This was my first time here. Decided to pop in because it was the first nail place I saw while I was passing through. It is conveniently located in a shopping center and it is also across the street from the hospital. The place was quiet and clean. They provide a nice big tv for customers. Although they do not offer complimentary beverages to their customers at this location, the staff is very friendly and sociable with their customers versus talkIng amongst themselves or talking on their cell phone whilE doing your nails. They have plenty of gel colors to choose from. Their pedicure chairs appear very comfortable. They do not however have toddler or children sized pedicure seats. They accept cash or debit. I will be back if I am in the area again.

Basic manicure - did me so wrong

I got a Basic manicure and they kept painting all over my skin. Tools were definitely not sterilized. Very unorganized. And just not worth it. Take your money elsewhere

Ok so it's that time of the year when ladies and gents are getting those toes nicely done to be seen to the world! So I'm on the mission to write reviews of places I've visited to help someone out. First review is this spot. I was here on a recommendation of someone I trust (well not anymore). I'm really really picky when it comes to my feet because after all, it's in the hands of someone else's (literally)! It was busy when I came in so I looked at that as being positive. I proceeded to find my nail color. That was negative. The polishes were old, ugly colors, and no nice brands like OPI or at least Orly. Mental note: just bring my own polish. I proceeded to get my toes 'did'. I really didn't care about how the tech shaped my toes and I felt she was rushing. It's busy, I get it but I waited 45 mins so you could at least slow down so I can enjoy this weak chair massage. I notice that the nail tools were already sitting at the tech's station. I like to see the tools coming out of the cleaning machine thingy.. I asked her are the tools clean she said yes I rinse it. Urg... I like they have the nail dryer with the light to harden the color and make it last. All is well until I went home and propped up my feet up. Omgee!! The nail polish was horrible! See pix.... I went the next day back to the salon and the owner said she can polish over it to make it look nice. I knew that wasn't going to work but she insisted. Of course it didn't! The tech who did my nails offered to re-polish and the nail polish was doing the same thing of not polishing evenly or nicely. So I picked another color. It was better but still the polish did the same thing. I now contributed this madness to the polish of being old. What is more of a madness is for the tech to think it was ok. She asked if I wanted my hands done, I asked "you're going to do it free" She said, "no but I will do it nice for you" heck no!! you can't even do my toes nice. Maybe it depends on who does your nails and maybe if you bring in your own polish, you might have a better experience. Next...

Beware of this nail salon! What was supposed to be a nice, relaxing, and professionally done manicure turned into a nightmare. I went to Number 1 Nails (#1 Nails) about 2 weeks ago (February 23, 2023) to get a basic manicure since I had a function to attend that weekend. The nail tech injured my fingers with a cuticle cutter and my fingers were bleeding. She put my hand in water and then tried to hide my hand with her hand when I removed it from the water and took a picture. She kept wiping my fingers with the towel on her station and used green styptic liquid and crazy glue to try to stop the bleeding. She then began talking in her native tongue to the other worker (who I found out was the manager named Kim). Kim kept asking me if I was diabetic, if I was on medication, and if I had thin blood. I answered no to all of her questions. Kim then took over and tried to get the bleeding to stop. She sprayed my fingers with alcohol, used styptic liquid, applied pressure, and also used crazy glue. The lady who cut my fingers was apparently getting off work and she tried to hug me and repeatedly apologized on her way out. I was crying at this point and I just wanted to leave because my fingers were hurting and I also had concerns regarding possible contamination and infection. Kim firmly held my hands and insisted on putting clear polish on my nails even though I told her I didn't want that. (I found out later that wasn't what it was). She said it would take the attention away from the cuts and make it look better. She told me that all I needed to do was use antibiotic ointment when I got home and that the fingers would look better the next day. She asked me to text her the picture I took of my fingers. She also asked me to stop by the next day to check in with her (I did not). She walked me to the door, tried to hug me, and apologized. She then quickly shut and locked the door once I was outside (the door had been propped open when I arrived). Needless to say, I ended up at Patient First where they scrubbed my fingers with Betadine, gave me a tetanus shot, bandaged my fingers, and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. However, the story gets worse. I ended up having a severe allergic skin reaction to the antibiotic and was back at Patient First a couple of days later. I also realized over a week after the nail salon visit that she must have put gel on my fingers because it started to peel on a few nails and wouldn't come off with nail polish remover. It is still on sections of my nails. This whole experience was scary and TOTALLY unacceptable. I am still recovering from this ordeal....

I HIGHLY WOULD RECOMMEND FOR NO ONE TO COME HERE. The service is horrible and the these pictures of my nails were taking immediately right after getting my nails done and some taken the next day. The man with the receding hairline did my nails. He was very Rough while doing them. He cut my hand twice while filing. When he was Finnish, I did not realize how badly the nails looked because of how sore my nails were. So next day I called to set up an appointment to get them fixed. The next week, when I came for my appointment which was at 1:30, they had me sit and wait almost 25 minutes before I was even helped. When I calmly explain to the man with the receding hairline what was wrong with my nails he was very defensive and loud while causing a scene then I asked to speak with the manager who was also very rude and told me there was nothing she could do and my nails were going to look like this no matter how many times she redid them. Now I have gotten my nails done multiple times and I know that this is not how you do nails. The paint is literally running out of the frame of my nails and the shape of my nail is supposed to be square however the size of the nail is way too big for my finger and it looks awkward and goofy. I will never support this no class, bottom of the barrel, trash business again they were very rude, unprofessional and have no talent if they think this is how you do nails.

Terrible manicure. This was my first gel manicure. The pedicure was okay. The pictures say it all. The woman butchered my fingers. My fingers have been stinging from pain all day. Cuts and scratches around my nails. You can still see the dried blood. Would not recommend.

The staff was very sweet. However, I asked for wear black gel polish manicure and this is what I ended up with. Needless to say I will not be going back. Waste of $25.

She didn't show me a price list and ask what I would like. She asked what foot bath fragrance I wanted and later added the charge. While doing my nails she suggested eyebrow waxing because mine look like a "bush". Nails have bubbles in them. She cut my natural nails too short after I told her I wanted my length.

I'm obsessed with my nails! Went in for a fill. Showed what I wanted and got exactly that! Acrylic nails filled in white with gel "bare with me" and topped with chrome effect powder. I call it holographic. Love love how they came out. Kind service and very clean. I forgot to ask her name but she was sitting at the receptionist spot. Worth every penny! Thank you!

    Very clean and friendly

My only criticism isn't actually about the salon itself, but about the online booking system. It appears to be a platform used by many nail salons, and I find it difficult to navigate. Service descriptions are limited, making it hard to know exactly what you're booking, and choosing a technician is largely based on photos without much information about each person's specialties or experience. Once I arrived, however, the experience exceeded my expectations. The live piano player created a relaxing and unique atmosphere that I wasn't expecting and truly appreciated. Rose, the owner, took the time to listen to my concerns and preferences. She thoughtfully communicated them to the nail technician who worked with me, which helped me feel heard and understood. My nail technician was gentle, attentive, and considerate throughout the appointment. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would return. If the booking platform provided more detailed service descriptions and technician information, it would make an already great experience even better.

I pre-warned them that I'm a bit sensitive on my big toes and she still pulled the skin to wear and made me Yelp. They don't have OPI so I had to try to find a color that was similar to Cajun shrimp. They never offered anything to drink, even though it says they offer complementary beverages. They also will not allow you to tip on your credit card so if you don't have cash prepared to use the ATM or hopefully the technician you're with has some sort of Cash App. Pedicure came ok nothing I would brag about. People around me started before me and we're still being worked on when they had the same service as I after me. It's OK. The spots around my big toe are still dry and there was no cuticle oil or anything along those lines. When I went to pay, the guy told me it was $85 when I told him that was impossible because my service was $35 for the pedicure plus $15 for gel that did not equal $85. He said that he must've misread it. So I paid the right amount and headed out.

I want to preface this by saying I don't think I've ever written a Google review, good or bad, but…read moreI am so disappointed by this location's actions. My story begins when I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. My father-in-law bought me a gift card to the Landstown Anthony Vince Nail Spa so I could finally do something nice for myself while in the trenches of early motherhood with a newborn. Since I've since moved closer to Chesapeake, I called the Greenbrier location before my appointment and asked very clearly, "I have a gift card for the Landstown location. Can I use it at your location?" The immediate response I received was, "Yes, yes, you can," followed by additional information I couldn't understand due to a language barrier. Regardless, the answer to my question was "yes." I left my newborn with my husband, drove to the salon, and chose the most expensive pedicure because I thought I deserved a little treat and believed I'd be paying with my gift card. When I went to pay, I was met by the exact same employee. As soon as I handed him the gift card, he told me they couldn't accept it. I reminded him that I had called beforehand specifically to verify this, and he admitted he was the one I had spoken to. He acknowledged that he told me "yes," but claimed he had followed it by explaining that only gift cards purchased online could be used across locations. I asked for the manager. She also acknowledged that he initially told me yes, but insisted it was "miscommunication on both parts" and that I still had to pay. I genuinely don't understand how this was a miscommunication on my part. I called to verify something before spending money. I was told yes. I relied on the information your employee gave me. Instead of correcting their mistake, I was blamed for not hearing correctly. I explained that while I couldn't understand everything afterward, I absolutely understood the answer to my question: "Yes." I paid because I had already received the service, although I never would've chosen that pedicure had I known my gift card wouldn't be accepted. Before leaving, I told the manager I would dispute the charge if they refused to correct the mistake. She told me to contact corporate and, when I asked for the number, told me to find it myself. There is no corporate number because these locations are independently owned. I also submitted a message through the Anthony Vince website and never received a response. Almost a month later, I called again hoping someone would finally help. Instead, I was told the exact same thing: even though their employee misspoke, I was still responsible. This time they even tried to blame the Landstown location, saying the gift card policy should've been explained to my father-in-law when he bought it. Respectfully... who buys a gift card and has the terms and conditions read aloud to them? Even if he had, it doesn't change the fact that YOUR employee told ME "yes" when I specifically called to ask. What disappoints me most isn't the $80 (which could've been spent on diapers for my new baby). It's the complete refusal to take responsibility, apologize, or show any empathy. Every conversation ended with someone blaming me for relying on information their own employee gave me. I was also told they don't provide refunds for "services rendered". That explanation makes very little sense in the context of a salon, where every refund request would naturally involve services that were already performed. A business that stands behind its employees also stands behind their mistakes. Anthony Vince Nail Spa in Greenbrier chose not to. They've lost not only my business, but the business of eight of my family members who were shocked by how this was handled. We will not be back.

In the past, the place has always been a bit unkept, but I tended to overlook that because they used to have a young man who did great custom nail art. I'm not sure if he's there any longer but I didn't see him today and due to time constraints and availability I just asked for the first available. To be fair the ladies who worked on my daughter and I weren't rude but you do feel rushed. The mani/pedi I received today was nothing special but not terrible either. My lady first grabbed the wrong color and if I hadn't noticed and corrected her she would have used it, she was also bit stingy on the nail polish; I had asked prior to choosing a glitter nail polish I liked was opaque and was told yes, but it wasn't. I had to ask for extra coats for both my mani and pedi. (I used the same color). Sadly even after the extra coats some small parts of my nails are still showing through. Luckily it's not noticeable unless you're looking closer, no one is going to do that, but for the price...‍ While some employees weren't particularly busy during the visit, they were mostly on their phones. It would have been nice if that time was used to clean up the unused areas which could elevate the overall atmosphere. At check out the lady was about to charge me 40 dollars over the amount it should have been. When I corrected her and the other employee who was standing there they just went "oh" and changed it to a smaller number. I'm pretty sure I was charged $5-10 dollars over the actual amount owed but since I don't have the receipt on me I can't verify atm. Not a terrible experience but definitely not great either. My nails are fresh now, so I'll see how long they last.
