While I have enjoyed working with Revival employees, my recent experience with their owners, in connection with a full HVAC replacement on a rental property, fell far short of expectations. The owners of this business have been dismissive, defensive, non-responsive, and not particularly service oriented. Really an unfortunate experience given the amount of money spent on this transaction. Specifically, Revival failed to deliver warranty documents that were required to be provided to me upon the completion of work, as specifically noted in the statement of work. Even though warranty documents were not provided, Revival's owners demanded immediate payment in full. Revival also failed to advise ahead of time about County inspections that needed to be completed after installation. This easily could have been communicated to me up-front but was not, and led to a lot of last-minute scrambling with my tenants when inspectors showed up without notice, or notified us of follow-up visits. Note to Revival owners: Going forward, please treat your paying customers with more respect, anticipate their needs, and don't send long-winded defensive treatises when customers reasonably object to the way they're being treated. These are fairly easy-to-implement service changes and would really improve your service model. read more

Just had my aging A/C unit changed by Revival and appreciated Keaton's professionalism and honesty. He helped us avoid unnecessary costs, was available to answer any questions (and not bothered with multiple calls) and even suggested we harvest a valuable part (a top-notch capacitor) from the old unit to be used as a future replacement. Revival Energy Group installed a single space mini-split in my condo and did a great job from quote to finish! I went with Revival because of the range of options and price points provided by Robert. They also were able to schedule me quickly. Curt and Tyler led the installation and were very kind and courteous throughout. The only hiccup was that the electricians noted that the original electrical plan in the quote was "impossible." That led to a bit of stress on the installation day but they were able to come up with an alternative that worked out even better. Revival ended up delivering what was promised, on budget, and on a faster timeline than I expected! I'd recommend them and go back to them again in the future. read more

Incapable of diagnosing problem, (circuit breaker repeatedly popping on ac unit), charged diagnostic fee regardless, (which we paid), then repeatedly harassed us for non payment long after funds were drawn from our account by them...highly recommend NOT using these amateurs. read more

We had Revival install a new furnace in our home 2019. During the recent cold weather (Jan 2024) a condensation drain line on our furnace froze which tripped a sensor on the pump shutting down our thermostat and furnace. I called Revival's number listed on their website and left a message as well as texted to the number which was suggested on their outgoing message. The outdoor temperature at the time was about 10* and wind was blowing a constant 10-15mph which resulted in the interior temperature of our house falling to 60* at 1030pm. Eventually the interior temperature fell to 52* and stayed there until the furnace was repaired. We did not get any message or a call back from Revival until 4pm the following day. The woman who called started by saying "I just saw your message" it had been 18 hours since I called and texted their emergency service number. I understand everyone was busy dealing with emergencies during the cold weather but it wasn't a secret we were moving into cold weather and snow. There were multiple winter storm warnings issued in the days leading up to the weekend. I expected an HVAC company would have planned accordingly by bringing on additional staff especially to answer phones and return calls. We ultimately called another company who promptly called back and came to our house to repair our furnace. Based on this experience I could never recommend Revival for anything even if there were no other options. read more

I deeply regret having chosen Revival Energy to install my ductless heat pump. This stems from an assortment of issues but first let me say that I have no issue with the way the system itself functions. I have a Daikin system with two indoor 12k Btu wall heads driven by an 18k Btu multizone outdoor unit, installed in February 2017. FIRST. The most egregious issue was the placement of the outdoor unit. It was installed on existing concrete to the side of a concrete walkway between my house and shed, the pathway to my back yard. Revival neglected to tell me that during the cold months the outdoor unit would drip condensation, which might run off across the walkway. As it turned out, the condensation (which is way more than just a drip -- I measured a quart or more per hour) did run across the walkway and in freezing temperatures turned the walkway into an ice-skating zone preventing access to the back yard. This wouldn't have been an issue had it been installed in a different location. When confronted with this problem, Revival said they'd "never seen this issue before" and refused to take any responsibility whatsoever for not having advised me of this potentially hazardous situation. Not only that, but they made it clear that I was being a 'difficult' customer. After thoroughly researching the condensation issue (whether the 'drip' amount was normal, what would other HVAC companies have done about it re installation or remedy), it was clear that Revival had been negligent. Other companies said they knew this to be an issue and would have suggested a different placement. It calls into question Revival's knowledge and credibility. Revival argues that because they gave me such a good price on my system that they should not have to spend anything extra to resolve the runoff problem. One of the partners came up with a feeble drip pan solution that was destined to fail once winter temperatures fell to freezing; and it did fail. I solved the icy runoff problem myself by spending over $200 to have a deep concrete channel down to underlaying dirt cut around the unit (a moat) and filling it with a layer of sand and coarse rock. This works very well. (Revival had suggested a channel cut the length of the walkway, at my expense, which was an impractical solution for various reasons.) SECOND. Two years later, February 2019, there is a small gurgling sound in one of the wall heads so I reached out to Revival. They think the sound is due to the system not having been serviced since it was installed, and are happy to charge me $300 to come and clean the units ($150 for the outdoor unit + $75 for each wall head, rather than a flat rate). This in spite of the 3-yr labor / 10-yr parts warranty they offered with purchase. Not only that but when I asked about the needed service, Jim Ballman (a partner in the company and the one I was speaking to), sounded like this was an unusual request and had to call me back with the pricing. Odd really, for a company that actually installs these systems. After a bit of calling around, I found that the price Revival quoted me is out of line with other companies for exactly the same service. It is more than $100 higher than all the others. When I purchased the system Revival never offered me a service plan, and never said the system needed annual cleaning. Every other company I contacted said that the manufacturer recommends cleaning the whole system at least once a year. Again, Revival's negligence, knowledge, and credibility. In the five houses I've renovated during the past 15 years I've been lucky not to have had the misfortune of dealing with such a recalcitrant contractor. Revival's customer service model seems to be "blame the customer" and "take no responsibility" and as such, I cannot recommend doing business with them. read more

Jim & Robert went above and beyond my expectations. As a first time home owner, with zero understanding of my furnace, I genuinely trusted their expertise. Informative, professional and punctual, I will be working with Revival Energy for future projects! My furnace started making a weird noise about two months ago. I initially spoke with Jim on the phone, and he tried to troubleshoot what might be wrong prior to scheduling a diagnostic visit. Since we couldn't pinpoint the issue, Jim sent a technician to look at the furnace the next day. Robert was able to diagnose the failing part in about 10-15 minutes. Not only did he explain the whole issue and all my options, but he also is going to file a claim to maximize my warranty. While fixing the furnace, Robert brought to my attention exhaust vents that were improperly installed in my attic as well. Our furnace was shutting off intermittently, blowing cold air through the vents. I called Revival to make an appt. requesting a technician to look at the furnace. Technician assessed the problem being the thermostat was not compatible with furnace. I ordered online the recommended model # technician advised me to get. Local stores did not carry this model. Thermostat finally arrived & installed but furnace was still not working properly blowing cold air throughout the vents. I called to make another appointment telling Brianna the situation. She said I can click on service needed which she'll send me estimates to my email or I can talk to a technician. I reviewed estimates, 1. New thermostat 2. Furnace tune up, Ignitor, capacitor repair $600. 3. Sensi maintenance, Ignitor, capacitor, furnace tune up & system removal $2,000. + service fee & labor. I called the office to speak to a technician as some of these we already replaced. No one called, so I made an appointment with a different Heating company. Tech ran some test for furnace, made assessment that the 'control board' needs to be replaced. At this moment, not sure what to believe....went with his recommendation. Now, furnace is working properly. It was a very cold & miserable 6 weeks when temperature dropped to 25*. read more

I had Revival come out and do a full tune up of my gas furnace and heatpump in February, they game me a clean bill of health... Fast forward to this week when my AC quit working, I called multiple places for service but with the Heat Wave we are having it was 2-4weeks out. I decided to pull the inspection cover on the Heatpump and found the dual run capacitor rusty with corroded terminals. I find it hard to believe this just happened but was not made aware at time of service. Long story short I replaced the capacitor myself and AC is back working. I just think the technician had he pulled the cover would have seen this issue and offered a solution at that time. I called in today and was told we see that issue often and that's just what we do. Sorry but if you see corrosion you should recommend some type of remedy. read more

We talked about CO detectors, gas furnaces, water heaters, A/C units, attics, insulation, humidity, ventilation, efficiency, looked for gas leaks, identified my energy costs per square foot per year. He even did a pressure test for my home, using a high-powered fan attached to the front door, and this helped me identify a surprising air leak in my house! Highly recommended! I had an energy audit done, as well as an estimate on a new heat pump (our old one stopped working). First, Robert ran some diagnostics to see where our house was leaking heat (using cool technology, like Ghostbusters!). It didn't take long to find out where we needed to do some work to make our home more efficient. These guys don't work on commission, so they won't try to sell you things you don't need. In fact, Robert found a hidden short in our heat pump which was causing it to run inefficiently and to eventually stop working. He fixed the problem. Other companies (working on commission) would have been trying to sell me a new heat pump. I'll still have a good look at their estimates for new pump, and would not hesitate to have them do an install because I know they would help me determine the smartest choice for our needs, with no up-sell. Wondering how to save money on your heating and cooling bills? New windows? Better insulation? New furnace? This company will help you figure out the best path, answer any questions about your heating or cooling, and save you money in the long run. They're competent, honest, and really easy to work with.
