Everyone was so friendly, it felt like home. The restaurant was very cute. Not overly fancy. Just clean, bright, and welcoming. If we are in Ashland again, we will DEFINITELY be back. The patio space feels very open and has a lot of live plants in the planters that make space between tables. It was a little warm on the patio since it was 98 degrees outside, but they keep it relatively cool on this mostly enclosed patio. Our server was great. She was so friendly and fun to talk to. She helped us figure out what we wanted to order and checked in on us just the right amount. You can tell the food here is very fresh and homemade. We started with the Deviled Eggs, which are really special. I love how they serve them over a bed of crushed up potato chips as they give this dish some salty crunch. Next we had the Beet salad, which is marinated beets over a whipped cheese. The beets do have a strong vinegar flavor, but it's balanced out beautifully by the cheese. My wife ordered the Mushroom Bolognese, which was probably the best dish of the evening. This is an incredible, vegetarian dish that is so meaty without any meat. The finely diced mushroom sauce is so good along with the handmade noodles. Also, adding burrata to it gives it a perfect creaminess. I ordered the pork chop, which was also excellent and enormous. It did take me a lot longer to eat since it was a little hard to cut, the compote on top added a great sweetness, but I feel like it could've used more. Also, the polenta and grilled asparagus was awesome. Lastly, we got the Rice Pudding for dessert. It comes with a hazelnut crumble and a dolce de leche sauce. Normally, I feel like rice pudding has a kind of thin, milky consistency, but not this. It is think and has a wonderful texture. It is probably the best rice pudding I've ever had. The nuts give a satisfying crunch and the dolce de leche sauce is light and sweet. Disclaimer: we did order one dish we really didn't like. It was a special salad with endives and lentils. The server was happy to get us another dish.

Pro tip here is to not sleep on the salads. They are made really well, with balanced flavors and textures. It's a perfect meal to get the lunch special which comes with a salad of your choice (I recommend the Creekside salad) and a slice of pizza. The main issue is if you are a pizza snob (guilty as charged), the bakes on the pizzas are really inconsistent. They often don't use a cooling rack when the pizzas come out, so the crust instantly becomes moist from trapped steam. When the kitchen is slammed, the pizzas are flop city, and sometimes a soupy mess. If they set up quality measures to get a nice crisp crust, they could keep up with their cross-town rivals in the plaza. For now they trail on pizza quality due to inconsistency. Because of all this, I think of Creekside as more of a bar than a specialty pizza place. I enjoy it for what it is, which is pretty darn good.

I really don't understand the negative reviews. I tried the place out because a UPS driver highly recommended it. He told me you can get spaghetti and a salad for a small price. The sphaghetti was nothing to rave about, but not bad either. It was a good value for lunch. I wasn't expecting anything fancy. I like their pizza better than any other pizza in town. They are very generous with the toppings. I'd give the pizza 4 stars. I only order the vegetarian and it's the only place in town that gives me a huge helping of fresh veggies. (I ordered a veggie pizza from Great American Pizza and had to use a spyglass to find the overly chopped vegetables!). Northwest uses nice big slices of zuccini and doesn't scrimp with the black olives or the onions. As expected with vegetables, the pizza can use a tad more salt or seasoning, but I make that adjustment myself (usually with the little packets of crushed red pepper flakes -- that kicks it up a notch). The place is dark inside kinda like Mountain Mike's in East Medford but it's supposed to be because it's a place for watching sports on the big screen while enjoying a brew. It has big booths perfect for get-togethers. The pinball machine and arcade games make it a great place to take kids. (I'm an adult and I've popped in a few quarters while waiting for the pizza -- it's fun. The pinball machine is actually quite challenging.) My dad also likes their pizza (he likes sausage and pepperoni) and he orders it for home delivery. It's the ONLY pizza he will eat (he tried Great American and didn't like it either). I recommend Northwest for their pizza and its generous toppings. read more

Just went in tonight for the second time and thought I should write a review as the people who own and operate this restaurant deserve it. Generally speaking, it is the positive interactions with other people that govern our perceptions, and in that vein I truly believe Northwest Pizza stands out. Although I ordered take out, the dining area was relatively full and appeared to be made up of mostly families, something which parents will appreciate. My order was brought out to me by a very friendly man whom I believe to be the owner, who took the time to go over my order to assure that everything was correct. The pizza's were delicious, the 1/2 order of Jo's is very large and could easily feed 4- 6 people, plus there are delicious crunchy bits mixed in that really put it over the top. The greek salad was very fresh and rounded everything out, and if you do order a tub o' ranch you will quickly find that it is not a misnomer. I think I can safely say that this will be our new go to spot on pizza night! To sum it up great pizza, wonderful family and large group set up, and most importantly, caring and friendly small business owners who deserve recognition. read more

This is our first time trying this place and we will definitely be returning when we are in Ashland! The garden harvest stromboli was excellent. The kids ate their whole pizza! The portions for the fettuccini alfredo and spaghetti were huge...definitely had left overs (yummmm). The gluten free crust is nice and crunchy, not soggy like a lot of pizza places. A group next to us had ordered the Joe Joes, and they looked so good my husband asked the people how they were and they ended up offering him one. We will be ordering them at our next visit. The people working (not sure if one was the owner) were very helpful, and even took the time to let us know what ingredients were used in the items we purchased (dietary restrictions). They have a pool table and some video games to occupy the time while waiting for the food, and at least 8 tvs that display multiple games at a time, so, if you are into the sports channels, I'm sure you won't miss your favorite team play. Usually we eat at Sauce when we are visiting...I'm glad they were closed for the holidays, or we may never have tried this place. read more

I had gone in to NW Pizza on occasion before the new owners - mostly for sports team pizza parties for my kids. Not terribly impressed, but did the trick for pizza after a soccer game. I've seen the renovations going on for quite some time, but just last night ate there with my family for the first time. WOW. What a huge difference! They've made all the right moves with the atmosphere and how they've set up the area for the kids to hang out and the TVs, etc. All of my kids (ages 8 - 18) absolutely loved it and I was able to hang out with the adults without being pestered by bored kids. But the food was really where it was at. Fantastic salad and pizza and an enormous pan of the best jojos I've ever tasted to get us started. And, it was very reasonably priced! Northwest pizza has just moved into the top slot in terms of my favorite pizza place in Ashland. We'll be back! read more

This review is specifically for Nikki at Northwest and the great service she delivered under stressful working conditions. The place was severely understaffed, her being the only server while we were there. We felt so bad because she was literally running around the entire place, taking people's orders, cleaning up, and ringing people up. But at the same time, very impressed, because she did it all with a smile and no complaints! The food was pretty good. We made sure to let her know that we appreciated her service and let the owner know as well. We stayed in Ashland last night and gave this place a try. They know how to make a really good pizza. Top notch crust. The gluten-free crust is pretty good too. Our group is a little crazy with special dietary needs and they did every backflip they could to accommodate us. I mean seriously, they were running things out of the kitchen to show us ingredients to make sure they would work for us (is the feta really goat or is it cow? yadayada). It seems like a husband and wife team - kudos to them for doing it right. Made us kind of sad that we don't live in Ashland so we could go there more often. Not sure which is better - the pizza or the staff! Our Non-Profit agency, Ashland Supportive Housing and Community Outreach likes to reward our staff with treats from time to time, and NW Pizza is the favorite! Staff there have been very supportive of our agency, from giving us the entire restaurant for a lunch meeting to agreeing to deliver pizza before they officially open for the day, all with a smile and no hesitations. As they frequently tell us, they like to support those doing good work in the community. So not only do they make awesomely delicious pizza, they are a positive force in the community as well! read more

This was my first time back since the change in ownership. It was quite different, and I liked it a lot better than before. I used to absolutely avoid this place, as the pizza was horrible. There are clearly big changes, including an updated menu with quite a few tasty looking options and the interior has been brightened and cleaned up. I really have a soft spot for actual pizza parlors, which have pool and old video games as I used to go to them a lot as a kid. Not only do they make awesome, hgh-quality food (the salads are jaw-dropping), they do amazing things for the community, like Veteran's day free meals and just generally offering a wholesome family restaurant that is affordable with great food. My friend was in the mood for pizza so she ordered an individual one with five toppings for $11. We were told that the man making the pizzas was the owner. The pizza when delivered in 20 minutes had a huge amount of toppings so it was almost hard to see the cheese underneath. My friend also mentioned when ordering that she liked a lot of sauce. The owner brought a little cup of their house made marinara sauce for her to add on top of her delicious pizza which she enjoyed. She said that she liked the thin crust fine. I decided to have the all I could eat salad bar. Not many restaurants have salad bars anymore so it was nice to have this option. Toppings were as expected at a salad bar and it was kept well stocked. There was no protein like chicken or ham cubes but there were hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese and garbanzo beans. There were five salad dressing choices. I ate two full plates so I got my $10 worth. I'm not sure the price for one trip to the salad bar. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The gal who worked there and the owner stopped by our table a couple of times to be sure we were enjoying our meal. My friend ate 4 pieces of her hearty pizza and took two pieces home for her husband. I did use the restroom which was very clean and well stocked. She took the order which included one large 1/2 & 1/2 pizza and onion rings. The girl taking our order couldn't recall what sauce options were available for the onion rings, and asked me to please hold on before finally telling me what the choices were. At the end of the call I asked her what the total bill came to as they don't show prices on their website menu. She told me it was under $45.00. I asked her for the specific amount, and she repeated it was under $45.00. I then asked her how much each item was, and she told me the pizza was $33.00 and the onion rings were $9.75. I told her the total was $42.75. It's absolutely confounding that a person can't add those two numbers together in their head! Husband picked up our order, and it was still warm when he returned home with it. The pizza crust has zero flavor, the cheese tastes like it is pre shredded from a bag, and the ratio of cheese to crust is overwhelming. I peeled back the glop of cheese to taste the sauce. It has a slight tin taste like you get from canned sauce. The pepperoni lacked any spice, and the Canadian bacon had no flavor. The onion rings were incredibly greasy. The only positive part of this experience was how nice the girl was who answered the telephone to take my order. The one star is for how polite she was! Unfortunately, this is a "one and done" for us. The chickens are going to have a field day feast tomorrow, as we couldn't eat it. Save your money and your tastebuds, and choose another pizza joint.

The loaded wedges were pretty good, but again, a little too over done. One thing that turned me off was seeing the cooks in the back eating while the other cooks were working. It just not a good look in my opinion. I'd liked to try the original Morrtons in Medford, but I'm not sure we'd venture back here.
