He got there in 50 and carefully loaded the boat. It was Sunday, the bearing chewed up the hub and I was 200 miles from home. I was Screwed! Smith Automotive Towing and Recovery is by far the worst towing company I have ever dealt with. My car broke down, and after calling them, I was told a truck would arrive within 30 minutes. TWO HOURS later, I was still waiting, only to be met with a rude dispatcher who clearly couldn't care less. When the driver finally arrived, he was unfriendly and unprofessional, acting like he was doing me a favor. To make matters worse, they charged me an outrageous fee for a simple tow--way more than they originally quoted! The worst part? The most honest, upfront and nice guy you could want as your service manager. I took my car in today for an oil change and other minor stuff, and mentioned to them that the engine seems to make a very faint whining noise as the RPM's go up. The road tested it and said that the alternator is making that slight noise, but it's good for now and no need to replace it because there is still life left in it. I've taken my 330i here for a long time, and I have never EVER been upsold or told to replace anything just so they could get some $$ out of me. Other places (especially the local BMW dealer!!!) in town would jump on the occasion to tell me that the alternator needed replacing, probably along with some other made-up stuff. Not GS Tuning. They are honest, direct, and just exactly what you would want your service shop for you car (especially BMW) to be. They have a loyal customer in me! Can't recommend them highly enough. ***Update--I had a crack in the overflow tank for the radiator. To replace they had to remove a couple of things. Robert told me that since my car hadn't had any coolant system replacement (It's a 2002 and has 130k miles). Since they had to take some things off to get to the tank, if I wanted to replace some (or all) of the system, it would be cheaper labor-wise to do it then. No pressure, and they were honestly saying it was up to me, and trying to get the most bang for my buck. I opted to get the whole thing done and turned out to not be as bad as I had thought price-wise. I still can't recommend them highly enough!

One thing I've learned the hard way is that tint is not about the product, it's about the installer. You can have the best film in the world and still get a bad result if the install isn't right. These guys understand that at a high level. Most dealerships won't tint the front windshield, and that's a must for me. I always go with 3M Crystalline for heat rejection and clarity. Instead of wasting time coordinating schedules, I just text Tate. No back and forth, no headaches. They pick up the car, do their work, and drop it back exactly where it was. I'll be out of town, come back, and the cars are sitting right where I left them with the keys placed safely and everything handled professionally. That level of trust is rare. I've been working with them for over four years now, and they've touched a lot of my cars. Not once have I had to chase them down, worry about quality, or question the work. The shop itself is dialed in, but what stands out more is the people. They're young, they're hungry, they're competitive with pricing, and they care about what they're doing. That combination is hard to find. Another thing most people wouldn't think about is handling the cars themselves. My driveway has a steep 20 percent plus grade, and these guys handle getting cars in and out without hesitation. That alone tells you they're comfortable, experienced, and respectful with high-value vehicles. Disappointing Experience - Warranty Repairs Still Unresolved…read more I chose this company to wrap and ceramic-coat my Tesla Cybertruck because they are local and I wanted to support a local business. I expected quality workmanship and reliable after-sales support, particularly given their advertised lifetime workmanship warranty. Unfortunately, the wrap began lifting and peeling, and the ceramic coating lost its hydrophobic properties after only a few months. Both Noah and Tate acknowledged my concerns. Tate specifically discussed replacing affected panels and applying another ceramic coating. However, despite repeated attempts to arrange the repairs, I've experienced multiple scheduling delays, cancellations and poor communication. On one occasion, I had my Cybertruck ready for a confirmed 9 AM pickup, but the team arrived several hours late. On another occasion, the scheduled work was delayed because the necessary replacement materials were unavailable. Noah eventually directed me to coordinate directly with Tate, but my subsequent messages went unanswered. I have repeatedly made it clear that my Cybertruck is available for the repairs, so scheduling on my end is not the obstacle. I understand that businesses experience staffing challenges and operational changes, but those circumstances should not prevent a company from honoring its warranty or communicating with its customers. I am now considering filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), regardless of whether NorCal Wraps is BBB-accredited. BBB accreditation is not required for a consumer to submit a complaint. I have retained the invoices, photographs and written communications documenting the defects, repair commitments and repeated scheduling problems. I would still prefer to resolve this directly with NorCal Wraps. However, after more than a year of dealing with these issues, I expect a concrete resolution rather than another promise to schedule the work.
