... they're also not as good as they used to be... The polish has worn off. I hate that my first yelp review has to be so negative, but I felt pretty strongly about just how negative my experience here was. I used to come to this location in the early 2000s religiously, but moved out of state. I recently moved back and was excited to return. Unfortunately I will not be returning due to the staff. The hostess (didn't get her name) but she is brown-haired, in her late 40s to mid 50s w a pony tail. She seemed to be really bothered to be there. Maybe she's over worked... but still she was really gruff and kind of aggressive. She slid the pager at me without even saying anything and when I asked about how long it would be, she said "fifteen" and abruptly walked off...this would be unacceptable, even if they were slammed but the dining room was maybe a 3rd full if I'm being generous. The food arrived pretty late which would be fine if most everyrhing was'nt cold. When I brought it to the manager's attention (he was inl9ve his late 40s or so, bright blonde hair) he seemed pretty indifferent and asked "well what would u like me to do about it" I relpied "Well you're the mngr and I'm the guest so however you would like to handle this, I will be fine with. I just wanted to bring it to your attn." He offered me free dessert...I told him to keep the pie. I just won't be coming back. He said have a good one and walked off. read more

I have had my credit card go missing 2 times. Ironically, when I called the restaurant to ask if it was found, they had me describe my card! My hubby has a craving for burgers- he had a good experience with burgers at this restaurant before that's why we went back. There was a 15 min wait for us to be seated, the hostess seemed polite, friendly and appropriate. Once we were seated, our waiter came right away to get our drink orders, he came back with our glasses of water and a basket of bread and butter. For drinks I ordered pain chiller punch- it was delicious, but very sweet to my liking. For our entree my husband ordered the bacon Cheeseburger with onion and it comes with a side of fries. For me, I ordered the whiskey chicken pasta. The wait for our dinner was a little longer than expected, I think we waited for at least 20-30 min, which I don't mind because we were too busy chatting anyway. However, when our food arrived my husband's fries were cold and the burger just a tad warm. He does not want to ask our waiter to warm it up or order new fries so he settled. My entree on the other was the right temperature- not so hot, but warm enough to my liking. It was new for my tastebuds, but eventually I was able to enjoy it. It's a bit hard to fairly rate my family's experience at O' Charley's today. The food was tasty once we finally got it, but it was incredibly slow. Some of that was to be expected. We were a group of 12 and that never bodes well for speed. We arrived at 3pm, though, and that should have been a slower time of day. By the time our food arrived, it was after 4pm. We were talking and having a good enough time, but no matter what the issue is, that is unacceptably slow service. Again, the food was good, but then our bill was all jacked up too. Signs everywhere said, 'Kids Eat Free', but our tab charged us for all of them. Once I said something to the waitress, she fixed it, but I shouldn't have to do that. So based on the time and the bill issue, I likely won't be back...too many other places that can make the dining experience a better one. read more

Just not great. Took my mom and kids yesterday for lunch. 3 of us got the rolls, soup, and salad (unlimited). Sat with empty basket of rolls for a long time before being asked if we wanted more. We love soup and both and potatoe and chicken harvest soup tasted horrible (the only way I can describe is it smelled like a wing of an old person home where the patients have c-diff. Service was not great, my daughter spilled her drink and instead of helping us clean it up she just threw more napkins at us (wasn't that busy). We ate at the bar today. Food, drinks & service were good. good social distancing everywhere. Entire staff wore masks except for one server who wore his on his chin. This guy had no clue and considering current KY guidelines he should not be in the work place. His description: white male, 20's, beard. He carried trays of food on his shoulder with the tray of food by his uncovered mouth and nose and took several food orders from seated customers while not properly masked. What's worse, a manager, with a mask on, followed him to a table with another tray of food and had to see this server's behavior. We are both in our 60's.
