However, this time around, I was in a bit of a time crunch and too busy to really sit down and trouble shoot the issue so I did a quick Google search for computer repair services on Staten Island. I called one place and they were unable to perform the basic service I requested so I moved onto the next which happened to be Computer Sam. Sam was able to quickly respond to my text about my request and provided same-day service. He picked up my poor war machine from my house (it is a gaming PC specifically built back in 2010 to play Final Fantasy XIV - 1.0 version) and went ahead to run some diagnostic tests. He was able to find the root of the problem which resulted in needing to replace a component on my motherboard, the BIOS chip, and not my entire motherboard. (In retrospect, I should have known; its boot sequence beeping pattern had changed around the time when the problem began.) He placed an expedited order and a few days later, the part arrived in the mail. Sam quickly fixed my PC hardware and returned it to me just in time before my scheduled Twitch stream where I play Final Fantasy XIV with 7 other friends. Sam is very friendly, professional, and reasonably priced with a fast response time. I tend to have trust issues when it comes to tech support industry since most assume that because I am a female I know nothing about technology and can be easily duped but Sam did a great job fielding all my questions and obtaining my trust. 10/10 Would return to Sam again in the future when I am too crunched for time/effort and need assistance with my electronics.

The screen splintered and the cover came loose; the screen image seemed to wave goodbye before shriveling and disappearing. I texted Sam and he was at my house for pickup, with an accurate estimate in a couple of hours, on a Saturday. This is the fourth time we've contacted him: Blue screen of death, an assessment on another device and a wildly successful overhaul and update on the same laptop l just dropped. Employee said it would be a significant outlay just to run diagnostics then more to try and salvage the data. Throw in the cost of a new computer because mine was allegedly end of life. Any other solution was prohibited because of store policy. I don't know much about computers, but I know when I'm being rushed toward a sale. Everyone was polite, I'll give them that. But I left feeling a bit silly, like I'd wasted their time. Traveled out to Queens and got my laptop fixed in an afternoon for way less. Don't get why these guys are so inflexible.

According to Park Ave PC, I had a very good computer but it was full of years old all kinds Trojan Horses and Cookies and whatever weird names he used to describe my computer. They even recommended we upgrade to Windows 7 (did you know you can do that without actually buying a new computer? I didn't know that, that's how green I am in PC-field!) and so they did the upgrade for me too. I don't really know the details of what he actually did to my computer (and I don't care), all I know is that the next morning I woke up to a brand new, fast computer and all my old files, documents and precious photos were there too. I always recommend them to all of my friends and even clients who whine about their slow computers.

We tested out the touch screen (both soft and hard touch), it was still working 98%. It was a little slow. My watch was in his shop for 2 weeks. Arsen called me 1/4/19 to tell me there was a delay in the shipping. He called 1/8/19 to tell me they tried to replaced the screen twice and the motherboard would freeze. Going back to when I dropped it off. It was slow NOT freezing. He says to get the motherboard fix it would basically cost the price of getting a new watch. I said that's not an option. He says he will charge me $45 for the labor. I said, ok can I pick it up today(1/8/19). He said well we're still working on it. I'm thinking to myself Idk, anything about a motherboard. So what exactly are you working on? I brought my watch in 12/28/18. I get it, the holidays were around so a small delay in pick up. I called today (1/13/19)to pick up the watch. My watch is completely dead, lucky I have my charger to see exactly what's going on, but I'm already irritated because its taking a while to turn on. I pay Arsen $45 he hands me my watch and the screen is literally falling out. I said, "when I came in my screen was not falling out like that". You have to melt the adhesive and pry open the edges for it to lift. Please fix it how it was when i came in. He said, it was like that remember? No I dont sir I dont, and you know that. He said I will put some reinforcement on it to hold it in place. I said, please. Ok. I'm very soft spoken and respectful. So I appreciate the professionalism in handling my device to be handled with care. I said my watch broke last year. Yes, 2018.. a few months ago and it was very functional. I know the screen was cracked, but the handling of my device was just poor and distasteful. I didn't need two weeks for you to tell me it wasn't possible to fix. It looked the same when I gave it to you. You fix apples watches. I know you came across a cracked screen before. You could have easily said, this can not be fixed without changing the motherboard. It was such a waste of my time and I shelled out $45 just for you to basically insinuate that you "tried to fix it". Service not rendered. Make sure you know how your device functions before and after in any repair shop. Also, make sure they clarify what they CAN & CANNOT do, before you waste your time. Its like deep down he knew it couldn't have been fixed. I'm so sad. The screen won't stay in place. I legit want to cry. He knows and I know that it was NOT like that. So i cant use it‍.
