This place is okay. It's not close to the hype as displayed on this app. First, we entered the establishment and sat for a solid 5 minutes before someone greeted us, yet they were right next to us. The food was pretty good. I highly recommend the warm apple cider and the pancakes. However, I waited and waited for syrup and extra plate. By the time I got the items, my food was cold and I didn't bother with the eggs. Lastly, leaving was horrendous because again we waited for our waitress to take the bill and card. Finally my husband had to go up and put it into our waitress hand. And what did she do, put it under her arm and tend to all the other tables. Needless to say, the food was good, service was shotty. PS they charge you 3 dollars a piece of toast (a single, burnt slice) Do what you will with that information. read more

We came here for a hearty meal before hiking in the Rockies. My Polish breakfast was exactly what I needed. I also asked for biscuit to swap out the toasts. My friend got an omelette and hash brown though she found the hash brown was a bit too greasy for her liking. Our servers filled up our coffee and water attentively. This place is amazing! I was so hungry both times I didn't take a picture of my food. First time I had the trout salad- it was perfect! My Dad had the cob, loved it and brother had some caveman meal and said I was great too. Then went for brunch a few days later. Everyone loved their food- biscuits and gravy, croissant French toast, burger and eggs! The Bloody Mary and mimosas were also a great touch. For the mimosas, you got a mini bottle of the cupcake champagne, and then many cups of the juice or juices of your choice. Severe were attentive and polite! We came in here our 2nd morning in Estes Park. If nothing else the view of the Rockies from our table was worth the trip. Our server was super friendly and helpful. It did take a little while to get our orders in but once we did the process moved decently. Portions are a good size and everyone was happy with what we ordered. Not sure what the Yelp hype is surrounding Notchtop. Service was polite yet slow for a Wednesday at lunch. The Irish Benedict was quite savory, unique and delicious. The croissant French toast was quite boring - you'd never know it was a croissant. The iced coffee was awful, it tasted like brewed coffee left it cool. Prices are good for a tourist town. My husband's 1-2-3 with a pancake seemed a bit off, feeling gritty and dense; we wondered if there was a recipe change or just an off day. It was a bit over cooked and not enough gravy but it was crispy on the outside Dragon's Egg Rock Benedict has a kick to the sauce which is quite interesting on a Benedict. Really enjoyed that it was more of a pancake rather than English muffin since it was soft and absorbed the sauce on top well. Located right next to the Safeway grocery store, very convenient to have breakfast and hit the grocery before heading into Rocky Mountain national park. The menu is overwhelming, just the breakfast menu took 3 pages. They also offer deli sandwiches to go for picnic in The park for $7.99 so you don't have to get deli and make your own. Had the Texas sandwich which is very good with choice of meat and bread. Perfectly toasted and egg is runny. We walked down from the Stanley Hotel and were warmly greeted. Staff was nice and we were seated quickly. We had the trout and eggs, strip and eggs along with the dragons egg Benedict. The trout was dry and a little light on flavor. The eggs and steak were well done with nice flavor. My son enjoyed his Benedict and cleaned the plate. We stopped in on a Monday around 11am for breakfast and were lucky that there was no wait. What a great spot with a huge menu. They have a full bar. Many brunch and coffee cocktails. I enjoyed homemade banana bread french toast with fresh bananas and walnuts. They also added whipped cream which was not mentioned and I would gave preferred without, but oh well. I've been here a few times now and I must say it's the go to spot for breakfast in Estes Park! I freaking love their skillets. They're so big that you won't need to eat lunch! I got the Santa Fe skillet and you could choose between green and red chili. I also love that they offer iced coffee with free refills! We layered up and wanted endless coffee and delicious breakfast food in a homey environment. That's exactly what we got at Notchtop. Now there are two breakfast spots in the same plaza. My Yelpy senses led us here over the other, and as I alluded to, we were all satisfied. Shout out to the staff and servers, who were friendly and courteous. Plus, our server filled our coffees at least six times. Mr. Pink would be proud. Dragon's Egg Rock Benedict - with a massive breakfast and lunch menu, deciding what to order will be your most difficult task this year. I landed on this benedict, as it's one of their top sellers. The poached eggs were perfectly jiggly, and the two mini green chili pancakes were fluffy but sturdy enough to hold up to everything. Add Cholula and you'll enjoy this Colorado-style breakfast. Limitless coffee, tender home fries, and friendly faces. And in a COVID-world, they're doing a great job limiting and spacing out customers. Will come back for more! read more
