a piece of cake on a plate

Returned after 2 years for their traditional tirimisu, still as good as I remember it!

This place is located at the front of an industrial complex where I was getting my car serviced. I dropped in for a coffee and snack while waiting. They have a lot of pastries and cakes on display, and a selection of gelatos. There's also a sandwich counter and some gourmet looking foods in fridges. Seating is limited to two tables of four. I opted for a cappuccino and a puff pastry. The coffee was good but the pastry wasn't nearly as good as it looked and I was surprised that they put it in the microwave oven before serving it. It looked really good like it would be flaky and crispy but it turned out to be a little soggy and not much filling inside. I was a little disappointed.

Bought a variety of different desserts. The desserts were all delicious. Staff was very friendly and the prices for the desserts were reasonable. Not only do they sell desserts and pastries, they also sell bread, gelato, and hot foods as well.

Novello Desserts is a small family owned bakeries in Markham area. It is nestled on the side street surrounded by auto body shops and industrial units. Novello Desserts makes all their offerings in house, that includes gelato, baked goods and hot food. The Cappuccino is A-OK.. a strong roast. Tasted great with the little white chocolate nutty cookies I ordered. I told the lady I want my coffee to stay and when I was checking out their cookies, she already made that in a freaking paper cup... sigh.. maybe those mugs are for decoration only?? Drinking my coffee facing the Gelato is not recommended.. as fending off the temptation of having a gelato right there is not easy....... for $3.75 you will get this big cup, though I stuffed from my lunch and I know I can still eat that with no problem. The sandwiches though are not as appetizing as everything is pre made and the server just snap them all together.. but the ciabatta buns they served on looks so good. I just watching a couple wolfed down their veal sandwiches in recorded speed. The freezer does have pasta sauce, frozen cakes and other Italian food for purchases. I guess I have to come back to try their Gelato next time!!

Was in the neighborhood and dropped in. This is an Italian bakery with traditional items. I purchased a few items. All were what you would expect. They were fresh, crispy and not too sweet. I definitely would go back and try some of their other offerings.

Nice little bakery tugged away in a industrial looking area on Bullock. This Italian bakery offers a big selections of desserts. The mini desserts are perfect size, around $1.5 each. They have canoli, eclairs, tiramisu, mini cheesecakes, cupcakes, cookies etc. Selection is plentiful. Cakes are decently priced around $25-35 depending on the cake. I picked up cake and mini desserts for a party and was not disappointed. Next time I would like to try their gelato. They also offer frozen Italian food as well but I have yet to try. One major downside is that they close fairly early so I can't grab a desserts post dinner

Went there for a second time. It's a great place to visit after a 3 hour trail. I had gelato (coffee and hazelnut favour for me and vanilla favour for my dog). I loved mine. Not sweet (I'm not a fan of sweet things). I should say it's just right amount of sweetness. For coffee favour, the coffee bean mixed inside is a brilliant idea. It balanced off the sweetness but it's not bitter either. I'm so thrilled that hazelnut is good too. Forgive me for limited vocabulary. All I can say is that my gelato is better than the favour of Starbucks hazelnut coffee lol. My dog loves her vanilla gelato too. She finished in a minute and she still wants more. We also got a box of pastry. Unfortunately, we finished most of it before I can even take a picture. We had almond tart, Cannoli, sfogliatella, and some others that I cannt recall their names. The tiramisu is awesome. the coffee beans on top is genius. and everything else is good too. The sfogliatella just reminded me of the ones we had at Naples. One in short, a great place to visit. Definitely worth a check out and some take out (I bet you want some take out after eating some in store lol).

I liked my experience at Novello's. Service was friendly and helpful in explaining what each dessert consists of. We ordered: Sfogliate ($2.50) - Novello's sfogliate isn't the shell-shaped good that you might come to expect - rather it is oval-shaped with powdered sugar and cinammom on top. It's a layered, light, and not too sweet pastry that has delicious custard inside of it. For its size, the price is really worth it. It's a pastry big enough for two. I really liked this pastry and would recommend it - it's not a dessert that leaves you with a heavy and full feeling - it's a light dessert with the right amount of sweetness. Six cookies (100g/$2.50) - these were Italian cookies - they weren't labelled but they were drizzled in either dark or white chocolate. They're thin and crunchy and came with what tasted like a hint of almond. They weren't my favourite to try but they're a treat nonetheless - they'd probably go well with coffee. Blueberry cheesecake bite ($1.25) - pretty good and well-presented, this was a nice small bite and worth the price. I'd recommend Novello's - they have a variety of pastries and desserts, coffee, gelato, frozen Italian dinners to take home, and cakes for order. The value is good too! The sfogliate was a pastry that I thoroughly enjoyed and I will definitely be going back to try their other sweets, gelato, and frozen entrees.

Came here for a cappuccino and some cookies while I got my car worked on next door. There were many cake options to choose from but I did not get a chance to try any. Got a mixture of cookies. Most of them were decent. Many of them tasted like butter cookies. I'm sure if I get a chance to try their cakes they would get a higher review. Service was very friendly and fast. Seems like they have been around for a while. Hope they can continue on but just don't know how they manage next to all those auto shops and garages.

Their mochi taro cake is loaded with taro paste and the layer of mochi was just enough- you can taste some in each bite and not too much. This bento is a generous portion for 2 and only costs $15! They also have other flavors such as chestnut which we also love. Also worth mentioning, they have walk-in specials that are cheaper than the price on their website ($8 vs $15).

Just remember to have your phone number ready! They have pretty interesting flavours but this time got the Matcha Red Bean Mochi Cake. The matcha flavours were good and not too sweet, and complimented the red bean nicely. I did really enjoy the mochi layer. The cake itself was also very light. I don't really know what the things on top of the cake were (dried figs?) but we didn't eat them, so not sure if they're edible. I'm usually the cake-person for my friends and family, and I definitely will be ordering from here again, especially to try the other flavours. 10/10 would come again! Tip: my cake came with a sparkler. I didn't get a choice in candle, so beware!

Their designs are abundant on the website and they really get the design to a tee, it was PERFECT. Flavour selection is pretty good and I did have a short call with them while ordering on their site to determine which flavour was recommended as well as what colours I wanted the cake design to emphasize. I had to check Google reviews to confirm instructions on their location, but when I got to the Langham Square plaza it was easy enough to find based on their address (unit number 2006). Staff gave clear instructions at pick up to keep the cake in the floor of the car during transport and to store the cake in a fridge until ready to eat. The box for transport was great because I got to check the design easily before leaving and the ribbon was tightly wrapped to secure the box cover to the base. I have eyed this place for years and finally dropped by. It's across from The Origin where the Cineplex VIP theatre is. I parked in the lot on the northwest corner of Andre de Grasse Street and Enterprise Boulevard, next to Grande Burrito that used to be Copper Branch. Parking is free. It's steps away from Patisserie Fleur. It's such a charming bakery. I saw croissants in the display case to my left that I wanted to devour. The seating area was cozy and clean design-wise. There were two women behind the counter. They said hi. They were kind to let me take a look at everything in the display cases before I made any decisions. This store had Korean macarons. Perfect! I got a mixed box. The desserts look beautiful and yummy. I also got heart peach oolong tofu cheesecake. I paid with a credit card. Prices are on the higher side. My heart cheesecake was $8.50 and my box of five Korean macarons were $19.50. I will say that the packaging is awesome. I have a feeling that the price takes into account the premium boxes that my items were safely in. They were classy and nice. I thanked the woman who helped me with my order. I grabbed my goodies and walked back to my car. I then headed home. I had the heart peach oolong tofu cheesecake. It was so good. It was slightly sweet, which I appreciated. The peach flavour was perfect. The cheesecake was smooth. You can't tell that it's tofu. I brought in the macarons for my friend and me to enjoy at work. The mix box had these flavours: - Strawberry - Mango - Pistachio - Earl grey - Matcha I remembered to bring a knife into work. No, I'm not a violent person seeking revenge on an evil colleague. It was to split each macaron, so we could taste each one. We went with the earl grey first. The tea flavour was subtle. It had more of a lemon flavour. The flavour strengths should have been reversed. We loved the strawberry. It tasted like a strawberry milkshake. So good! The matcha had a strong, bold matcha tea flavour. I probably liked it more than my friend. We both loved the mango and pistachio. This place does fruit fillings so well. The mango was bright and fresh. The pistachio was delicious. This place also has drinks. I hope to consume one the next time that I'm there. I loved everything that I sampled. It's nice getting special baked goods from this place from time to time. It runs on the expensive side, but it makes sense giving the quality of ingredients that comprise these yummy delicacies. I'll be back for more, but it won't be weekly. (441)
