Tonight it was a different story. We went to Skatelands Denison for the KPOP Demon Hunter night was a mismanaged disaster. Kids getting knocked over, adults and kids trying to take the trainers from mine and other kids. Way overcrowded and completely understaffed. Gong show at best. Spent $52 for 3 kids to skate (I was charged and had no intention of skating) plus trainers for the kids. Was there barely an hour and witnessed at least a dozen kids getting hurt and two of my three ended up getting hurt by other people falling onto them resulting in them falling. I talked to the owner on the way out stating my displeasure over the crowded environment and injuries. Response was something like "I can't control how many people show up to these things". Yes, you can actually. This event should have had tickets sold in advance with either a more limited or timed capacity. Not just letting hundreds of people in like a herd of cattle waiting to go to pasture. The private party I held for my daughter a few weeks prior was almost $900 after gratuity. For the owner not to give a care about my comments was really disappointing. As a result I told him flat out I will not have additional birthday parties for my other kids there.

********LIFE SAVER*****…read more This past Sunday was my daughters baby shower event in Downtown Dallas. I am in Oklahoma at our lake home, when we realize on Thursday, we didn't get a canvas framed. We drove to Sherman, Texas, last Thursday to Hobby Lobby as they have a photo frame studio. They could have it done in 2 weeks. I needed it NOW for Sunday's shower. We both were exhausted and overwhelmed as time was of the essence. We turned to Yelp, and found Sparrows Gallery. One phone call and Tammy said it wasn't an issue. So I arrived in Denison, Tx, about 25 miles from our lake home on Friday morning. I arrived at 9:45, they opened at 10am, on Friday. Tammy was calm, most welcoming, genuine, sincere and most helpful. I needed to run some much needed last minute errands and returned in an hour. Our canvas was extremely beautifully framed by her amazing husband Mark. They both are incredible and so warm and friendly. They invited me to an an art showing that evening and I would have loved to attend. They have beautiful signed, numbered paintings from various artists. Mark, Tammy, and beautiful small doggie Abby are an asset to Texoma Land. I have a numbered canvas I bought for my son recently and will take to them to frame. So proficient in art and framing. I left with a beautiful canvas and a custom necklace made by a 73 year old artist which is stunning. Thank you, Mark, Tammy, and precious Abby. I got framed at Sparrows Gallery in Denison, Texas :) Luv ya and thanks!

They have lovingly restored Carleton House and amassed a collection of antique musical instruments, photographs, and other artifacts displayed throughout the home. The very informative tour included music played by Karen and Steve. I can't say enough about the breakfasts; Karen is an outstanding cook, and she was very considerate about our dietary restrictions. We ate in the music room in front of a cozy fire on a different set of beautiful china each day. The attention to detail everywhere was amazing: rose petals and chocolates in the room, wide selection of shampoos/conditioners/etc., fresh baked cookies on arrival, I could go on and on. We will definitely be back!

We booked this venue because of the outside beauty and the owner telling us how smooth other…read moreweddings have gone. We completely regret booking with her. When we booked we were told we had to book her security guard at $25 an hour for the length of the reception if we had alcohol and that we could self serve if we only had wine and beer as long as we had someone with liquor license there it was fine. Right after we signed the contract the first security guard quit and she had to hire a new one and he was more expensive at $35 an hour and had to be there for the ceremony too which we thought was weird but went with it. Also when we booked she said she had a $600 security deposit formality that was required and most brides just wrote her a check and then she handed it back at the end of the night. Also something we were fine with. At the rehearsal she went to my husband's parents and a bridesmaid and the best person asking about money and when we were paying this deposit. She never once went to me and my husband while we were there and she knew we were paying for the venue not our families. One of the groomsmen made a bad joke about weed (we live in Oklahoma where it's legal but he wasn't going to bring any because it isn't in Texas he was joking about showing up stoned) and she freaked out and said that we had to make sure that we had $600 when we got there and she would be keeping it to check her venue for damage and then refunding it and we needed a bartender because self serve was no longer ok. We told her we could cancel the alcohol because we couldn't find a bartender on 12 hours notice. When we got to the venue she said she got us a bartender as a gift to us but the bartender told my husband that she is booked last minute like this all the time. The security guard we had to hire played on his phone most of the night until a bridesmaid pointed it out to the owner that since we are paying him he should do his job. When my husband tried to make conversation with him about where he's licensed and what he does when he's not working weddings he wouldn't answer. So I'm not sure if he is licensed. We used a small speaker she provided for the reception and I was later told she kept coming by and turning it down. The reception was indoors, we didn't have it very loud to start with, and she was out in the country so no noise ordinance applied and the reception was over at 9:30pm
