I am obsessed with my nails. I went in for a fill and was nervous because I moved and had to find a new place , the gentleman took his time for each nail and they are absolutely perfect. This will definitely be my new place and I'm so glad I found it!

Tried this place for a regular mani and pedi and thought my technician Kim did a great job. I only go for these things about twice a year so I'm not a pro, but the salon itself - although busy - was a pretty chill environment. There were no TVs, which at first I was disappointed about, but after a while, the background music was very soothing and I felt myself relaxing more. I even got off my phone so I could be more present and enjoy the pampering. Everyone was nice. They prefer cash and give a 5% discount. They had a lot of colors to choose from, but it was difficult to understand which products cost extra. I also didn't see much in the way of designs, like nail art but maybe that is something you need to ask for. There was no upselling, which I appreciated. And it wasn't a rushed experience. Kim really went the extra mile making sure my callouses were removed from my feet with a scary cheese grater that tickled. And she fixed the parts I messed up because my nails weren't 100% dried. She also asked me if I liked the color once applying it the first time before she proceeded. Very professional job. I think the prices are pretty standard for nail services. They seem to keep really busy but like any salon making an appointment is best but they could probably accommodate walk-ins.

Update: After speaking to the owners, they had me come back into the salon. I was set up with Quen. She did an awesome job and fixed up the mani and pedi. They look very clean with beautiful crisp edges. I booked with her for 2 weeks from now. I guess I got a rough first impression, but thankfully they truly care about the customers experiences and fixed that first impression. Previously: This was my first, and unfortunately will be my last time to this place. While the guy who did my nails was a nice guy, truly, and I loved they used that sort of "grater" tool to help with calluses and dead skin, my overall no-chip mani and normal pedicure was something left to be desired. I didn't notice all these flaws when I left, as you typically just want to get going and to top it, they were busy, but when I had a moment to really look over I saw all the flaws. I honestly do a better job with the polish on my own. I remember pointing out to him nail polish on my skin on my pinky which he fixed but I didn't see the toes up close until later. Also noted was a lack of brand options to choose from for polish. Thy really only have DND DC duo brand. I typically prefer OPI or Essie. Think I will have to keep driving to my old place. Nice people, clean location and decent colors to choose from, but not the greatest mani/pedi.

I recently fell out of favor with the nail salon I have been going to for the last 3 years due to inconsistent results, so after hitting what was my last straw, I decided to search for a new nail place. After a lot of researching, I stumbled across Nu Image. To make an appointment, I suggest calling. They are really responsive and I have often been able to get in on the same day (though I should caveat that I usually make appointments for mornings in the middle of the week). They have a lot, and I mean a lot of colors to choose from. This could be a really great thing or hard for folks like me who have decision paralysis lol. Their technicians are precise for both manicures and pedicures. I have been there 3 times now and I have gotten so many compliments on my nails. They have a solid customer in me!

Sydney did such an incredible job on my nails. I came in with Bio Gel as a base and she easily filed and filled my nails with acrylic powder which was beautiful. I also asked for a lipgloss nail top and she put together the sweetest base and glitter combo. She was so nice and helpful, can't wait to come back next time I'm in Chicago.

Amazing! I was specifically looking for a place that can truly do "nail art" and they didn't disappoint. A fairly simple light pink to white gradient acrylic but rest assured I knew I was in good hands ;) definitely looking forward to returning to Nu Image Nails for a more bold nail art execution.

The only place I go to! I was looking for a place with great reviews when I moved to the city last year. So I've been going here for over a year. I had a few people do my nails and liked it, but honestly now I only trust Kathy! The other people did a good job, but she does an exceptional job. Very detail oriented and my nails can last over three weeks and still look good.

I'm not usually a person that would leave negative reviews but i had to do it this time because every time i look at my nails, I want to cry so bad and I regret going here last night. This was my first visit to this salon because it was near my work, and I got dip powder with extensions ($50) and a reg pedicure ($30), which came out to be a total of $83 because they charge extra $3 for shapes like almond, coffin etc. I am so disappointed with how my nails turned out! Because I told them I wanted baby pink dip powder as base with glitters on top, but I should have mentioned that I wanted a glitter polish for the top. I showed the 1st picture to the front desk lady and I assumed she knows what I wanted, but I was wrong to assume that because It did not turned the way I wanted at all! Also I was charged extra $3 for coffin shape, and please tell me if I'm wrong, but this looks more like a square shape than coffin shape. And before anyone comes at me for getting a long extension for dip, the nail tech recommended it because she said that coffin shape won't show unless the nail is long enough even though I wanted shorter initially. The worst part is I'm going out of town for a week today so I don't even have time to go back to the salon to get it fixed. And now it seems like I either have to deal with it or get it fixed elsewhere during my vacation. The pedicure was mediocre honestly because there was not much of exfoliating involved unlike other spas but I'd still rate it around 4/5 because i noticed that she didn't applied enough nail polish on some of the toes so you can sort of see the unevenness. But it looks okay from far and that's all that matters. I just know for a fact that I won't be going back to this salon because with that price I paid for, there are other places with better nail techs in the area within the same price range. So disappointed.

I live nearby this salon. They are professional and have pretty good ventilation and ambiance. Someone nearby me was blasting a very loud video however and no one said anything except listen to this video about like some woman's love affairs for like 30 mins... I got no chip and pedi. The pedi is going strong, but the no chip was rather disappointing. I will be going elsewhere for no chip. This place is large and decent. read more

Ask for Helen, she's good! I'd recommend booking an appointment because she works different hours therefore , she's not always available to take walk-ins. Both Helen and Sonny are really good! I won't let anyone else touch my nails. I struggled with finding a good shop so I'll keep coming here as long as they continue to do my nails this good! read more

I've been to this salon a couple times and I've always liked how my nails come out. This time I got no chip acrylic set. I always like simple nails, but I was looking to get some hello kitty design (since I like her a lot) and turns out they have hello kitty stickers! It was also my first time getting a pedicure from this salon. My nail tech was so nice and sweet I believe her name is Yuen. I saw all the reviews and I thought this place was going to be good, so I decided to give it a chance. I called ahead of time to make an appointment and when I got there I stood there for 5min, until finally someone told me to sign the notebook. (No greeting whatsoever) I got an older gentleman (black hair, glasses about late 40/50s) I showed him a picture of what I wanted and asked if he could do it and said yes then proceeded to ask me what colors. I told him pink/ white ombré on one hand and black/ pink ombré on the other hand (which I have gotten before in a different salon so it's not impossible) We sat down and he started doing my nails and I noticed he only brought out pink and white. So I showed him the picture again and he said no to black because it was a dark color and it wasn't going to look good with the pink. So I worked with him and chose light blue. He started working on my acrylics, didn't do my cuticles, and I thought maybe he was going to do it at the end.( He did not.) While he was working on my pink and white he did my whole hand and I saw the color and It wasn't anything like the picture so I told him that wasn't the color I had asked for. I showed him the picture again and he said that wasn't the picture I first showed him, it was. I even pointed out the black ombré that he said he wasn't able to do. But he kept on repeating that it wasn't the picture I had showed. After going back and forth, he then told me that they no longer carry the color I wanted. I let it go and I told him to just do white then. He hadn't started my left hand so he did that one white and then rudely said "what do you want me to do with this hand?" and I said I just want it white and he kept on repeating "well what do you want me to do" and I said just file it down, he said "that's gonna take a long time" he then sat there for a bit and finally started to file it down, did the white and I was done. My nails look nothing like I expected. I was trying to work with him and be patient but all I got was a really rude attitude. I will definitely not be going back. I'm pretty sure not everyone is rude and don't know how to do certain things but I was not happy. read more

This place is probably a hidden gem. Or at least it was for me. It's literally at the end of my alley. The space is very nice and clean. The pedi chairs are gorgeous and new. Kim did my set and was so sweet and incredibly efficient. She finished the whole thing with a quick hand/arm massage that felt SO wonderful. This place is great. They can do so many creative things and I've never had trouble getting in when I need to. I've gotten "cat eye"-effect nails, marble nails, and even matte. Before going here, I didn't even realize any of that was possible. One of the older ladies does hold fingers a bit too tightly and I've let out an audible "ow" a couple of times, but honestly my grandma has a tight grip too so I think it's just something that older ladies develop to show they're still badass? :p Who knows. Either way, it's always clean, efficient, and dependable. read more

My first visit to Nu Image was made in sheer panic. The nail salon is been going to for years had messed up my appointment time and were unable to accommodate me. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but we had our first family portraits with our 3 month old the following morning. I called multiple salons in the hopes someone would be able to fit me in. After 7 tries, I was ready to give up and made one last call to Nu Image. They couldn't have been nicer and were able to take me last minute. It's been 2 weeks since that appointment and my no chip has held up better than one has in years. Outside of the outgrowth, they are still in amazing condition. The salon itself is huge and the techs are knowledgeable and super sweet. I may have found them out of need but this is definitely my new spot! read more

***UPDATE*** Updating my 2 star to a 1 star since Sonny decided to lie in his response. He did contact me and I took him up on his offer to make it right. Little did I know, this meant me pretty much paying full price for a new set sans a $5 discount on my pedicure. When I went in for service Sonny asked if I wanted a fill or new set so it's super weird that he would say my nails were dry and brittle when I came in and since when did long nails equal breaking? I wear my nails at a medium length so they aren't even crazy long either. I understand everyone has bad days what I don't understand is not simply owning up to it. So yes Sonny I have found a new salon with great workers and even better customer service. I started coming here last year when I started wearing acrylic nails again based on their great reviews. I was very happy with the work until my last few visits. It started when I made an appointment with Sonny for a new full set. I waited 45 minutes after my appointment time before deciding to let someone else do them because he was starting with a new customer and I didn't want to wait even longer for him to finish. I didn't make an appointment for my last visit and I don't remember the name of the woman who did my fill but it was a terrible job. Within the first week my 2 thumb nails broke. One tip popped off at work while typing and the other popped off the next day while getting dressed. I went to have them fixed which took 45 minutes which includes 20 minutes of wait time. The same person who did my fill fixed the nails and despite remembering I was in a week prior still charged me. The charge isn't even the issue, I'm more upset about the 20 minute drive there and back plus 45 minutes for service. Fast forward to today (now within 2 weeks of the fill) and 2 more nails break! Every other time I've gotten them done here they have lasted 3 weeks, I've even pushed it to 4 weeks before without issue. I have broken nails before and it was totally my fault but not this time. They were just not done properly. I will be going somewhere else to get them removed and get a new set because I don't have time to waste in a nail salon every week for nails that should last 3. It's a waste of money getting no chip polish when the nails themselves don't last. read more

I am updating my previous review. Sonny, the owner, contacted me immediately after my posting to ask about my services, the provider and what happened. Because they (the owners) are always in the shop, he asked that if I ever received poor service to let them know immediately and not to leave unhappy. You can always ask to speak to them separately so it is not public in the shop. After confirming my services, he offered me a gift card or refund. He also asked me if I remember the provider so that he can make sure that it doesn't happen to other customers or in the future. I really appreciate owners that stand by their products and services and provide outstanding customer service. I will go back and give them another chance knowing that they really care about their customers. Thank you, Sonny!! read more

Favorite nail salon. Sydney and Josie do the best nails!!! I always get acrylic full set with chrome, rose gold, ombré, etc. they do it ALL. They shape square nails amazzziiinnggggg !!!!!! And the nails aren't left thick. They look natural. Lots of colors for no chip to choose from if you're going for a No chip mani. Prices are very reasonable. Nail salon is clean and spacious. I love coming here. read more

I've been going here a few years now. I still really love it! I still enjoy a dip manicure and now I do the no chip pedicure. The dip manicure lasts about 4 weeks and my no chip pedicure is still going strong. Highly recommend making a reservation as this salon is usually busy! read more

The first time I got my nails done here I was so happy with the results. The second time I've come here an older man did my nails and he was clearly sick. He was trying hard not to cough and at one point pulled his mask down to reveal a red nose which then he wiped with his hand and went back to working on my nails. I've tried everything I can think of to get better service since my first visit. I've made appointments and have done walk in all with the same results. I ask for nail art before they start. But I get the older lady in the back row who cuts me least three times during service. Last time I had to ask her to disinfect because I was bleeding and she just ignore it. She couLed be gentler, maybe all the tugging and yanking would prevent the cuts. Second, I have to wait for another person to become available to do the nail art. When I call, I tell them what I want, give me what I ask for. Also I think it's not professional to put thinner in polish to get more. Thinned down polish means you are cheap and don't value your customer. Can't you afford new bottles of polish. Regarding nail art, was told they don't do ombré, but then I saw them do it on a customer who was getting acrylic nails. Maybe I wasn't worth the time because I was getting a cheaper service. Acrylics get the best services, ombré, marbling, intricate patterns. Was told the person who does nail art comes in on Thursday only. You need to train more techs even in the simplest designs like lines and dots. The pedicure is good despite being cut. read more

This place turned me back onto acrylics! They know all the trends such as chrome, matte etc. and have great, affordable prices. I come back every 2-3 weeks for a fill and the occasional pedicure. I highly recommend. read more

My CoWorkers recommended Nu Image and I decided to give it a try. They greeted me immediately after entering, such a nice and peaceful environment and because of the covid I appreciate that they are keeping space between workstations. the whole appointment was smooth. This is a hidden gem. It is clean, well run, and offers a variety of nail services. My pedi was awesome, she got off all the dead skin and my feet still look "hydrated" 24 hours later...and all under an hour. They prefer cash tips if you can remember. read more

I've never been to a better nail salon for this price. $18 for an acrylic fill? Wow that is so cheap and amazing for how perfect this work was. It was fast, easy and they did an equally amazing job at my pedicure, I will be going out of my way to continue coming back here. read more

I waited two weeks to post a review to see if my no-chip stood the test of time. It did! Two weeks and no chipping at all. I had a no-chip mani and a pedi done by Lee and it was one of the best mani/pedis I've ever gotten. It didn't feel rushed and she paid so much attention to details such as cuticles and multiple coats of nail polish. Will 100% be coming back. read more

I feel like I know the best secret ever by going to Nu Image. It's better than any nail salon downtown or elsewhere in the city. Every technician is so friendly. They always offer to help you pick a color, they know how to do a lot of cool designs and I've seen them do designs that girls request after seeing on Instagram. The owner is always in and she's great! WheneverI have a painful broken acrylic they really take their time to fix it in making sure they don't hurt you. I've never gotten a pedicure but I'm sure they are just as great as the fingernail service! Prices are also very good. I will never go anywhere else! read more

Moved to Chicago from NYC a few weeks ago and needed to find a nail salon that was fairly priced and offered designs (acrylic, chrome, nail art, marble, etc.) So glad I found this on Yelp. The woman who did my mani and pedi was so precise and took her time! I got chrome done on my natural nail and it looks so good! I was warned it wouldn't last as long on natural nails (I know that but idc about that) but at least I was advised. The decor is like any nail salon ( some people take that a little too seriously), but it's clean and efficient. Def. will come back! read more

My sister and I came here for the first time and had an amazing experience. We came in with a picture of a Disney nail design we wanted and it came out beautiful considering it was their first time. They definitely nailed it! I was impressed! And it was my sister's first no chip. They are clean, friendly, and are very attentive to the detail of their work. Kim really took her time with my nails, she was so slow and clean. I usually do one coat of funny bunny and one coat of bubble bath. But this time it was 2 coats of funny bunny (that's why it's so white) and one coat of bubble bath. But I still love it! She did two coats on the bottom cause she wanted it to be smooth. This is the first time my no chip looked this good! read more

This place is amazing! I was a first timer last week and I will now be a regular. The pedicure was outstanding and the gel nails turned out beautiful. That's a hidden gem I've never known about! I randomly went there like month ago, I was looking for a place to get my nails done on Sunday afternoon, and there is not a lot of places around open on Sunday So, I've got a coffee shaped nude acrylic nails with no chip on top and honestly, I would never expect acrylic nails to last me for almost a month!!! Nothing ever lasts more than a week cuz of my work (I'm a personal trainer and also I bartend) Also I got just a regular pedicure with classy red polish, and that look still good Oo idk it's a miracle Any ways, I came back yesterday to get a new full-set and the girl was so generous to offer me not to spend an extra money and she said she can fix whatever is a lil messy and do just a fill-in Also she offered me a new chrome finishing that just came in, so I got that this time Absolutely love the owner (and she is the one who gets my nails done), really sweet, generous and passionate girl! I think I've found my regular spot, and I definitely would tell you to give it a chance and you won't be disappointed, promise! And also they have a private parking which is awesome! read more

I came here after a thorough yelp search. Sydney lived up to the yelp expectations. I had so many questions about acrylic/gel and she was so patient and explained everything. I loved that she would constantly check her work with great detail. This is a full set acrylic powder ombré in nude I believe. It's a lot of work and she never huffed or puffed. I've had my nails done here 4 times by Helen, Josie and Sidney. The salon is clean, has great color selection and everyone is professional, friendly and fast. I got an acrylic fill in with gel polish last Sunday and my polish on 7/10 nails was peeling and chipping by Friday. I called Saturday and they told me to come in today (Sunday) and they'd fix it. I was under the impression that they had a 10 day no chip guarantee like all the other nail salons I'd patronized. They fixed my polish for me but then I found out their policy is only 7 days, not 10 so I'd have to pay $10 (The fee is normally $20 so they were giving me a discount). They ended up not charging me anything due to my own assumption of the policy being 10 days vs 7 days, which was really nice and much appreciated because I should have clarified when I called in yesterday! Will make sure to bring cash for a tip for that nice gesture next time I'm there. I definitely recommend this salon for anyone in the area! read more

The salon I usually go to was booked up, so I figured why not try somewhere new? Big mistake. The lash tech took forever (I was in the chair for 4 hours) and she glued my eyes shut not once but actually twice! After she finally finished the lashes looked terrible, absolutely not what I asked for and way too short. My natural lashes look longer with mascara than this "set" she put on. Clumps of glue everywhere and sparse lashes left all over my face. She asked me 4-5 times "you like it right?!" to which I responded with an unenthusiastic "yeah" because I was so mad I couldn't even talk about it and because I was beyond late after being stuck there way longer than anticipated. On top of all this dissatisfaction, she uncharged me an extra $40 at the end and asked for a second tip. I'm beyond upset and immediately made an appointment for my regular spa to clean up this horrible mess. I sincerely hope she can fix it.

This place by far has the best service! I spoke to sonny, he is a great guy because he approached me in a great manner. I asked for specifics and he took me straight to the brand of nail posh I requested, then to the best nail tech. I found them on yelp and they made me feel so comfortable. Lee did my nails and honestly I really enjoy when the nail tech goes into detail. She cleaned everything and went into detail. Also I noticed she barely spoke to people around her, which I appreciate because it's kind of rude. In the past, I've had incidents where I have ask the nail tech to do something and instead of trying to understand me getting upset isn't right. However, each time this has happened and trust me it's not to often because I'm really chill. I've noticed the nail tech suddenly start talking to techs nearby and it is obvious about you which is actually rude. However, The customer service here is a picture perfect example of how nail salons should be. They all speak English. The only thing I would say is that my nail tech took a bit longer than an hour but honestly my nails looks amazing so I'm not going to complain. I have never had a home salon quite as spectacular as Nu Image Nails. I go to Sydney for my fill in, eyebrow wax, and eyelash extension. Everytime I go, Sydney puts special care into all my services, and is always helpful and accommodating. I truly enjoy myself every time when I'm there. I've been going here off and on for two years and they are always quick and very thorough. They'll suggest colors if you aren't sure, and gave me some good recommendations. I like that they take walk-ins pretty quickly too, and it's always busy with regulars.
