You guys... I am so bummed. I took my mom here the day before Mother's Day because I wanted to celebrate her. I heard this place was amazing and that it's a must try in Estes Park but please if you have high taste and are expecting big city level quality, do not get your hopes up! It's not good!! Maybe I'm being snotty for coming from a big city (DC and NYC) so I need to lower my expectations, but I've had great food in Colorado so I don't think that's it. But this was upsetting. And I do appreciate the manager for being so kind because it was really a miserable evening. Starting off we had a reservation at 6:30. So I expect to be sat at least by 6:35/6:40. We made this reservation three weeks in advance. But they clearly oversat people without reservations because we didn't get sat until 7:00. That was frustrating. We waited for drinks for about 20 minutes. They were delicious don't get me wrong. These were the highlight of the evening. The pear spritz and grapefruit margarita were fantastic. Loved. We ordered apps next. I don't know why they think goat cheese is a good addition to potato leek soup. I figured I'd try it because why not. Not good. And the focaccia? Two small slices for $4? I would hope that the waiter would've told us what we were getting because yikes. Why is there more butter than bread? We would've paid extra for two more slices but the transparency made us feel jipped. Now let's talk food. Took about 45 minutes. It's busy, I understand. But honestly I thought it might've been out earlier because our food came out lukewarm. Borderline cold. And talk about salt!!! It was like eating the sea. My mom and I both ordered the filet and were horrified to see it was cut. A filet. It dries it out! But yeah, there was no balance. It was salt on salt on salt. Gross. The waiter was very nice and so was the manager. They asked to take it back. But honestly it was just bad so we were ready to leave. They brought out two free glasses of wine which again was nice. But we again, just wanted to be done and go home. We didn't get dessert even though it was offered. Everything fell so short that honestly I didn't even want to try dessert. Again-- the food is bad. All extremely salty. If you like that, there you go. But the fact that it was basically cold? Yeah that's unacceptable. And as I said, grateful to the staff. But starting off not having been sat for 30 minutes after making a reservation weeks in advance? This was pitiful to say the least. Ember is a place of affordable fine dining with an amazing view!! They have both indoor and outdoor seating and indoors is well decorated w a modern but rustic feel. The three dishes we got were all fantastic! - mango shrimp: came with at least 16 shrimps and such a light and refreshing flavor with the mango - steak frites: easily two meals and steak was delicious - bison flautas: savory and so well balanced with their guacamole Service was excellent as well! Had an incredible dinner experience here. Had reservations but came in early and was seated right away. Originally I wanted to sit outside but since it was a little windy, I switched to indoors. Our server was super friendly and made sure we enjoyed every second of our meal. He checked in the right amount of times and kept our waters filled. We ordered the lobster bisque, bison short ribs, and the carrot cake for dessert. Wow.. every dish was delicious. The bisque had plenty of lobster chunks and was silky and savory. The bison was tender and soft and came apart like butter. And the carrot cake was super decadent and just sweet enough. Nicely paired with the ice cream. After a lovely day hiking in the Rocky Mountains , we changed our hiking boots for heels and dress shoes and came to this charming place! They are located inside of a hotel and we made reservations just to be safe! We were properly greet by the host and taken to our table. The decor here is clean, bright and modern! Every table is facing the lake, so everyone gets a "lake view!" Our server was prompt, helpful and attentive! We also saw the host go out and fix one of the American flag as it had gotten tangled up! We were very impressed with that attention to detail! We both got drinks and they were both enjoyable! I had the lakeside lemonade (I think that's what it was called) and it was refreshing! We then got the truffle fries and they were delicious! They truly hit the spot! Then we got the bison short rib and the lobster Mac and cheese. The bison was tender and tasted kind of like pot roast. The potato's were creamy and flavorful! The Mac and cheese was topped with a good amount of lobster! The sauce was cheesy but not too sharp! We visited Ember while staying at the Estes Park Resort. While we had a very satisfying meal I'm not sure that I'd come here if staying elsewhere. Keep in mind it's offseason so the place was quiet. Night so no views of the lake. If staying at the resort it's a no brainer to have a meal here. Dinner, table for 3. I had the bison short rib with garlic mashed potatos. A hearty dish, delicate short rib, I dare say I enjoyed the mash potatoes the most. Also ordered was the Bistro filet which was ok but not wow and the steak frites. The steak frites was tender with a generous portion of garlic Parmesan fries. This one iId recommend. Drinks were excellent. I tasted two old fashions with their house barrel of Elijah Craig whisky just to be sure, yes they were excellent. The modern mountain decor is pleasant, a bit dark at our table. Service was exceptional. Prices are on the higher side but not out of line for Estes. read more

We were here for a weekend and wanted to find a restaurant we can reserve in advance - and sure enough this is one of the few restaurants in town that takes reservations. The service was okay, could have been better. We arrived early and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes for our table. Not only that but our server could have also provider better service as we were waiting on water and our check for a long time. The ambiance was very nice, warm, and inviting which was perfect for a group of people I was with. The food was okay. I got the queso, salsa, and Guacamole dip as an appetizer. The Guac was good but the cheese and salsa had a consistency I wasn't a fan of. For the entree, I got streak frites and it was average - good but not great, might even say a little bland. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here! 2pm on a Tuesday so really quiet but everything was still fantastic, service was solid and food was great. Burger was fantastic, cheesy and nice smash/crust on the patties. Buns were toasted perfectly as well. Fries were terrific and crispy too. The steak frites was one of the best she's ever had she said and would drive back an hour just for them again. Again crispy fries with tons of garlic/cheese. Steak was tender too with the brown butter sauce to soak it in. Both the drinks were solid as well, no complaints with either. The strawberry lemonade one was so good and the old fashioned was classic. KILLER VIEWS!! Golf club crowd after happy hour and quite busy on Saturday evening. There was an event upstairs which made it very loud but we opted to sit outside on their gorgeous deck until a rain storm forced us inside. The staff were pleasant and our server Vlad was very kind to find us a seat with a good view. I love the chilled glass water bottles they bring and the smaller glasses to refill as they don't crowd the table. It felt very bougie and fancy but the food was truly amazing!! Everything looked and smelled great and it came out of the kitchen piping hot and beautifully plated. My sea bass was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Hubby had the fried chicken and loved it. I had to try his fried brussel sprouts as they were fantastic. The lobster bisque was very good with lots of chunks of lobster in it. Not the greatest. The view was, of course, terrific, and the service was quite good. But, the food was not up to par, particularly the Steak Frites. Two of us ordered that, and asked for rare. One came out medium and the other half the slices were rare but the other slices were also medium. The rare slices were very tough and difficult to cut. So I question the quality of the meat. My fries also were half good and the other half limp and soggy. I suspect that they came from two batches, one of which had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. Given the high prices, I'm not planning to go back. read more

Highly recommend dinner and drinks at Ember!!! The view is absolutely stunning! Food is fantastic and the presentation & atmosphere is wonderful! We went twice while visiting Estes Park. We had the cauliflower and bread/butter appetizers! Both were 10/10! Portions are huge so my hubby and I split the lobster Mac and cheese one evening and the chicken fried chicken tonight. Incredibly hot at first, with no sunshade, but thankfully the sun ducked behind a few clouds and provided some relief. We ordered only an app and two cocktails, so are speaking only to this. If you can imagine, two cocktails and cauliflower bites set us back $65. Whoa. What's worse? The Cauli bites were incredibly bland. Our waitress, Candice, although kind, didn't ask why over 75% of this dish was left when we declined a to go box. We asked for salt and pepper in a Hail Mary attempt to help them out, but no joy. Total fail. A few other small details got my attention - the plates she brought us were dirty and she forgot who ordered what. Mayne I'm grumpy today, but it was odd. She wasn't attentive and we watched every couple around us being attended to (by another waiter) while we sat in a in odd cone of silence. I'm not sure $65 is worthy of two drinks and an app? We had a good time as a family staying at the Resort here. We all ate more than our share. We started with the fruit and cheese platter. It was large and if you are looking for charcuterie... this is not it. It had one crustini, pre-sliced white cheese and the fruit was like an oversized kids meal... which was perfect for the kid. We also got a burger and then steaks. The steak sauce wasn't very good but the mashed potatoes were delicious. Smooth and even and plenty of butter. The squash was good but not evenly cooked or cut. We got a few drinks. The spiked cider and Moscow mule (in copper mug) were good. The manhattan and Penicillin? (sour) were better. Or that's second drink talking. Service was very good. Our server was conscious of allergies, attentive on drinks, and polite on pricing. It was busy. We had to wait 15 minutes and when we got there around 7:30 the other tables had obviously been there... more than a little while. A little stumbling and dropping keys... there wasn't even a wedding that night. I think they are adding room service and I think that would be a good addition in more than one way. read more

We went for Easter brunch. Lovely dining area with a beautiful view of Lake Estes. The menu had a nice variety of dishes. I had a chicken burrito bowl. The ingredients were so fresh. Oh man, this was a good find! Even though we had just come off the mountain from a short hike, we were able to toss our top layer back on and fit right in. The semi-relaxed atmosphere made the quality of the food a bit of a surprise in the best way possible. This was fine dining next to a beautiful lake where everyone is welcomed! The cooking was clean, healthy, flavorful and perfect! The seafood was fresh and well cooked. The gnocchi was beautiful and the perfect texture. The sauce - amazing! I don't even typically eat duck breast, but I'm so glad I was enticed by the gnocchi. I ate way more than I ever do because I couldn't stop. Service was fine dining level as well. I haven't been to this place since it became Ember so we thought we would give it a go. It wasn't too crowded and we were quickly seated. The waitstaff came over and took our order. I had a beer while my wife had a Pricky Pear Margarita. She was not a fan for it was far too sweet. She often does normal margaritas and she said this was to much link candy. Our food came out quickly and looked good. Ordered the Squash Tacos and Steak Frites. We enjoyed them both and would get them again. We were checked on often enough that our water never was empty and empty plates disappeared quickly. We shared a dessert afterwards, chocolate cake, and it was good as well. We were greeted on valentines evening 2025 by a wonderful host who had us sit in comfy chairs by the fire and brought us glasses of water while we waited for our reserved table. We were sat upstairs which ended up being not as great as we expected. Since it was dark, we couldn't enjoy the view of the water and since the heater was running, it got a little warm up there. They had opened up this space (usually reserved for private parties) to host more people on this night. It was awkwardly laid out and had 2-3 people running it. Beautiful location and restaurant. Service is a bit on the slow side. Not inattentive, just slowly paced. Not a problem if you are not rushing off for something. Props to Ember for being one of the only restaurants in Estes available on DoorDash! After arriving from a late flight and drive from the city, I needed an easy meal. I found Ember via DoorDash and noticed their positive reviews here on Yelp, so I gave it a try. I wasn't disappointed! I have been here twice so far and both times really enjoyed the place. So far I have just had the cheese burger because it is so good. Fries are also good. They have this sauce they serve with the fries that is amazing. I suggest asking for extra. Cocktails are really good as well and I would 100% just stop by for a drink and an appetizer. The last trip was my son and I. We sat at the bar with no reservation. Given he is younger and can eat a ton he got the desert (apple fritter cake). I had a taste and it was amazing. Definitely worth making a reservation if you want a nice dinner while in Estes or go late afternoon and sit at the bar. A few pictures but sadly none of the burgers because we ate them so fast ! I didn't make any reservations, however we were able to get a table for 2 easily. The ambience was spectacular, especially when we got to sort near the window that overlooks the lake. We went for dinner though, so it was pretty dark by then, but we could see that they had the fire pits lit up outside. Th service was mediocre. The waiter was pleasant, but he was just there to take our orders and give us a check. He was barely attentive; he didn't ask us how our meal was, and didn't even refill our waters. I hate when they don't notice the details like refilling on drinks. The guy at the front desk of the hotel was very amiable though. Started with a berry bramble cocktail, which was yummy. I'm a lightweight, so it was good enough for me. We started off with the lobster bisque. It was very warm and flavorful. There was a good amount of lobster in there and extremely creamy. The scallop dish was ok. The scallops were a bit too charred for me. The bison and potato dish was my favorite! The bison was very tender and just melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes were creamy and so flavorful. I wanted dessert elsewhere, so I didn't have any here. I would come back for the bison dish for sure. read more

Top notch restaurant for a celiac! The took special care to make sure there was no cross contamination and the waiter confirmed a separate gluten free fryer! I'm going to be dreaming of the Bangin' Cauliflower for weeks! The polenta fritters were also lovely. The venison tenderloin was perfect and not gamey at all!
