The year was 1994 and Plano was still in its initial stages of exponential growth. Everyone was so excited that B&N was opening one of their huge and well stocked book stores. I spent many hours in this store over the years. Not so many lately as it has declined in a significant way. On a positive note they have recently opened a smaller store in the area. But,it looks like the Giant bookstore is a thing of the past. Rest in Peace

The store is small and cute, limited to the stones carried, but is still a very intimate and great store with the unique pieces and selections it does have. I did find it a bit more on the pricier side for some pieces but the price could be based on actual location cost of living or where the stones were collected from.

This was the same Bible she has read from for 20 years, so needless to say it was special. Her old cover had completely fallen off and a lot of the pages were starting to wear. We took it in to pick colors and everything and they were super helpful in picking types of covers, colors, and other options. The price we were quoted was very reasonable, imo. The Bible looks like a completely new book! We are so pleased with the quality and craftsmanship! I would highly recommend The Book Doctor!

I called to see about getting my grandson's Bible repaired. It looked like he had played a few…read moregames of basketball with it. The back was off, but the inside Bible itself was intact. The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

The womens book section is also excellent, lots of fiction, self-care, and inspirational reads at reasonable prices. The Starbucks inside B&N is a huge plus. Grabbing a coffee while browsing magazines or purchasing a new book makes the experience relaxing and enjoyable. The store is clean, well organized, and has a comfortable atmosphere that encourages you to stay awhile. Definitely a go-to spot for book lovers and anyone who enjoys a good magazine and coffee break! They do have restrooms here. However, people are real pigs, so the restrooms aren't very clean. Ugh. The real Starbucks could take and learn a lot from them, never a botched drink, their selection of pastries and food is far superior to the regular Starbucks, no music to get in the way I will go out of my way to have a coffee and relax there than any Starbucks. Bookstore and combination with the coffee shop is just outstanding. Can't go wrong with this place where you want a cup of coffee or a book, or a puzzle yeah the prices are a little high but then again where aren't they today. would have rated them five stores, but it's a big store and there is or was checkout space at both ends of the store but the last couple years they've really only ever staffed the one side so you have to walk all the way to one end of the store to pay and then walk all the way back out the other end if you parked in the main parking lot.

They have the cutest children's section in the back, that makes you want to curl up with a good book. I loved their gift section with fun sayings on book bags and beautiful book designed planters. Service was great and they were very helpful. Since, it is an independent book store prices were a little higher, but you are paying to help support the bookstore with its unique gifts and great selection of books.

The bookstore is cozy and beautifully decorated. I talked to the staff for a while about books and authors then I checked out and left.
