And now,the time has come when they must face, the final curtain ( in your best Sinatra voice)!…read more That's right, another one bites the dust. I remember when this shop was brand new. The year was 1994 and Plano was still in its initial stages of exponential growth. Everyone was so excited that B&N was opening one of their huge and well stocked book stores. I spent many hours in this store over the years. Not so many lately as it has declined in a significant way. On a positive note they have recently opened a smaller store in the area. But,it looks like the Giant bookstore is a thing of the past. Rest in Peace

They opened early for us, a really nice and welcoming gesture. As soon as I walked in, I immediately fell in love! You're greeted promptly and given a woven basket to put your items in as you shop. The owners, Larry and Deb, have a great balance in allowing you time to shop and also being there if you have any questions or need guidance. There's little printouts with the crystals meanings also, which extremely helpful when you're a newbie like myself. They have a great assortment of other items as well such as Himalayan salt lamps, incense, herbs, etc. The selection is great and the prices are the most reasonable I've seen yet. Thank you Larry and Deb, I can't wait to go back!

The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

Love this Barnes and Nobles in Garland!!…read more They have a pretty darn good selection of magazines, especially crafting, cooking, lifestyle, and women focused titles. The womens book section is also excellent, lots of fiction, self-care, and inspirational reads at reasonable prices. The Starbucks inside B&N is a huge plus. The store is clean, well organized, and has a comfortable atmosphere that encourages you to stay awhile. Definitely a go-to spot for book lovers and anyone who enjoys a good magazine and coffee break! They do have restrooms here. However, people are real pigs, so the restrooms aren't very clean. Ugh. She has an amazing selection of books, but also bookish items (postcards, stickers, bookmarks, cards). We always have such a great time at this venue.
