I've had Gigi's before (in San Antonio) and I don't remember if I truly liked their cupcakes then, but I must have not thought that they were so bad not to return. But I guess now I can confirm that they aren't my favorite cupcake. Reason being is, gasp, there is just way too much frosting...trust me, I cant believe I'd ever say that. I got a strawberry shortcake cupcake and while the cake could have also had a softer texture (felt a little too dense), the frosting was overkill. Don't get me wrong, I always love a cupcake with more frosting than cake, but this one just seemed more off balance than I'd prefer. Yet, there were plenty of customers coming in that day to pick up pre-packaged orders, so it could just be a "me" thing, or maybe the folks of Bee Caves prefer their cupcakes on the sugar high side! In Austin, Cupprimo ranks supreme, followed by a good ol' Sprinkles cupcake. The frosting to cake ratio of Cupprimo's cupcake is comparable to Gigi's, but what makes Cupprimo's better in my opinion

***DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS BAKERY. *** I was trying to avoid…read morewriting this review, but the lack of professionalism and the way my complaint was handled left me with no other choice. I ordered cookies and cupcakes for my baby shower, which was taking place yesterday. I spent $220 on my order, expecting quality products and professional service for such an important occasion. I picked up my order on Friday, and after a 10-minute drive (with the boxes kept flat the entire time), one of the cupcake containers had shifted so badly that several cupcakes were completely ruined. I tried to fix them, but the frosting had melted and smeared everywhere, making them impossible to fix so I had to throw them away. Even more concerning, I found a fly inside one of the sealed containers. This is a serious food safety concern!!! I immediately emailed the bakery with photos and videos. Up until that point, they had been incredibly responsive to every email. However, the moment I reported the issue, all communication stopped. It has now been three days, and despite being active on Instagram and continuing to post on social media, they have completely ignored my emails. The complete lack of professionalism has been incredibly disappointing. If I owed a business and a costumer reported a potential food safety issue I would make resolving it my top priority! Instead, I was left pregnant, the weekend of the 4th of July, scrambling to find replacement desserts for my baby shower because I had no idea whether they intended to respond or make things right. The stress and frustration this caused completely overshadowed what should have been a joyful weekend. I will never order from here again, and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
