I would give this company a negative zero. NW HVAC truly DID NOT meet customer satisfaction. As well as NOT giving us the best possible customer experience. The fact that NW HVAC drilled into the NEW Hardie board siding thus, voided the warranty, has become a hardship costing us over $12k for repairs and replacement of the Hardie board siding. This company was NOT committed to customer satisfaction. Nor attentive and responsive to customer concerns. They wouldn't meet me halfway of replacing the Hardie board. In the main-office lobby at NW HVAC, there is a framed poster that includes the words, honesty, integrity, etc. For most companies, these are just words. At NW HVAC they put these values into practice. My A/C went out during one very hot week. I had the good fortune of being referred to this company by the nice folks at Appliance Clinic. The owner Steve V. came right out to meet with us and assess both our cooling and heating systems. I found Steve to be a very honest person and a man of integrity. He said he could fix the A/C, but since it was the original equipment (25 years-old) it may be best to invest in a new system. He offered three options and gave us a very fair estimate for replacing both cooling and heating system. (doing it together saves so much in labor) We opted for the high-efficiency Ruud system and were scheduled within a few weeks (they also deducted rebates that Ruud offered.) On installation day, the guys were on time and got right to work. Kellen, Tyler, and Tyler (yes, there are two Tylers) worked quickly, neatly and efficiently and were fun guys to hang out with. It took about a day and a half to complete the process. When they were done, we had a sparkling new, properly installed, HVAC system. We feel so grateful to have found this amazing company. Our compressor failed on the heat pump and since both the heat pump and furnace were 25+ years old, we needed a new system. Steve arrived at our home on time and was very knowledgeable about possibilities for a replacement unit. He gave us several options. His price was very competitive and there was no attempt made at upselling. He was able to solve our problem of not enough cold air upstairs when it was hot outside. My wife requested a quote from this company. When the technician arrived he informed us that he would need to charge to perform a diagnostic. The amount was not disclosed in advance by the CSR who scheduled the service or the technician present. My wife was politely agreeable. We paid more than $300 to find out that our AC needs to be replaced, which we already knew. We did not debate the charge; we paid it. Steve called us back to schedule a time to provide us a quote. I explained that it would have been preferable for his staff to explain a "quote" versus a "diagnostic" when they scheduled the service, because we only needed a quote. He was defensive and unreceptive to feedback (despite my agreeability to pay and move forward with an appointment to receive a quote). When I explained that if the service requires a charge, an email confirming that detail in advance would be preferable. He was increasingly insistent to defend his company and said, "If a hundred people can understand but one person cannot, it isn't our fault." I explained that because of their lack of professionalism, failure to manage expectations, and for subsequently insulting my wife, we would not be moving forward with their services. read more

We've been using NW HVAC for years now and we love them so much we have a service subscription with them. They've flawlessly replaced two HVAC systems for us along with all the ducting (we have a huge house so we have two). They do bi-annual maintenance on both units. They also work on our propane shop heater. They are responsive, have reasonable pricing, and are always 100% accountable to their work. We are always so grateful to have found them. Would use again. NW HVAC replaced our old gas furnace and A/C with a heat pump system. When we were talking to HVAC companies, several were slightly dismissive of going to heat pump, but Steve understood what we were trying accomplish and offered us several options at different price points. All the HVAC installation elements looks tidy and secure. When we asked questions, we got clear answers. There were problems running some wiring for the thermostat because of some unusual framing in the attic. Steve and his team worked through the possible solutions, and got it done, though it was obviously a difficult job. Another problem came up related to return ducts, and again, Steve and the team worked with us to come up with a practical solution for duct placement, which looks like it has been in house since day 1. We had a 38 year old GE Electric forced air furnace in our home. It was the original furnace. Although there was nothing wrong with it we felt it had outlived its potential. We decided to put in a new heat pump and furnace. One of my main concerns was the integrity of the installer. In almost all the reviews, the components in the heat pumps are basically the same but the service, both initial and follow up, were not always positive. So my first concern would be getting an installer that would provide good service now and down the road. It was important to me to have full coverage 10 years parts and LABOR. I had five bids, from different contractors, each who carried a different product brand. I went on line and looked at reviews for the products as well as the contractors. Each company came out to give us an estimate. When Steve came out he sat down and made us very comfortable while telling us about the Coleman Heat Pump and Furnace. We were initially looking at the Ruud Heat Pump and he explained why he felt the Coleman would be a better fit for what we wanted. He gave us a quote, which included the credit for PUD and a manufacturers credit for the heat pump. He said he would fill out and process all the paperwork for the credits and deduct them from the final price. I contacted Steve with additional questions during the week and he always got back to us quickly. His quote was the best and I liked what I read about the Coleman Brand. We decided to have him do the work. He set it up for two days work. The crew showed up on time and Steve made sure the initial work got started. His son Wes remained on the job during the two days. The electrician, Doug, from Pleasant Valley Electric was a really nice guy who ran the wiring just where I wanted it. He did a very professional job. Wes and Rick completed installation of the furnace and heat pump. All the holes in the house and outside were sealed up with sheet metal plates screwed into place and finished off with silicone. Very professional. Neat and Clean. Steve returned at the end of the first day and put us on Emergency Heat until they could program the heat pump, the following morning. We were never without heat in the evening. Steve came back the following morning and programed the heat pump and furnace and then ran an air flow test. He discovered there was not enough air flow from the cold air return for the furnace to run efficiently. He explained to me what needed to be done and he added an additional cold air return, which worked out perfectly. (No additional charge) Wes and Rick went over the thermostat controller and answered our questions before leaving. It has only been a week since the install but so far so good. Steve was professional and followed up to make sure everything was done correctly. I would recommend NW HVAV in a heartbeat. read more

Had a great experience with NW HVAC Services today. We didn't have any issues with our heat pump system, but wanted a basic maintenance visit to make sure everything was working well. Shane answered my call right away and told me what a service call would cover and what it would cost. After calling a couple of other companies, we discovered they were the lowest price and it sounded like their work would be thorough. That was definitely the case. Shane (different Shane than the one from the initial call) let us know when he was on his way and was very personable and professional. He carefully ran through his detailed checklist, explained what he was doing and answered all of our questions. He checked the inside furnace unit, the outside heat pump unit, took photos and emailed us the levels and status of all the items he checked out. Steve and his crew are amazing!! Our heat pump went out, and they got there as quick as they could. They diagnosed the problem, ordered parts, came back out to fix it and found there was an even bigger problem. So, we had to order a new heat pump and Steve found a unit in stock the was ready to be installed. We got it for a decent price, old one removed and new one installed in a day and a half!! They were very efficient and courteous and polite and very conscientious of not tracking stuff in from outside (it is damp and wet and muddy!). The guys Steve has working with him are very nice. The crew; Wes, Charles and Steve (Owner), were great. Early in the installation, the crew had to make a change on the position of the furnace to allow more room for parking the car. Steve hustled to the shop and made an adaption piece for the base duct so the furnace could be repositioned . The job was completed on time and on budget, with lots of room for the car. Recently purchased an older house with baseboard heating. Immediately I knew I wanted to replace it with a more modern system and got with NW HVAC for a quote. They were able to install the system within a week after I closed on the house despite not being the easiest install. They were able to duct through a tiny crawlspace, remove all the old wall heaters and provide me with one of the most sealed systems ever according to what I have found on the web. My house is super comfortable and I couldn't be happier with the work they did. I know it wasn't an easy job but it works amazingly and the price was very reasonable in my opinion. read more

Great troubleshooters and problem solvers! And they accomplish the repairs at a fraction of the cost of other companies. They recently divided our home into two zones cutting our electric bill down substantially. Several years ago they figured out what the tapping inside our wall was and repaired the problem at 1/5 the cost of other bids. They also added a fresh air recirculating component to our HVAC as the former owners, who had cats, removed the upstairs return air vents...on hot days the house became quite odoriferous.
