What a beautiful day yesterday was. I've been dying to do a pottery class the last two years, but never had the courage to go alone. Luckily I've met some wonderful ladies through Yelp who share similar interests, so thanks to Tashana L we came upon this gem. Upon arrival you'll be asked to sign their waiver, fill out a form for the pottery piece you'll be making, write your name on a name tag & grab an apron. After that it's all fun & clay lol. Courtney was our instructor yesterday & she was fabulous. She had such a bubbly personality and was extremely supportive of everyone. Our session ran from 4-5pm and had a total of 5 people, which was perfect because we all were able to get 1:1 instruction without falling behind or feeling like a disruption. In the beginning I feel like I set unrealistic expectations by striving to make the perfect bowl but as the class progressed I realized the beauty of pottery is that much like people, no two pieces will ever be the same. So if you're reading this as you're planning to take your first class then please take a deep breath, let the self-criticism go & just flow with the form that takes shape. Unfortunately for me I got lost because the navigation told me I had arrived when I was nowhere near the right place, causing me to walk in a bit past the 4pm reservation slot. It worked out for the best, but do make sure you add an additional 15-20 minutes to your drive time so that you don't have any issues.

I had a fun experience at Trade Oak Cliff. I took the one hour wheel class where we made a bowl. At first I thought pottery would be easy, it's definitely not! It took a lot of concentration and instruction but my bowl came out beautiful! The instructor was a joy to be around. Can't wait to take another class.

My sister and I did one of their bowl making classes and absolutely loved how much fun we had!! Our bowls were ready in 2 weeks and it was so cool to create something and learn a new skill. 10/10 recommend trying to make something here with one of their amazing classes!

I took the one hour pottery wheel class at Trade Oak Cliff and it was so cute! The parking was kinda small but we got there early so it was not an issue for us; bonus points for free parking! When we arrived there, our instructor was setting up but check in was super quick. We took our seats and the instructor explained what to do! He taught us how much water to put, our hand placement, and the entire pottery process. In this class, we were not able to go through the kilning and glazing process since it was only an hour but they offer four week courses to go over the entire pottery process. I loved the class and they also offer other art classes that I will try next time!

I've been twice and had a great time both instances. They are BYOB and have snacks available for purchase. I've never struggled to find a table, but it does get busy on the weekends! -1 star because -Unlike Color Me Mine, the employees bring you paint (up to 6 colors per person), and during busy hours, you have to wait for a while to get a refill/anything if needed -There is a color in the blue section that shows as a gorgeous blue (on the pencil holder you can see end-product colors on), but really turns out more purple post-fire. I think it's 54? I wouldn't have picked it for my mug the first time I went if I had known the color would change -I asked someone working if I could get something to draw really fine white lines. She gave me a squeeze bottle that came out really thick. I saw others bottle had a thin metal piece coming from the top, but she refused to let me use that because it was "too hard to take off" from another bottle. To me, it just felt like she didn't want to put in the effort to help me Overall, it's a lot of fun! The studio fee is $8 per person, but 2x a week they have deals to save on this.

It was a bit of a short notice but Jessica (owner) was able to squeeze my daughter's birthday party group in with no problem. Jessica and Grace were very accommodating, attentive, and kind to our party guest. They have a nice section in the back of the studio for party groups with access to plenty of counter space and refrigerator if needed. There was plenty of room for our guest of 10 to work on their crafts. They also had great ceramic options to choose from at a very reasonable price. Such a cool experience for our 17 year old and her friends. There is parking available and nice scenic spots for cute photos nearby. I would highly recommend for a party celebration, date night, girls night, or family night! I definitely plan to return soon!

They have an amazing selection of pieces to paint--whether you want something classic, seasonal, or totally unique, they have something for everyone. But what really sets them apart is how helpful and encouraging they are. If you're feeling indecisive or need inspiration, they always have great suggestions and creative ideas to get you started. This past Christmas, we took our 2 1/2-year-old, and the owner went above and beyond to help us create the most precious keepsake. She helped us smoosh our child's little hands onto a plate (which, if you've ever tried, you know can be a challenge!). Then, for just a small extra fee, their in-house artist hand-painted a reindeer with "antler hands" and "Merry Christmas" wording so perfectly--it looked like it was laser-etched or Cricut-cut, but she freehanded it and layered it three or four times to absolute perfection. It turned out SO cute. I cannot emphasize that enough! The selection of pieces they have for painting is actually useful--which I love. It's not just vases or teacups (though they do have those if you want them). They have things you'd actually use in your daily life, like yarn bowls (perfect if you crochet, knit, or do fiber arts), coaster sets, and all sorts of seasonal decor for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and more. It makes the experience even better knowing that you're painting something fun that you'll also get to use or display in your home. Beyond pottery, they also offer other types of art, like mosaic glass projects. I didn't try that yet, but the examples they had on display looked really fun. I'd love to go back and give it a shot! The location is also fantastic. It's in a great part of town, where you can easily make a whole day of it. After painting, you can grab something to eat at one of the nearby restaurants, then take a stroll around the little duck pond just down the way. If you're like my husband and me and love all-day dates, this spot is a perfect starting point for a fun, relaxing day together. Whether you're looking for a solo creative escape, a fun date night, a get-together with friends, or even a special event like a bridal shower, this is the place to go! They even have a private party room that's slightly tucked away but still lets in gorgeous natural light--perfect for a small gathering. And to top it all off? Super easy parking! No stress, just a relaxing and fun experience from start to finish. Side note: This is NOT a paid review. I know it's long and maybe has that "sponsored" vibe, but I genuinely just love this place. I've been to a few different pottery painting studios before, and this one stands out because of the low-stress, welcoming atmosphere. No one is hovering over you, but they're always there if you need help. And when you finish your piece, they hype you up--but in a way that feels real and not forced. It's little things like that that make the experience so enjoyable. If you're considering going--do it! You'll have the best time.
