My little sister likes Jellycats and I wanted to surprise her so I looked online for stores nearby…read morethat sell them in-person I ended up driving about 45 minutes to buy them in person here. Come to find out after she opened them that she had others she'd rather get and no one else in our house really cares for them so I went to return them but I double-checked their website to make sure they accept returns since it was a local store and I didn't want to waste a trip. The website says they do so I drove another 45 minutes to take them back. Get in the store...and they definitely accept returns... for store credit or exchange "only". So no cash returns. The cashier motioned to some out of the way picture on the side wall that states you can only return for store credit. Some advice to offer: It would be a better idea to put it where customers can actually see it like most stores with alternate return policies do (like on the checkout counter or mentioning it during checkout/making the policy clear that there are no cash returns) so they can make the decision for themselves if they'd still like to shop. Had I known I at least would have double-checked with my sister beforehand or wouldn't have shopped there at all. I don't have any family that young and I don't collect Jellycats so I have no use for the stuffed animals or the store credit. I just wasted $70 and gas...on a situation that could have been avoided with better transparancy. If I wanted to donate $70 I'd have given it to a cause that actually needed it this season. Do better.

Not a lot of clothes for older kids as advertised on the window but we were not disappointed at all. Very pleasant and welcoming staff and I felt the prices were appropriate for the unique finds.

Hexbug Robotics Innovation First Labs - Four VEX ROBOTICS kits

Hexbug Robotics Innovation First Labs

When searching for STEM activities one of the major companies is HEXBUG ROBOTICS Innovation First…read moreLabs. This company has a vast assortment of kits with guidance clearly listed for the ages the project is appropriate for. Last summer I purchased three kits for my grandson's summer activity. This summer I purchased another to add to the collection of STEM activities that I had for him during his annual visit to Grandma and Grandpa's. Each kit is a good quality, snap together kit, with clear assembly instructions. An added bonus is the information on the scientific principles learned from the particular kit. I am writing this as a five star review however my true rating is a 4.5 because the assembly instructions on several occasions has missed listing one step. The following are the kits I have based this review on. VEX ROBOTICS Aerial Drone Explorer - Age 6+, contains 85 pieces One of the easiest kits to assemble. Touts that the activity will uncover the mysteries of space. Personally without the VEX IQ the kit is more of a model and does very little. VEX ROBOTICS Gear Racer Pull Back Car- Age 8-13, contains 105 pieces Fun kit to put together but had one error in the assembly instructions which required our young genius to back track steps and use his own judgement on the correct positioning for one piece. The car is powered by a resistance lever, heavy duty rubber bands, gears and rubber wheels. The rubber bands transfer energy through the gears to power the car. Once completed it is a fun vehicle capable of zooming 30-40 feet on hardwood floors or 20 feet on carpeted floors. VEX ROBOTICS Catapult Launcher- Age 14+, 150+ pieces The kit provides two different options for how to build it. The kit depends on engineering abilities while making a fully operable catapult. It teaches physics hands on and explains how it works with the turn of a dial and the launching of a lever. The kit says it launches the ball 20 feet but I would recommend allowing for a distance of 35+ feet. NOTE despite the kit being listed for age 14+ my grandson was quite capable last summer at age 8. He fully understood the principles of the catapult at 8 yet enjoyed getting it back out this summer to make sure it still worked. VEX ROBOTICS Zip Flyer Launcher- Age 8-14, 80+ pieces Once again this kit provides instructions for two different building options. The principles taught from the completion of the item is the science of lift, drag, and momentum. The kit says the propellers will fly 50+ feet. I can tell you that is no exaggeration. Even a gentle pull had the propellers lifting off inside and hitting our extra tall ceilings but not causing any damage due to the plastic material they are made from. This was a wonderful kit for the 10 year old to put together but everyone no matter how old enjoyed playing with it! Thanks VEX ROBOTICS for providing such a fun way to explore science!

Three different employees helped us find things and also pointed out a misconception we were having about one of the products we were trying to buy, which was GREATLY appreciated. They have some fantastic options for stocking stuffers or small gifts if you're a big fan of micro-giving like I am (like at the office or just a little basket of thanks or congrats gifts)- anyway I enjoyed my experience at this well organized and well stocked store. Even if it had fewer options, I still got what I needed.

As luck would have it, I decided to finish out some built-in kitchen cabinets with Elfa sliding baskets, sadly without the Elfa sale happening. Since this built-in sideboard has a 17" depth, I am limited in my choices. I was greeted when I entered and I wanted to just walk around and see what was new since my last visit at another store. Another team member followed up and she was very helpful in selecting the rolling baskets we needed to match what we installed over 10 years ago. I don't know why we didn't do them all at the same time, but it was probably cost prohibitive at the time during our kitchen remodel. We made our way up front to the checkout counter to wait in line, but our sales lady was able to scan and tabulate and finalize our purchase right in our cart! Pretty cool! We didn't need any bags so we were on our way in no time! My receipt was emailed to me and we went home and installed the rolling baskets within the hour! A great feeling of organization and accomplishment!

However, I needed some things recently, so I decided to try Target instead. I go there occasionally for toys and other items, but I never buy clothes because the clothing, which should be neatly folded, is always mixed up, as if someone intentionally went through the store and caused chaos. This was the case for a while, but after going twice in the last month, Target has improved its cleanliness and organization. They had a delightful man with his cart piled high with clothes he found disorganized, folding and putting them back on the shelves. He was very pleasant and, when you walked by, he would ask if you needed any help. I'm glad Target hired him. I guess I'll be coming into the store more often and not shun it as I did in the past. I would have gave 5 stars but there was a loooong lines but to Targets credit they had an employee telling people where to go so we didn't look like a bunch of cattle waiting for their turn in the 'Squeeze Chute'

They have a fairly decent selection of items considering they are a small store but the items are as good a value as another location. The store was clean, organized, and well stocked for the holidays. Easy in-and-out experience and no issues finding what we needed. Even with the Starbucks inside being closed, Target itself delivered a solid experience.
