I'd give ZERO stars, but I'm forced to give one. Too bad their customer service is soooo horrible! The shop is ran by the three most ugly behaving ladies ever! I was there with my mother and aunt to purchase an Elizabeth Bradley canvas kit. The EB designs use a different stitch and thicker yarn/thread than I'm use to. When I asked any one of them to help me get it started and explain the EB recommendation to start at the bottom, they were so put out and and yelled at me for wanting to try it. The lady with chunky dark glasses ripped open my box, lost my needles and then said the EB stitch was "stupid and not necessary." The lady with grey, extremely short hair yelled at me for starting at the bottom, "Why would you ever do that?!?!" (Ummm... because EB recommends it) While I was standing there, the chunky glasses lady was obnoxious and snarled to a customer on the phone, "All you'll do is mess it up! Stop right now and let our finishers do it!" Clearly their unprofessional, ungrateful and foul attitude is not limited to walk-in customers. Fed up, I said their behavior towards me, right in front of my aunt and elderly mother, had been horrendous since I walked in the door and if they were going to sell the Elizabeth Bradley kits then they should be willing to explain it. Fast forward a few weeks...While speaking with a customer rep at Elizabeth Bradley in Raleigh, NC, I told her about a shop in the Dallas area and how rude they were about the EB method. She asked, "Did you go to Needlepoint This?" She went on to say that I was not the first person to mention how atrocious the shop is towards the EB style and she recommended not to go back! Trust me... like the review below, I'd give up needlepointing before walking into that shop again. There are plenty of shops in the area that sell Elizabeth Bradley kits plus beautiful canvases with people not at all gruesome like these three ladies. The worst.

My 9 year old grandson wasn't too excited to go but once he stepped inside and saw a shark tooth, he was all over it! Even hubby was so impressed and glad he tagged along. My granddaughters found so many pretty things but I limited everyone to two items each. The girls each wanted a shell ring and a turtle jewelry pendant. HUGE selection of jewelry making supplies, including stone, jewels, metal findings, etc. and so many beautifully polished rocks and stone pieces and crystals. The prices seemed very reasonable. After we took the grandkids to the Perot museum last summer and they loved the huge rock displays, my oldest granddaughter wanted a rock tumbler for her birthday. We did fulfill that wish and even helped her tumble a couple of sets of rocks over the month long process. I brought our results with us to the store. I asked the young lady at the counter about what might have happened. The kind older man behind the counter walked by and asked so nicely if he might step in to help. He explained that rocks have different levels of hardness and we could probably get best results by tumbling all like rocks at a time. Makes perfect sense! I was just so impressed at how kind (to us and to each other) and helpful everyone was. I think it was a father (owner perhaps?) and daughter working together and the working relationship was beautiful to experience. Everyone had a great experience at Rock Barrell and can't wait to return!

THEY CLOSE AT 4pm, not 4:30pm on Saturdays. Yelp has it wrong!…read more Until my last experience (the Saturday before Easter), I've had fairly good experiences here. However, after spending over an hour in the car to try to get here from my aunt's house in Greenville, I was rudely yelled at by the owner when entering the store. "We close in 6 minutes!!!" This was the beginning of the end for me... I live in Houston so I only get to come here when I'm in town visiting family or if I make a special trip to come stock up on fabric. I happened to be in town the weekend of Easter and tried to come here on the Friday before Easter, only to find a handwritten sign on the door that they were closed (for Good Friday) and would be open again the next day. That was a bummer, but I asked my husband if we could try to come back on Saturday as I bought fabric from here previously and I needed more of it. My family in the area lives in Greenville, so it was quite a drive to get here from their house. I saw here on Yelp that they close at 4:30pm, so we rushed and I ended up walking in 6 minutes to 4pm. How do I know this? Because as soon as I walked in, the owner screamed "we close in 6 minutes!!!" at me. I responded, "online says 4:30pm and I'm from out of town". She rudely replied "well online is wrong - we've tried to fix it but it's wrong". I rushed to grab my fabric and with 2 minutes left to 4pm, she yelled from the front "are you ready to check out?!" They had already rushed everyone else (all 2 other people) out the door and I was the only one left. Listen, I get that it was a Saturday and you're trying to go home....but you weren't open the day before due to a holiday and you now have a customer in front of you who's ready to spend money and also told you that she's in from out of town... To be treated so rudely, by the OWNER, nonetheless, is absolutely unacceptable. Next time I'm in town, I'm sticking to spending my money at the other 3 fabric warehouses next door as I will NOT be coming back to this place.

Great prices... clean store... bad customer service…read more Today WOULD have been my third visit, except I was RUSHED out the door and told they were closed.. 10 minutes before they actually closed. Then the rude lady who pushed me out the door felt the need to correct me and say it was 5 minutes until closing, and that they didn't have any customers so they were closing early.. It wouldn't be a big deal but I sat in over an hour of traffic to get there and really needed 20 yards of fabric to finish a project that is to install tomorrow. Awful customer service from this particular lady.
