Such a wonderful and nostalgic toy store! I visited Toys Unique recently in search of an Easter gift and I had a great experience. I had never shopped at this store before but I knew I had a couple of items in mind- Jelly Cats and Calico Critters. Thankfully, they had both! I believe I spoke to one of the owners and she was able to guide me to the sections that had these toys. I also spent some time looking around the store, it was such a nostalgic place and reminded me of a true toy store from my childhood. The quality of the toys was much higher and the prices matched, but that is expected when you're making an investment in better quality. I also appreciated their wide selection of different types of toys that would be perfect for gifts, Easter baskets, stocking stuffers, party favors, and more. Their Calico Critter selection was also the biggest I've seen in the area! Overall, I had a great experience and my gift from here is very well loved now. I definitely plan to return! What a great selection of toys! They have a full array of toys from infant to teen. Great selection of stuffed animals. There are plenty of staff who wander the floor offering to help. Prices were reasonable and there was a nice range from inexpensive to moderately priced toys. They have gift wrap, if you need it. I highly recommend checking out this place! read more

I used to love coming here! It had the best JellyCat selection (so many you couldn't find anywhere else), and the rest of the store had a ton of variety as well. I don't know if ownership changed recently or what, but the store isn't nearly as good. There is far less in stock, the JellyCat selection is severely depleted with very little variety, and the vibes are just more sterile overall. It wasn't perfect before--it was very "junky," there were shoplifting warning signs all over, and the employees always watched you like a hawk even if you weren't doing anything wrong--but I at least was able to find cool toys and Jellys every time I went in. While my previous experiences would have landed me at four stars for this store, I'm now probably closer to two and a half or three. read more

They truly have the cutest toys and an excellent variety but my goodness they severely lack in customer service or any knowledge in business. They stalk you like you you're an ex convict which makes for a miserably awkward experience. They also have prices tagged lower but charged me more and basically said it is what it is. I've given this place a few chances bc of the variety but the experience is terrible every single time. read more

This toy store took me back to days gone by, which was a fun thing. So many toy stores are boring, but not this one!!! From the moment you walk in you are overwhelmed with the amount of selection that they have. I could have spent hours in this place and NEVER gotten bored. They have the new and modern toys, ones I had never heard of and solid not know what existed and then they had the old standbys that I thought were new when I was a kid, but were probably standbys then as well...lol. I love Toys Unique. I've been shopping there for several months and it's been  a wonderful discovery and experience. The selection of items range from whimsical plushes, great outdoor activities for kids and adults and a large selection of educational material, in books, science, building concepts and an area dedicated for young learners. I was a frequent visitor with my granddaughter who loves the toys but will never be back. After spending over $500 on toys for my grandchildren they put them in a trash bag!!!! I will never give my money to a store that is so insulting to "certain" customers. read more

We have been customers for years and even though we moved I make it a point to come here for gifts. They do live up to their name.

I went in because this store carries wooden trains, tracks, and accessories: namely Brio, and another German brand. All of these sets are compatible, by the way. The saleslady, Pam, pointed out another German made train set that is cheaper than Brio and Thomas, and as a spendthrift, I really appreciated that tip. There wasn't a huge selection of these wooden train sets, but I needed a starter set, and they had several in stock. They also have a good collection of outdoor toys, and some really cool swings. Some of their products are on the pricey side, but if you look around, they do have some cheaper options on some items. Santa is hookin' it up this Christmas: Yo Ho Ho. read more

If I could leave no stars I really would. Came in with my wife and a couple of her friends. They're into collecting the popular plush toys squishmallows. This toy store happens to have a couple of hard to find ones in stock. We thought it was a hidden gem but little did we come to find out how ugly the workers could be. We weren't buying in excess, probably 2 each for a total of 4 people. Not including myself. My wife collected the 2 she wanted and went to pay, the lady at the counter was scanning her out and while doing so another lady came by and rudely took them away and said you can only buy 1, with no signs saying they were limited. When confronting the lady she said we will let y'all all by 1 today but for future reference these are all reserved for our normal regular customer that come in. I immediately said how do I become a regular customer if you're leaving me with a bad impression on how the store is run and taking away items that we want to buy with money in hand. With no prior knowledge of only 1 per and only coming up with that rule as we came in and looked for the toys. A gentleman came in from the back and said that they were hard to get and we have to reserve them for other clients who might want them. It was a back and forth because it didn't make sense that I was ready to purchase that day. As we waited for everyone in our small group to pay, the lady came out with a trash bag and collected all of them. I hate to say it but we definitely got some racial vibes from the people who work here. We were all Hispanic while the workers were all white. Just seem to coincidental the way these "RULES" came to be as soon as we walked in. We were not rude even after they treated us the way they did. The ladies in the store were all elderly ladies and we respected them even if they came off to us short fused and a bit racist. You don't expect this from a toy store but it's truly the sad truth. I've heard a lot about this store after our visit and come to find out that they are scamming people with their prices and charging upward of 80+ for a squishmallow that is worth $30 retail. This place is terrible and I feel sorry for those who work here. Terrible place, even made a call afterwards to "see" if there toys were only reserved for regular customers. I said on the phone does it matter because I'm a paying customer and I got hung up on. So yeah they're bad. Don't go here... read more

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Aside from the interesting merchandise (like bath bombs that say "F-Bomb"), the staff is slow and generally unpleasant to deal with. I tried to make a return, and the first time I came in I was told I needed to come back when the manager would be in so she could take care of it. The second try I just called the place, and the manager rudely told me she can't do the return. Don't let the "family-owned" description fool you - this place is far from charming and friendly. read more

This is by far the best toy store in Dallas that I have found for the nice things I like to buy for my grandchildren. The quality and selection is outstanding. The owners travel the world to select just the nicest and safest and most educational toys and games for children. You will find things in this store that you will not find other places. The service is excellent. Children love to come in here also. And the free gift wrapping is a big plus. Sometimes I like to select some items and have them made into a big gift basket.
