Tried this place for a regular mani and pedi and thought my technician Kim did a great job. I only go for these things about twice a year so I'm not a pro, but the salon itself - although busy - was a pretty chill environment. There were no TVs, which at first I was disappointed about, but after a while, the background music was very soothing and I felt myself relaxing more. I even got off my phone so I could be more present and enjoy the pampering. Everyone was nice. They prefer cash and give a 5% discount. They had a lot of colors to choose from, but it was difficult to understand which products cost extra. I also didn't see much in the way of designs, like nail art but maybe that is something you need to ask for. There was no upselling, which I appreciated. And it wasn't a rushed experience. Kim really went the extra mile making sure my callouses were removed from my feet with a scary cheese grater that tickled. And she fixed the parts I messed up because my nails weren't 100% dried. She also asked me if I liked the color once applying it the first time before she proceeded. Very professional job. I think the prices are pretty standard for nail services. They seem to keep really busy but like any salon making an appointment is best but they could probably accommodate walk-ins.

I am obsessed with my nails. I went in for a fill and was nervous because I moved and had to find a new place , the gentleman took his time for each nail and they are absolutely perfect. This will definitely be my new place and I'm so glad I found it!

Update: After speaking to the owners, they had me come back into the salon. I was set up with Quen. She did an awesome job and fixed up the mani and pedi. They look very clean with beautiful crisp edges. I booked with her for 2 weeks from now. I guess I got a rough first impression, but thankfully they truly care about the customers experiences and fixed that first impression. Previously: This was my first, and unfortunately will be my last time to this place. While the guy who did my nails was a nice guy, truly, and I loved they used that sort of "grater" tool to help with calluses and dead skin, my overall no-chip mani and normal pedicure was something left to be desired. I didn't notice all these flaws when I left, as you typically just want to get going and to top it, they were busy, but when I had a moment to really look over I saw all the flaws. I honestly do a better job with the polish on my own. I remember pointing out to him nail polish on my skin on my pinky which he fixed but I didn't see the toes up close until later. Also noted was a lack of brand options to choose from for polish. Thy really only have DND DC duo brand. I typically prefer OPI or Essie. Think I will have to keep driving to my old place. Nice people, clean location and decent colors to choose from, but not the greatest mani/pedi.

I recently fell out of favor with the nail salon I have been going to for the last 3 years due to inconsistent results, so after hitting what was my last straw, I decided to search for a new nail place. After a lot of researching, I stumbled across Nu Image. To make an appointment, I suggest calling. They are really responsive and I have often been able to get in on the same day (though I should caveat that I usually make appointments for mornings in the middle of the week). They have a lot, and I mean a lot of colors to choose from. This could be a really great thing or hard for folks like me who have decision paralysis lol. Their technicians are precise for both manicures and pedicures. I have been there 3 times now and I have gotten so many compliments on my nails. They have a solid customer in me!

Amazing! I was specifically looking for a place that can truly do "nail art" and they didn't disappoint. A fairly simple light pink to white gradient acrylic but rest assured I knew I was in good hands ;) definitely looking forward to returning to Nu Image Nails for a more bold nail art execution.

Sydney did such an incredible job on my nails. I came in with Bio Gel as a base and she easily filed and filled my nails with acrylic powder which was beautiful. I also asked for a lipgloss nail top and she put together the sweetest base and glitter combo. She was so nice and helpful, can't wait to come back next time I'm in Chicago.

The only place I go to! I was looking for a place with great reviews when I moved to the city last year. So I've been going here for over a year. I had a few people do my nails and liked it, but honestly now I only trust Kathy! The other people did a good job, but she does an exceptional job. Very detail oriented and my nails can last over three weeks and still look good.

Great little nail salon gem! My friend brought me and I was so surprised. I usually do not get my nails done professionally however I am considering making it routine after my visit here. I got acrylic nails, they look natural and are all the same size and shape. The woman who did my nails was also very gentle which I greatly appreciated. Something to note: this place only accepts cash tips! I mean, they willl take credit card tips...but for obvious reasons, prefer cash tips. read more

I think the thing that makes me update my review to 1 Star is the response I got from the owner. I don't usual write reviews regardless if the service was good or bad, however in this case I feel I should. Last Thursday, I went for a manicure and pedicure and decided to add on eyebrow waxing to touch up my eyebrows for an event. Was in the chair for like 5 minutes. Later in the day, the skin under my eyebrows were raw and began to scab, looking like a light layer of skin was removed while waxing. Didn't think much because it looked like it was healing. Two days later both eyes become swollen and looks like an infection on the skin tissue has formed. I had to go to both my eye doctor and urgent care and was prescribed steroids and ointment to calm the inflammation and help heal both eyelids faster. I really liked coming here because it was close to my place and they accepted walk ins and have done great work at a great price. Unfortunately due to this I will not return for any service as I cannot trust it any longer, not just here but anywhere for waxing. I am not allergic to the wax as I have had this type of service plenty of times unless there was a change in product. When I got to the salon the place was packed with ladies. Which would make sense because the weather was wonderful and it makes you want to get your nails done. I had scheduled my appointment for 4:20, when I got there and said I had an appointment the guy looked at my confused. He had me right my name down and wait. I understand waiting when it's super busy, but given I messaged ahead for an appointment, it was a bummer having to wait 15 minutes to get seated. Aside from the wait, the service was great. My technician was so sweet and friendly. I was debating between two colors and she helped me pick between them and I must say she really knows what she's doing. She took her time and made both my mani and my no-chip pedicure look amazing! I only paid $55 for both and it was totally worth it! Thank you so much for everything! Definitely want to go back again. Nu image never disappoints I go there so often I'm even called by my name! So thank you Sonny, Sydney and Helen for always making me feel welcomed! I'll keep supporting. Helen is my go-to woman. Amazing at ombré nails, seriously she's known for being amazing at ombré nails! My closest girlfriends see Helen she's talented! Nu image was great before the place was packed 24/7. I miss that era. Now if you had an appointment you'd have to wait a while. Helen used to be great, but then she would be very rough with my nails and would cut me around my nails. I would tip her 20$ extra every time because she really does great work she's just not gentle. Sadly I've found a new nail salon and nu image is a thing of the past now. I would consider coming back if the place expands more because there are way too many customers for the nail shop to run smoothly. read more

When I posted my review, the manager immediately reached out to me apologizing & offering to fix my nails for free or receive a refund. There was a bit of a delay in messaging on my part but the salon owner was very quick & diligent about following up with me. I understand that businesses have bad days or miss the bar sometimes and I appreciate that Nu Image did not try to make up excuses or throw the blame on me. They listened to my complaints & focused only on making this situation have a positive outcome for me. This salon is absolutely the best hidden gem in Chicago! When I moved back into the city I began my search for a salon that does acrylic sets and read countless reviews and did what felt like endless research. Once I settled on Nu Image making an appointment was fast and easy. I started getting my nails done here in October and have been diligently coming back every two weeks ever since then. The salon is always kept clean and tidy and the atmosphere is always welcoming and pleasant--you want to spend time here and relax. Sonny and Sydney are masters at their craft. I have never had any problems with my fills and my nails always last 2 weeks with zero problems. Even when I have them use regular polish the polish doesn't chip or dull until I come in again. Sydney is always game to try any design I bring to her. We've done everything from marble to rhinestones to chrome. If I bring a reference picture Sydney always tries her best to bring it to life. And if I don't know what I want I can always count on Sydney to come up with something cool and creative that I'll love. The nail polish selection is crazy--they have multiple variations of every color. And if you bring your own polish (which I've done once) there is never a problem in using it. I get the acrylic nails and my mom gets the gel set and we both love it. Their pedicures are great too. Everyone here really takes their time and does a marvelous job. And if there are ever any concerns they are addressed right away and resolved quickly--not that anybody should be having any problems because the staff is all amazing! Overall an absolute pleasure to come get my nails done here. I get endless compliments on my nails and I'm constantly telling everyone to come see Sydney and Sonny read more

I found a new nail salon!! This place was clean & very serene inside. Pretty busy (which I consider a good sign) and my nail tech Kim, she did an amazing job. She made sure that I liked the shape and color before continuing with my acrylic full set and gel nail polish; paying lots of attention to detail to make sure all the nails came out evenly and to my liking. I absolutely ADORE this nail shop. I've been to my fair share of nail shops over the years so I know exactly what a I like at this point. I live in Rogers Park but have always make the hike down to Bridgeport for my nails. I came here when my nail shop didn't answer the phone once and Christmas was in two days. Thank god for this place!! Steve is always my go to for my fills- he ALWAYS gets my nails the way I like them. Today, he wasn't there and I desperately needed my nails fixed. The shop was short staffed and quickly filling up but I was sat and taken care of in 12 minutes by the owner (I can only assume) while she took care of FOUR OTHER WOMEN!! She deserves an Olympic medal! This place is amazing and I am so happy that I found this little gem right by my apartment!! 10/10 would recommend read more

Nu Image is a very wonderful Spa to get Your nails done. Sonny & Sydney are wonderful. Sonny has been doing my nails & pedicure . He is very professional, I love the way my nails Turn out. They also last Me a month. No chip no cracks or breakage. They are amazing with strength when I do chores. I also get the pedi deluxe with paraffin, and a leg and foot massage . Place didn't feel or look very sanitized, which made me a bit uneasy. I came just for a classic mani. It was $12, not bad. The nail polish selection wasn't big and truthfully I had a hard time picking a nice color because there weren't many pretty different shades. My nail technician wasn't much of a conversation maker which was fine; I don't always want to be chatting. I did feel like she was rushing and I didn't like that. And sometimes other nail technicians distracted her. Overall, I think she did a good job on the manicure but I feel it could've been better. read more

Best place I've been to in the area for nails! The staff are super nice. And the best part, there's no rushing! They'll take as long as needed to make your fingers and toes perfection. It's clean. It can get crowded. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments make it easier. Sonny (the owner?) has always done an amazing job on my nails. We're talking not a single, even slight flaw. She's quick, but meticulous. And ditto for all the other techs I've had here. They have TONS of color choices! And unlike other places I've tried, they totally do gel fills, they always still cleanup your cuticles, and always do a hand massage. I don't know why it's hard to find a place that'll do all three things, but they sure do 'em here. The one downside is that even with an appointment, you'll probably still have to wait. But that's not a bad price to pay when you aren't rushed and they do perfect nails. And the prices they charge are super reasonable. Tips are cash only. You won't disappointed with your nails if you go here! read more

You will be greeted upon arrival. Pick your color, and receive prompt and friendly service. The gentleman who did my nails seemed to be a bit of a perfectionist. Bring cash to tip! I keep getting compliments on the nails and I can't stop staring at them. The pedicure was nice as well also and you get to sit in a massage chair while the magic happens. Nancy did an INCREDIBLE job with my dip manicure and pedicure. There was virtually no wait even on a Saturday afternoon. She was so sweet and took her time to get my nails exactly the way I want them. I usually have a hard time getting people to shape my nails the way I like them but she did it flawlessly! This place is awesome! I don't give five stars to A business, not until I have tried them and their services a couple times! The place is nice and clean! Nails are so well executed...comfortable and their color selection is amazing! I have a full set of gel nails in both occasions with chrome effects! They listen to what I want. I love this place. Everytime I have walked in, the owners are there. They're very nice and do a great job with both manicure and pedicure. I go in for acrylic and I love it. They always make my nails feel natural and they last a long time. You don't have to worry about it being clean. They sterilize all their tools for pedicures and clean the tubs right after each use. I recommend this place to all my friends and family. read more

I have FINALLY found my go-to nail place! Sydney is AMAZING! I honestly don't think I've ever kept up with my nails consistently until I started seeing her. I am a cosmetologist and I found the powder dip a couple years ago and fell in love. Being that I am constantly working with hair color, my nails stain very easily. Powder dip allows me to have any color I want and not be stained after a day of working. Every nail salon I've been to, my nails were either too thick, they would pop off, or I hated the shape. So I never stayed consistent with keeping up with my nails. Until Sydney started doing my nails. She's seriously amazing at her job. I'm SOOO happy I found her. I have also gotten a pedicure every time I go in for a fill because Kevin gives the best pedicures. His massages are amazing! I actually feel like I'm being pampered and totally relaxed. Huyen and Sonny are so wonderful and talented at what they do! Nu Image Nails is a great salon and even after going just a few times it's evident that they have long time clientele who greet staff when walking in and are met with familiar hellos and warm greetings. Nu Image is always efficient and accommodating, their staff is kind and gentle, and some of the best manicures and pedicures I've had. read more

The salon I usually go to was booked up, so I figured why not try somewhere new? Big mistake. The lash tech took forever (I was in the chair for 4 hours) and she glued my eyes shut not once but actually twice! After she finally finished the lashes looked terrible, absolutely not what I asked for and way too short. My natural lashes look longer with mascara than this "set" she put on. Clumps of glue everywhere and sparse lashes left all over my face. She asked me 4-5 times "you like it right?!" to which I responded with an unenthusiastic "yeah" because I was so mad I couldn't even talk about it and because I was beyond late after being stuck there way longer than anticipated. On top of all this dissatisfaction, she uncharged me an extra $40 at the end and asked for a second tip. I'm beyond upset and immediately made an appointment for my regular spa to clean up this horrible mess. I sincerely hope she can fix it.

This place by far has the best service! I spoke to sonny, he is a great guy because he approached me in a great manner. I asked for specifics and he took me straight to the brand of nail posh I requested, then to the best nail tech. I found them on yelp and they made me feel so comfortable. Lee did my nails and honestly I really enjoy when the nail tech goes into detail. She cleaned everything and went into detail. Also I noticed she barely spoke to people around her, which I appreciate because it's kind of rude. In the past, I've had incidents where I have ask the nail tech to do something and instead of trying to understand me getting upset isn't right. However, each time this has happened and trust me it's not to often because I'm really chill. I've noticed the nail tech suddenly start talking to techs nearby and it is obvious about you which is actually rude. However, The customer service here is a picture perfect example of how nail salons should be. They all speak English. The only thing I would say is that my nail tech took a bit longer than an hour but honestly my nails looks amazing so I'm not going to complain. Also I was very impressed that sonny remembered my name towards the end. Great business ethics. Highly recommend this place! read more

I have never had a home salon quite as spectacular as Nu Image Nails. I go to Sydney for my fill in, eyebrow wax, and eyelash extension. Everytime I go, Sydney puts special care into all my services, and is always helpful and accommodating. I truly enjoy myself every time when I'm there. I've been going here off and on for two years and they are always quick and very thorough. They'll suggest colors if you aren't sure, and gave me some good recommendations. I like that they take walk-ins pretty quickly too, and it's always busy with regulars. I've gotten no-chips and acrylic sets, no nail art so can't speak to that, but I have loved my nails ever since going! read more
