this place is wonderful! cute little mom and pop shop and the owners are incredibly kind. the sweet owner at the register let me play with the oracle deck I was eyeing and even took the time to give me tips since it was my first time. i was able to purchase all the crystals I needed and i love that they have little descriptors you can take home with you. I felt super comfortable here and they even gave me some cute little goodies for my first visit. i'll definitely be coming back soon!

Came here for my crystals and I absolutely love the peace that I encountered upon driving up. Deb & Larry were so patient with me and stayed way pass the hours of operations. I love that they gave me a clearing for my highest good and was not afraid to mention God. I will be back to experience more that this shop has to offer.

I had a lot of questions and they were all answered, and I was given lot of good advice, and a few warm hugs from Deb.

Lucky Dogs Books is a book store that clearly serves its community. The store occupies one of the…read morehistoric former downtown Oak Cliff buildings on Jefferson. And the store is huge! There's a large corner with chairs up by the big glass windows that is very cozy. There are fans. Yeah. I love fans. I don't know if they have a book club but there is room for that! I didn't get a chance to really explore the store as I was on the hunt for children's books. I have to say that there was a very kind manager there to help, but children's books seemed to be everywhere in this midstore nook area that had children's books on shelves and in boxes on the floor. I didn't have the ability to get down low and check them all out. 75% of the books I looked at had some kind of minor boo boo. But I was realistic. If this was my child, I wouldn't care about that. They were clean. There were so many varieties. However, I was buying a gift and didn't know how the mother would feel. Really, most were in excellent shape considering we are talking kids here and I WAS looking for a two year old. In the end I found three highly regarded used books for $18 total. One had a spot of coffee or hot chocolate? Yum. lol Anyway, I found out they buy back books here. I can't really say that I absolutely understand the process, but I do know that STORE CREDIT is a big part of the plan. What a deal to keep recirculating books for reading. For those looking to make money on their books, they do offer cash for more current titles based on original sales price. They take into consideration condition and inflation. Just ask. Lucky Dog Books is a very intimate browsing experience. It's comfortable. They have DVDs, VHS tapes, Music - CD's, sets. And books. Check it out.

Love this Barnes and Nobles in Garland!!…read more They have a pretty darn good selection of magazines, especially crafting, cooking, lifestyle, and women focused titles. The womens book section is also excellent, lots of fiction, self-care, and inspirational reads at reasonable prices. The Starbucks inside B&N is a huge plus. Grabbing a coffee while browsing magazines or purchasing a new book makes the experience relaxing and enjoyable. The store is clean, well organized, and has a comfortable atmosphere that encourages you to stay awhile. Definitely a go-to spot for book lovers and anyone who enjoys a good magazine and coffee break! They do have restrooms here. However, people are real pigs, so the restrooms aren't very clean. Ugh. The real Starbucks could take and learn a lot from them, never a botched drink, their selection of pastries and food is far superior to the regular Starbucks, no music to get in the way I will go out of my way to have a coffee and relax there than any Starbucks. Bookstore and combination with the coffee shop is just outstanding. Can't go wrong with this place where you want a cup of coffee or a book, or a puzzle yeah the prices are a little high but then again where aren't they today. would have rated them five stores, but it's a big store and there is or was checkout space at both ends of the store but the last couple years they've really only ever staffed the one side so you have to walk all the way to one end of the store to pay and then walk all the way back out the other end if you parked in the main parking lot.

I was very impressed with the children's Halloween book selections here. And their displays were true visions that would make any child happy. I also like all the extras offered - like little ghost coin purses that look like the ones from the early 20s. You know what I'm talking about, little beaded coin purses with a little fringe Om the bottom. But with ghosts in them. lol! The people working there were happy, and that says a lot about a store to me. I asked a few questions and they were very knowledgeable and quickly answered my questions with confidence. It was a great experience and there were many people buying books early in the morning. It's a great way to start your day.

Sale discounts were posted everywhere. A chance to get the best bang for your dollar. You could spend hours upon hours going through the store and did I mention taking the escalator to the second floor? Found a cute area set up for the children's section. My granddaughter found several books to start off her summer reading. A nice gentleman checked us out. We were on our way and happened to notice the cafe. Just couldn't miss picking up a little treat :-)

First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.
