So far so good. We recently purchased a home that had a "critter issue" in the crawl space and attic. The "unnamed" company, hired by the previous owner, was supposed to do the remediation, but left a lot to be desired. I checked reviews for crawl space services and came across New Leaf. Based on the reviews I gave them a call, as I also wanted to address water in the crawl space. Matt came out to do an inspection. I mentioned the previous rodent issue that was supposed to have been addressed. Matt went into the crawl space and came out about 40 minutes later, so I knew he had taken the time to check things out. He indicated we did have water in the crawl space and he felt a French drain would resolve it. In addition he noted that there were still signs of rodent feces, so the crawl space had not been thoroughly cleaned and there was contamination in the insulation. As such he recommended complete removal and replacement of the insulation, as well as decontamination and replacement of the vapor barrier. (These were all things we thought the other company had done). I addressed this with the seller and as he was having problems with the "unnamed" company, we agreed to move forward with New Leaf. The New Leaf office staff set up dates to take care of the remediation and French drain. The staff worked with us on the billing and offered a nice discount. At a later date I decided to wait on the French drain and the staff rewrote the bill and still gave us a discount. Once Matt's crew showed up and started to do the work on the remediation, I changed my mind again and decided to go ahead and do the French drain as well. The staff was super about setting up a new date to complete the French drain and still provided the discount we had talked about. We had to set up the date for the French drain for after the remediation, which is kind of backwards to the norm, but New Leaf was really flexible. The French drain won't be in until mid December, so I can't really comment on that portion of the job, but will do a follow up review. As for the remediation, Matts crew did a great job and earned every penny of what it cost. There were up to four people there at any one time. They taped off the ingress egress from the crawl space to the front of the house to protect the walls and carpeting. Matt took pictures under the crawl space and of the insulation to show the contamination that was still present. The crew was there for three days. They were respectful of the property and cleaned up each day. Matt and John were very patient with all my questions. I would definitely recommend them if you needed work done. There will be a follow up review once the French drain is completed. We received a nice hand written thank you from the office staff and look forward to having the French drain completed in the next few weeks.. read more

After years of repairing and remodeling homes, I'm very picky about who does the work. I called New Leaf to come out for a free inspection after I had my crawlspace completely gutted, due to rodent infestation. I have had three other companies look at it and they all told me different things on what I needed to do. Chris came out and spent the time with me to talk about what he saw and, more importantly, WHY he thought the needed repairs should be made. He was also the first person to give me ideas on why the infestation happened, as I really wanted to make sure it wouldn't again. Due to him, I have lined the perimeter with hardware cloth and rock to stop the rodents from entering again, which was something I had previously removed, so it made perfect sense. My job consisted of repair to posts in the foundation, duct work, vapor barrier and installation. New Leaf came out on time- communication was great with them. I am working from home, so I needed to continue that while they were here. The guys working were polite, careful and very thoughtful about trying to make little noise. The house was lined daily with plastic and cleaned every night- you would not have known they were there. It took three days to do all of the work. When finished, they were short one foot on some duct work, so they came out the next day and quickly finished it up. They offered to do it that evening, but I didn't want them having to drive in the traffic. While working, two screws had come out of the handle to the crawlspace lid. They replaced ALL of the screws to make sure it would stay secure! I would absolutely recommend this company- really nice crew, great communication, cares about their customers, environmentally thoughtful- great pricing. I had just disconnected with their office staff a few minutes prior having inquired about of stopping by their facility for consultation [which I offered to pay for]. Alas I was informed everyone was out on worksites. It wasn't surprising to hear; I've lived in Vancouver's Orchards district where the home I had collected groundwater under it's crawlspace cover (due to some manner of impermeable subsurface ground layer just inches below grade). Our experience with New Leaf Crawl Spaces was outstanding from start to finish. We initially requested an inspection and quote for insulation installation in our crawlspace due to heating costs. New Leaf is awesome. We bought an older house that had severe crawlspace flooding--over the footings and rotting the posts. New Leaf provided the most detailed estimate of the four contractors that bid the job, and they were the only ones willing to remove the old insulation and install new. Jess and his crew showed up early, were neat and professional the entire time, and did the job exactly as they had promised for the quoted price. They trenched the perimeter and installed drain pipe and a sump pump, pulled out all the damaged insulation and vapor barrier and replaced with new, replaced all the rotting posts, fixed all the broken vent covers, and generally cleaned the whole crawlspace. We were so impressed that we called them out a few months later for pest control inside the house-yes, they do that as well and to the same high standards. Jordan (the owner, I believe) was great to work with and kept us updated on the schedule, then followed up to make sure everything was right afterward. He has since helped us evaluate another house that has standing water in the crawlspace even though it is not a job he could even service since it is 500 miles away. New Leaf Crawl Space is awesome! This company literally saved my home. During a pest inspection by another company, we discovered standing ground water left long undetected had ruined nearly all the support posts in the crawl space. After overpaying a different company to pump the water out, I was lucky enough to be referred to New Leaf for the repairs. Cameron and his team replaced all the bad posts, dug a french drain and installed a sump pump with alarm. The team was prompt, courteous, clean, and the price was very reasonable. When the pest control company returned to finish their job, they commented on what an excellent job New Leaf had done with the repairs. It's been over a year since the repair, and the crawlspace has remained dry. And on one of the follow-up checks (included in the price), Cameron voluntarily cleaned out the dryer vent free of charge. I was going to list my home for sale and the crawlspace was untidy. Eric came out and inspected thoroughly before making the bid. He explained everything to me and also informed me of a support issue with one of the beams (that they could fix). New Leaf's expertise was head and shoulders above the other guy who bid my job. New Leaf installed a vapor barrier in the crawlspace of our residence. The estimator was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions (I had a lot of questions). His bid was very reasonable (we had gotten others) and we scheduled the work for a couple of days later. Two people showed up on the appointed day and on time. They explained what they were going to do and got right to work. They were fast, clean and friendly. They did find a small (drip, drip, drip) in a drain pipe. Finished the entire vapor barrier but folded back the plastic where the drip was. Said plumber could fold it back or they would come back and do it. Plumber did it, no problem. Would not hesitate to call New Leaf again. read more

I had New Leaf install a sump pump three or four years ago, it recently during these heavy rains developed a problem. Because there was no one else available the owner of New Leaf came out and fixed my problem. He was under the house in 6 inches of water for at least an hour. When it when he was all finished and the problem was solved I got out my checkbook and he said no charge. Then he told me he was the owner and because none of the other guys wanted to deal with working in 6 inches of water he came. I was so impressed and I am still marveling at his commitment and kindness to an old lady with a sump pump problem. I can heartily recommend this company. read more

He wanted to make sure that I understood the overall process of installing the vapor barrier. He explained in detail how the installation process worked and was also willing to work with me and my expectations with the project. If I could give these people 10 stars I would! Cory is outstanding and all the workers were fast and did an excellent job. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. The people in the office were super great to work with as well. Not often do you find the entire crew from office to field so great to work with but this Company has it all! They came out and took care of our crawlspace and some carpenter ants as well. They redid insulation where it had come down from animals and put a new vapor barrier, removed the original wood forms from the concrete foundation (left there from when house was built in 1993), to lessen area from inviting termites, they sprayed around the outside perimeter and hauled the garbage away and even took some that another not so diligent contractor left behind.
