I called Dari at NW Deck & Fence sometime in the early winter to see what the process would be like for getting my deck and fence pressure washed and stained and Dari explained the ins and outs of the process and the limited time frame we have in the NW for doing these types of projects. Long story short, the time frame for doing this stuff in the Portland area is ridiculously slim, if you are lucky June - September (but even then its anyone's guess). After pressure washing, he has to wait for at least 48 hours of dryness before the stain can go on. So as soon as spring rolled around I called Dari up and he came out and gave a reasonable estimate. Don't slack on getting this type of work done, the earlier you get someone queued up to do this the better, there is a limited number of professional companies in the Portland metro and a very short window for doing this work. From start to finish Dari and his crew did an amazing job pressure washing my deck and then staining it after it finally dried (nice wet start to June didn't help). My deck was pretty beatup looking and my fence wasn't in great shape. Now it looks fantastic. They were also respectful of the plants around my fence and did their best to not harm them. Also he accepted credit cards which is great, earned some miles too! For you guys leaving one star reviews for the "insult" of not being called back, think about how your cowardly actions effect a small local business. You waited until the peak of the season to get this done, a guy working his ass off for his small business didn't call you back, so you leave a one star review. Really nice. Easy to do that kind of shit behind the anonymity of the internet. Bottom line: NW Deck and Fence does a bang up job. Don't be a slacker and get them lined up to do your house in the spring then hold tight until a weather window opens up. read more

We hired NDFR to replace 5 wobbly posts supporting our leaning fence. They exceeded our expectations for responsiveness, professionalism, and we enjoyed having them at our home. We chose them from a group of 3 different fence contractors because NDFR replied immediately to our phone call, visited our fence, and gave us a reasonable quote... all within 24 hours of calling them. Although our project wasn't a high-ticket job, like a full fence or deck install, NDFR made us feel like valued customers. Today our new fence posts are sturdy and our fence is upright again. Our neighbors love it. Besides quick responsiveness which distinguishes NDFR from other contractors, the team is composed of true craftsmen who are meticulous professionals. Our team, Grady and Tarjay showed us the old excavated fence posts and explained how the deeper holes for the new posts would affect our fence, without sacrificing the grade of the other existing fence panels. Although we'll stain the fence and posts ourselves, they told us about several products we could use to brighten our existing fence boards, and even offered staining tips. Our team was so friendly and efficient, that our next-door neighbor spent time chatting with them, and another neighbor told me that was impressed with the progress she observed. We are a property management company and we used NW Fence in a pinch to build us a fence. The Fence turned out better than expected! They were easy to communicate with and very flexible! When we ran into a issue with the neighbor they helped us a address the issue in a timely fashion. It started to rain during the project which pushed it back a week, however, when I called with concerns they got out immediately and finished it. The NW Deck and Fence response time from our inquiry was the fastest of 3 we tried. We had two different companies come assess the deck and fence and provide quotes. We opted for NW for a couple reasons. Dari did an excellent job explaining what they would do and how they do it. He assured us that we could expect complete satisfaction. Huge deck that needed stripping and refinishing. I do a lot of DIY but this was a job for a professional. Fortunately we found Dari and crew on yelp-we met the delightful Dari and got a great quote. No BS. His team means business! They were able to do the job earlier than stated-total bonus! And when it quickly became much more of a job to strip the deck than anyone anticipated (three different kinds of wood, and 20 yrs of built up deck stain/sealer) the team just worked harder and longer to get it done and get it done right. The level of detail and lengths they go to make a beat up deck look gorgeous amazed us. And it does look gorgeous! All the while- just professional and kind people. They care about what they do. We hired Dari to do some misc. deck work and what should have been a simple project turned into a disaster. Within 5 minutes of being onsite (called the morning of to tell me he was coming that day) he had spilled paint all over my front porch. I saw it happen as it slipped right out of his hands yet he told me sherwin Williams didn't put the lid on. My front porch doesn't look the same and the paint splattered on my house as well which was not removed. As Dari attempted to clean up the mess on the deck, his co worker did some wood work that all had to be replaced another day as Dari agreed it was not acceptable. Dari came back to replace and stain those boards and the stain had dripped on my deck and pavers. Less than a month later, a majority of the boards began to crack so I asked to have them replaced. After going back and forth with him for weeks and getting more and more frustrated, I simply gave up and accepted the fact that this is a loss and I will have to move on. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt the whole time but in the end, I couldn't. I hope this helps any potential customers. Needless to say, we will not be using them ever again and do not recommend. read more
