The one thing that changed my life around was TBell Studios. I decided to take a chance and go back to what I loved, acting. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved performing and figured this was my time, finally. I took TBell to master the craft and to focus on something that interests me; I've never felt so loved by a community. I started in the beginner's class with Suzanne. Suzanne has been such an integral part of my acting career. She helped me with the foundation and ensured I was applying the tactics necessary to put in my best work. They challenge you and pull you out of your comfort zone to show you're capable of a lot more. After 5ish months of being in her class, I've recently moved up to Intermediate with Theresa and taken my first class. Theresa is just as I imagined her, kind, compassionate, an unforgettable coach. LIFT is an amazing nonprofit organization with a mission to improve the literacy abilities of its…read morestudents by teaching them skills to pass their GED exams, thereby attaining better jobs to support themselves and their families. For the past two years, I've been proud to volunteer as an adult basic literacy instructor. The class is centered around teaching adults basic phonics so they can progress to a level of reading and spelling multi-syllable words. However, LIFT also offers courses at other levels, including pre-GED, ESL (English as a Second Language), and family classes in partnership with DISD. Almost all classes are offered at the Main Campus at the Opportunity Center in south Dallas, but there are several ESL classes all across the Dallas metroplex. LIFT has an amazing mission, and they are more than willing to equip those who want to volunteer with the appropriate training. When I see my students excel or grasp a new concept, I can't help but feel that LIFT has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life thus far.
