They offered all the kids their own pizza dough to play with and even gave them sauce and some cheese to make their own mini pizzas for free. I wish I could give this place 0 stars and that's just based on the service. It was absolutely terrible. We've never been in but we were wanting to try. From the moment we walked in we were not greeted nor acknowledged. We stood by the booth for several minutes before walking to the line because we were unsure of how everything worked and none of the servers seemed to want to help.. we were making eye contact with the pair of workers standing in the corner laughing. We continued to be ignored when another party walked in and finally the servers started to walk towards the front. We asked if we could be seated and why we weren't being helped earlier and the worker said "we were busy" when the actual dining area had maybe 3 parties and there were 3 servers one who was already helping a family at the booth. So no they weren't busy. And the fact that we made eye contact several times and still they choose to talk and laugh instead of helping us. Ordered pick up. They were about 15 mins behind with a parking lot full of people. That is understandable considering what the world is going through right now. The pizza from this location is always great. More expensive then every other pizza place, but it's my favorite pizza so I splurge sometimes. Very slow delivery though. Got to admit I was not thinking I would really enjoy our dinner at NYPD Pizza. No reason why, just thought it had a chain restaurant vibe and I would be disappointed. I am glad to say that I was wrong and it was a very enjoyable meal with the family. For dinner we started with the crispy fresh mozzarella. The dish was panko covered mozzarella with your typical marinara sauce but also with a side of balsamic reduction that was a hit. As for our entrée, we went with their large pizza that was half big kahuna (ham, pineapple, and basil) and half ricotta and meatball. The kahuna was decent and the ricotta half was awesome. The ricotta and meatball together were so flavorful. As good as they were the real winner was N.Y.'s crust. That stuff was so good. Just the right amount of crisp and chewiness. I guess their filtered water really is the difference. Staff was great and the ambience was nice with slightly dimmed lighting. Just the way this guy likes it. Came here for the first time, had some boneless honey hot, tasted like bbq sauce to me. Had a big kahuna I love pineapple pizza and it was good but I like more of a crispy pizza and this was more doughy than I prefer. My son had the regular wings he said they were good, the pizza he had was cheese with garlic and he's a kid so he enjoyed it. Service was good, ate outside it was enjoyable and nice ambiance... Would I come back probably if in the area but if not I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

This place is a gem! The food is always great! They have plenty of options. We always get the half Sicilian pizza and garlic knots. I recently tried the fried zucchini which is amazing. They have great salad options. I just found out that they have wings! The wings are ok, not as crispy as I like but it is my fault for not asking them to be extra crisp. Service has always been great whether we are dining in or ordering to go. When you order out they usually have your recent order saved to your phone number making it easy to request the same thing which is our usual. The atmosphere is great! NYPD Pizza is pretty yummy I have to say. We do love coming here to order our favorite pizza with extra ricotta and meatballs. It's not a pizza on the menu but you can build your own with the items listed. The crust here is wonderful and you actually want to eat it not leave it! We also got the Big Kahuna Hawaiian pizza and this one was not my favorite. It seemed a little blah for my taste buds. We tried out the Crispy Fresh Mozzarella and it was very flavorful but it was not a very large portion compared to some places. If we go back, we will order the Garlic Cheese Knots we were eyeing at the table next to us! Those looked so good. Though I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants.. this one is A-ok! Pretty good pizza place, they have a great kids menu (around $5 including drink and dessert) with a lot of options and they even allow some substitutions (different kinds of noodles, etc.). I got the 8" personal pizza (forgot the name but had the works on it) which was pretty good except for the fact that I had to eat it with a fork and knife because my toppings kept falling off. I had ordered it extra crispy which usually means you can just pick it up and eat it like, well, you know, a pizza. The small calzone was HUGE and could probably feed a small army (see pic which was taken after about 1/3 of it was eaten). This is a ton of food for only $6.49 and the kids thought they were really good. Now I'm curious to see how big the large one is! The spaghetti was just OK, fairly generic. The service was great and it wasn't that crowded at all for a Saturday night. I would probably rate it a 3.5 but rounded up to 4 stars due to the service and the fact that they have Mountain Dew! read more

Because too often only the people that have some unusual unwarranted complaints are the ones that respond or leave a yelp review, I wanted to tell you my personal experience at this pizzeria. The pizza is fantastic, the salads are amazing, and the service is impeccable! My wife and I were in Phoenix for the week and found this place. We enjoyed it so much we actually went a second time and we never do that on vacation. I'm convinced you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but without a doubt make sure you try their phenomenal pizzas and salads! Our waitress suggested mixing ranch in their balsamic vinegar dressing, oh my God! It's an amazing combination! Some of the best pizza I have had in awhile. Honestly everything we have gotten so far has been great. Our favorite is the pizza blanca with spinach and we add mushrooms too, so delicious. Their ricotta is amazing and they do not skimp! The big kahuna is great, the basil is such an awesome addition to it! We also have had the 4 cheese and it's really good but prefer the Blanca over it personally. Their crispy zucchini is some of the best I have had in a really long time, it's breading has great seasoning and isn't overwhelming. We have also had the crispy mozzarella and it's totally worth it if you love mozzarella, the balsamic reduction is so good. Lastly have also tried the wings, traditional, good size and the upstate is a great medium spicy, really enjoyed it! Oh and I almost forgot, their large is huge, the medium is pretty large too! I KNEW IT! We haven't been here for about a year. The reason is because they barely put any sauce on the pizza but loaded it up with a ton of cheese. I said next time we'll order extra sauce. Fast forward to a year later. We order the 18" mushroom. I would have put bacon or pepperoni on it but it would have pushed the price to over $30. I asked for a little extra sauce and they put way too much on it. It was sloppy. The pizza wasn't even cut right. I had to break out my pizza cutter at home. But here's the MAIN problem. They changed the sauce and I knew it right of way. I knew the second I took a bite something was off. I contacted the manager and asked him straight up. " Did you guys change the sauce?" He said " Yes, about a year ago" I said " I knew it and I don't like it. It lacks the zest and robustness that it had" He said that they have a different sauce supplier. Basically they went cheap on the sauce. I'm sure they'll blame it on the price of tomatoes but they didn't change the price they charge people for their pizza. To me it feels like a bait and switch. He said only 2 people noticed that they changed the sauce. Myself and some other lady. I think that's total bullshit. The three things you need to make a great pizza. #1 The sauce. To me the most important ingredient. #2 The dough. #3 The cheese. You really can't F toppings up as long as you have the 3 basics down. But NYPD changed the sauce to some shit that doesn't even measure up to Ragu or some tomato sauce that you can buy in a can at the grocery store. They also have a bunch of really young kids working in there making your food. No thanks. I'm done with this place. read more

Most horrible service I've had in my life. Dined in for my kid's fundraiser this evening. Never once got asked may I get you anything from the kitchen before we close. We live in buckeye so we've never dined in her before. Only reason we visited was for my children's fundraiser to feed family's for the holidays. I spent $150 to be rushed to sign the check, bought a bottle of wine appetizer, large pizza, two beers 2 kids meals even had my cousin meet us since she's up the street in Avondale to even be asked if she was dining in. We received our food to then receive the check immediately after. Never received a last call or would you like dessert before we close? He drops down the check runs our card. We have food in our mouths he asks if we're ready for boxes. Five minutes later asks if we have signed the check. Still tipped Micheal $25 which he didn't deserve only because I'm in hospitality. We were rushed and felt so uncomfortably forced out. Spoke with manager that could give two shits about our experience kept saying he "understood" but showed zero empathy was ready to lock the door after us at 8:25. He was clearly their friend and wanted to leave as well. When Micheal asked for the check I should've left zero tip since he was such in a rush and made us feel so unwelcome. Never again will I return. I'll also inform the school of the experience we had and my neighborhood app as well. Not one to leave negative reviews but I couldn't let this one slide not at all especially for how much money we spent. The only good experience we had was with the host who sat us very friendly and welcoming. read more
