Heard about these Bundt cakes for a while. This is our first time trying one. It is pricey but nice presentation. I like that you can customize lite frosting. I found it to be a little too sweet. The Carrot cake wasn't dry and you could taste the actual carrots throughout. I would try other flavors. Cute little cake shop set up. It is Bright and inviting.

My normal location is the one in Shortpump, however this one is closer now. We've been in this location several times and it's a pretty basic transaction. We walk in, they take our order, and we are out. If I have a question they try their best to answer or get the answer. The cakes on the other hand are VERY DELICIOUS, which is why we go. There are several other party related items you can purchase there. The decor is pretty festive. Nothing Bundt Cake is a must have, if you haven't tried them!

A friend and I stopped in today to have some sweet treats and wow we were both amazed with this place. Not only does it offer amazing and delicious baked goods, but it also has hot food, alcoholic beverages, along with a lot of cute items for sale. It was painful to stand in line to place my order because once I thought I had figured out what I wanted, I saw something else that looked equally delicious. I ended up with a slice of salted chocolate caramel cake, which came with extra salted caramel, and it was delicious! I couldn't eat it all so it was nice to have the rest of the piece later at home. My friend got one of the Shindigz cookies and raved about it. She said it was one of the best cookies she's ever had. They have indoor and outdoor seating and as today was a nice day, we sat outside in a little garden area that had fountains and was very nice. If you have a sweet tooth and a hankering for something delicious, Shindigz is the place to go!

You walk in and can order small bites, cocktails, or coffee drinks at the camper right in front, then you can peruse their various gift options, and then you get to the dessert counter where you'll see their giant cakes, pies, and other offerings. Or, you can skip right to the dessert options! I have yet to have a bad dessert here, but favorite include their Oreo mocha pie, any version of Oreo cake, cannoli, and their homemade Oreos. Service is always warm and friendly, and there are lots of tables to sit inside or outside in their garden area! A Richmond staple and for good reason!

But if it doesn't- WOW! Best vegan pastries I've ever had, and I say that as a vegan of 10 years. We got the chocolate & pb cake which was incredible. It was moist, flavorful and not too heavy or too sweet. The cosmic brownie was a winner, and I was so happy to eat a chocolate croissant for the first time since going vegan! We tried a cupcake which was light and airy, with delicious frosting that wasn't too sweet, which I have found common with vegan sweets made by non vegan bakeries. We also tried the breakfast sandwich and burrito, which were so delicious and flavorful. My friend said she wouldn't have known any of it was vegan. We also picked up some cute stickers, and browsed their vegan snack shelf. The staff was so kind, and carefully packed up 4 pastries for me to bring back to California. They made it safely through 2 flights and multiple car rides! I love how this is a community hub, with meals you can purchase to pay it forward, a bulletin board of announcements, free library, and inclusive signage. We felt so welcome here, and I loved the bathroom stickers and framed review on the wall. There is NOTHING better than supporting a fully vegan business who fights for what is right. I will be dreaming of Minglewood's goodies until the next time I find myself out in Richmond. Thank you for ALL you do!

That employee also completely ignored me, despite the fact that I was clearly standing there waiting to be helped. I was there to pick up a DoorDash order for someone else, but based on the way I was treated, I can guarantee you I will not be choosing to spend my own money at this establishment. I ultimately had to ask another customer who was standing in line if they knew where to pick up a DoorDash order. The entire experience was incredibly dismissive and unprofessional. A simple acknowledgment or, at the very least, "We'll be with you in a moment" would have made a huge difference.

The ambiance was clean and orderly. Upon entering, you grab a serving tray lined with parchment and some tongs. The items are in a glass enclosed display that you have to open and place your selections on your tray for purchase. I settled on the pistachio cream filled pecan pastry, the almond twist, and strawberry shortcake. The beverage menu was extensive: matcha, flavored teas, cocoa, espresso/coffee, and more. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,

I had been here once before and ordered my friend a birthday mini fruit tart and myself a cake. I remember wishing the cake was a bit more moist and curious to try other desserts. I'm so happy I returned. This time I ordered the turtle cheesecake slice and a passionfruit tart for myself. I devoured these sweets. They were so yummy. They have more of a takeout situation here, so I ordered my sweets to go and ate them at home. It's pretty tiny shop. I loved the cheesecake the most. The passionfruit tart was fun, although with passionfruit as the base flavor I wish there were more tropical topping and then maybe a plain custard one with the berries. It was still tasty. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area looking for some dessert.

It was brusque but mostly not overtly rude, perhaps they were just busy getting ready. I ordered the charcuterie board ($28), a chicken salad croissant sandwich ($14), and the Lavender Bees Knees ($8). The drink was very pretty but not super flavorful. The chicken salad was good enough, but I think the croissant alone would have been wonderful. The charcuterie board had a substitutions I was not made aware of upon ordering (no pepper jelly, blanched almonds instead of candied pecans, and a green onion mixed type goat cheese with bacon in it instead of maple bacon goat cheese). They did add little pickles and the presentation was pretty enough, but no flowers like the owner posted photo on here. The meat was pretty thick which could be a positive or negative depending on personal preference, and the meat was decent quality. The fig jam was very good. The waitress who was helping the other tables had brought my food out but didn't check on me at all. I had to go up to the counter again to order a cinnamon roll ($8) and a coffee ($5) which she brought out to me. The coffee was nice and dark (Cameo blend) and incredibly hot. The cinnamon roll was okay, not very much cinnamon flavor but it was delicate and the icing was decent. The interior was pretty and it was a good spot to read a book and spend a morning.

First outgrowing that space they recently upgraded again to find a place better fitted to their needs- and their popularity! I, personally, recommend going at around 630 in the morning (though I do work in a hospital, so my hours are... You know). Beat the rush. Because there IS a rush, and once everyone else is awake, the line invariably snakes put the door, even now. There is a reason they had to size up twice and there is a reason there are times it still isn't big enough. Their food, as it has always been, is amazing. I have not yet tried a pastry or a loaf of bread from Idle Hands that was not delicious. The crackle and shatter of the croissants, the shell on the canneles, the fluffiness of the foccacia, the crumb of the country blonde, the overwhelming richness of the chocolate custard in their Supremes... I could go on forever. My personal favourite is the pasteles de nata, small Portuguese egg cuatard tartlets. My mother likes the kouign-amann, my partner the brownies, my other the spanakopita-like pastry.
