Needlepoint This is my home LNS in Dallas! They've been around the longest, so the team is quite knowledgeable and has always been eager to help me as a younger stitcher. Their canvas and fiber selection is vast. I've been super happy with all finishing I've received from them, although ornaments do seem to take about a year. I think that's to be expected, though. The lioness does not concern herself with starting or finishing her first project before purchasing more canvas. I stopped in Needlepoint This, because I'm going all in and I'll now be that woman who visits every LNS. All of the ladies in here were lovely, welcoming and helpful. I quickly let them know I'm brand new and looking to start needlepoint quite soon. I picked up a Waffle House canvas (my first 18 count as my blueberry pancakes is a 13) and some thread. Jane was especially kind to not have me spend too much seeing as though this will be one of my first projects and helped select essentials thread for my stitching. There's that itty bitty part of me that always wants the good stuff but I'm sure this will be just fine seeing as though I'm not even certain how this whole new found desire to make this a hobby of mine will turn out. I stitched my first stitch with Jane and she was very encouraging and supportive. Their classes are sold out for the remainder of the year which feels common in the area. I'm really hoping to find a great one somewhere because I love hands on learning and feel most comfy around a professional to get started and answer questions that will undoubtedly arise. We'll see, as each day passes I'm growing more confident in just starting on my own with videos. I now have just about everything I think I'll need to begin. Jane gave me a project bag and some travel scissors in addition to a couple other needles. I liked her suggestion to not use stretcher bars, although I have some I may experiment with different ways to see which I prefer. Parking is a little wonky in the area due to construction on Lovers Lane, I'd suggest trying to park across the road if you can't snag a spot on their side. read more

While visiting Dallas, I decided instead of a magnet that I'd get a canvas to represent the city. I really loved the variety of canvases to choose from. It was a tad overwhelming. When I decided to get a couple threads, the ladies working even helped make sure I got the proper weight. Needlepoint is not a cheap hobby by any means. However it's nice to able to accomplish the finished product. read more

An incredible thread selection with vast majority of thread colors in stock!!! Tons of cute canvases out for someone who enjoys modern needlepoint or classic canvases. The store was extremely busy Saturday but all of the women working were very helpful. I never felt rushed. I explained I was still relatively a beginner and asked for help selecting threads that would make my vision come to life and they gave multiple options. They took time to educate me on how to use new threads so I could take care of my investment. Will definitely be coming back read more

The staff here were rushing me to choose my items the entire time and were extremely unhelpful. They got angry at me when I asked questions about the products and when I got to check out I ended up not buying anything and going to Micheal's where I got it seventy percent cheaper, save your time don't come here. read more

First time I went I felt rushed by the staff member to get my supplies and get out. Second time was completely different. I was offered all sorts of help and notified about a complimentary craft kit that consisted of a large bag and mini foldable scissors. I do plan on returning to hopefully come across more friendly faces. read more

How wonderful is this shop? The lady who waited on me and the two quirky teenagers I'd dragged along could not have been kinder or more helpful. She went out of her way to find the kind of canvas I was looking for, even suggesting other designers whose work she didn't have in (but could order). I was treated with such kindness and thoughtfulness ...a far cry (sadly) from the rather snooty reception I get in my home town near Boston. I just encountered an interaction with a customer that was so bad, I felt the need to write a review. This woman had traveled from out of town to get help with her stocking. every question was answered with "we can't help you" or "that sounds like a personal problem". the woman was clearly embarrassed and the staff was ZERO help. I'd give ZERO stars, but I'm forced to give one. Too bad their customer service is soooo horrible! The shop is ran by the three most ugly behaving ladies ever! I was there with my mother and aunt to purchase an Elizabeth Bradley canvas kit. The EB designs use a different stitch and thicker yarn/thread than I'm use to. When I asked any one of them to help me get it started and explain the EB recommendation to start at the bottom, they were so put out and and yelled at me for wanting to try it. The lady with chunky dark glasses ripped open my box, lost my needles and then said the EB stitch was "stupid and not necessary." The lady with grey, extremely short hair yelled at me for starting at the bottom, "Why would you ever do that?!?!" (Ummm... because EB recommends it) While I was standing there, the chunky glasses lady was obnoxious and snarled to a customer on the phone, "All you'll do is mess it up! Stop right now and let our finishers do it!" Clearly their unprofessional, ungrateful and foul attitude is not limited to walk-in customers. Fed up, I said their behavior towards me, right in front of my aunt and elderly mother, had been horrendous since I walked in the door and if they were going to sell the Elizabeth Bradley kits then they should be willing to explain it. Fast forward a few weeks...While speaking with a customer rep at Elizabeth Bradley in Raleigh, NC, I told her about a shop in the Dallas area and how rude they were about the EB method. She asked, "Did you go to Needlepoint This?" She went on to say that I was not the first person to mention how atrocious the shop is towards the EB style and she recommended not to go back! Trust me... like the review below, I'd give up needlepointing before walking into that shop again. There are plenty of shops in the area that sell Elizabeth Bradley kits plus beautiful canvases with people not at all gruesome like these three ladies. The worst. read more

I was only able to look through the window from the outside but I could tell from what I saw that they have a lovely little store with lots of products. It is unfortunate I didn't get here on a day they were open. I figure I saw enough Looking Through the Windows as much as if I had gone in and walked around. The only problem was I couldn't buy anything if I had seen something I wanted. I'm hoping to pass by through Dallas again on my way back to Austin and if I do I will try to stop by here at a time when I can go in. This store had an ok selection, nothing that cannot be found elsewhere, for the same or better prices. I have shopped in needlepoint stores in Dallas, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Chicago, to name a few-and I have NEVER been met with the rudeness I was at this store. Simply unfathomable. Needlepoint This is an incredible store and community. The store-persons are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the wide array of canvas prints and projects they have on display, as well as how to help customers find supplies needed to complete projects. During "normal" times (whatever that means now) the store hosts lessons and classes and gathers a positive community around needlework. Although currently difficult to assess from North Carolina, I previously purchased several needlework canvases from them as well as the threads to complete the projects. Having come close to the end of a particular canvas, I ran out of the particular thread I needed. I reached out to Needlepoint This and although they did not have remaining thread from that specific company and lot number, they called around the nation and found a place that could help me. Incredible customer service - the folks at the store where I purchased the thread in Arkansas had amazing things to say about the kindness of the folks at Needlepoint This. The absolute most rude service I have ever encountered in a retail establishment. I was trying to buy some thread for a product I had bought there for over $100. First saleslady turned to a colleague and said, 'I'm going to let you handle this one, I can't deal with her'. Second saleslady called me 'Toots'. Very sarcastic. I would stop doing needlepoint before I would walk back in this store. Such a bummer on a beautiful sunny day when everyone is so happy to be able to shop again. All the other merchants on the Miracle Mile were delighted to help and have business. No excuse for an experience like this. read more

I don't go to the Dallas side often, but was at a conference so stopped by. It was 3:30 on a Sat so just 30 minutes till closing. They helped with what I was looking for. Took my name for a thread they needed to reorder. I thought the selection was amazing and in my experience quality canvasses are not cheap. Lovely shop and very sweet people. I love this store. I rely on this store to purchase specialized fibers, like "Very Velvet" needlepoint thread, and they have a great selection despite a relatively small store size. I've also taken their "Beginning Needlepoint" class, which I found fun and useful in learning new stitches. They have TONS of canvases for sale, but I like to draw my own and they help me find the right materials. There are several interesting ladies who are always needlepointing at the table, and they usually leave me to browse on my own but are readily available if I ask for help or advice. I treasure locally-owned stores like this, for they are rare, and without this store I would have to mail order fibers without the benefit or pleasure of feeling and seeing them in person first. read more

I have been returning to Needlepoint This for 3 years, mostly because it is near my house. However, I will never go back. The staff is rude and unhelpful--they sit in the middle of the shop stitching and eating, and act offended if a customer walks in. Their prices are exorbitant--especially for finish work and blocking. There don't seem to be many good alternatives and the women in this shop seem to know it. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. I dropped a stocking off for a back to be put On it, cost is 175 and promised by Christmas. it's dec 8th and have not received an update. When I called to get a status update the owner REFUSED to provide one. She said there were over 150 stockings and they would get to it when they could get to it. When I asked if she couldn't provide and estimated time Of completion or if there was someone else that was willing to provide the information, she said no. With needle pointing becoming a dying breed - you would think they would try to provide customer service. The request for completion date was reasonable as the its already December 8th And my youngest has not had her stocking on the fireplace with the others all month. I suggest using a different needlepoint store if you want your items that were stitched with love to be in good hands. The fact that they could not locate the stocking is UNACCEPTABLE. The customer service was HORRIBLE. Very disappointed. read more

I am new to needle point and stopped by to check out the store. I did not find the staff to be overly friendly. I am a bit shy and it appeared the shop was filled with "regular patrons" and the staff seemed to be more focused on them then me. I had to ask the prices on their yarn and they made me feel as if I was a bother. I asked about classes and received an off handed comment , "we'll be posting them in January - go to our website and check it in January". Really, they don;t have a customer email list they could put me on? I have to go seek out their poor customer service again?? No thank you. As a new customer and new to needlepoint, I was hoping they would have made me feel more comfortable asking questions. Rather, I felt that they did not have time for questions or for a new customer. They did have a fantastic selection of yarn and canvases but due to the fact that I felt unwelcomed in their store I will spend my money else were, even if I have to drive across town to do it. Too bad as they are very close to me and have such a good selection. This hobby is not inexpensive and they just lost quite a bit of valuable revenue for their store. Hopefully they will ready this and step it up in the customer service department. read more
