$79 for basic Internet. Price seems to be rising every few months now. I hope somebody else serves the area.

Service is awful. Constantly having to reboot the system. Prices are high for what you get.

I have been a customer of 281 Communications for 1 year and 4 months until this month. My initial…read morereview was a very positive 5 star review. Unfortunately, this is no longer my opinion them or the owner Tim. Here is a list of every documented outage in the time I was using 281 December 12, 2023 November 15, 2023 November 11, 2023 October 8, 2023 August 17, 2023 August 7, 2023 May 13, 2023 April 6, 2023 February 7, 2023 January 22, 2023 December 8, 2022 November 24, 2022 November 28, 2022 November 7, 2022 October 25, 2022 October 1, 2022 September 23, 2022 September 20, 2022 September 6, 2022 September 2, 2022 Now, in the beginning they were incredibly helpful and responsive to my reports, which was great. I can take some outages as that's just part of living in the country with internet (that is until Starlink came along). What I cannot take is going days or even weeks without communication and having to use my Verizon hotspot while I have zero communication with my internet provider. Let me be clear, I used text, phone and email to reach 281 multiple times with no response for days or like I said prior, weeks! In the end, I respectfully gave notice and canceled my service without asking for any discount EVER for the poor service. I was told by the owner to disconnect my router by the end of December and to take a picture and send it to him of the router being unplugged (not sure why because they can see when my router was plugged in or not because I paid for them to manage my mesh system). I messed up and misread his email telling me to take a picture and just unplugged it by the 31st of December. Because of this the owner (Tim) charged me for an additional month. He later (after I questioned him) did refund half of it, however refused to refund the rest because I did not take a picture. Again, it was completely disconnected on the 30th of December, and they can see that from their end because I paid extra for them to manage my entire mesh system. I get it, I did not follow his instruction to the "T" however given the history and the fact that I gave notice and then did disconnect my system by the 31st, I can only describe this action as petty. $152 does not really affect me in any way, however bad business irritates me greatly. This is why I felt it necessary to update my review today so that others will see what kind of business this is before making a terrible decision. Starlink is cheaper and way faster with zero glitches or downtime so far. I prefer using a small local business typically, but if you're in the market for internet in the hill country, I would highly recommend NOT using 281 communications.

In addition, I just switched Internet providers for three times the speed costing $30 a month less than 281 Internet. So if you want substandard service for more cost than competitors,

I was paying $197 for two lines; my mom, who is 84 does nothing more than call. They told me there was nothing they could do. I said OK and headed to Verizon. My experience with Lauren was pleasant, she was kind, understanding and easy to work with. The fact that her demeanor was pleasant; she was very patient with whomever she was dealing with on the other end. Yes I understand it's her job, but she could have handled it a whole lot differently. I tipped her on the way out the door. It took 3 1/2 hours to get everything switched over; even then the process wasn't finished. They gave me a temporary phone number; only because my number was so old supposedly; that ATT wouldn't release it‍. Not really sure what that meant. I would have to come back three days later to switch back to my old number. Which I did; that took another 1 1/2 out of another day in my week. Verizon could lower my bill to a $164 monthly and if I signed up for auto-pay it would take another $20's off. PERFECT! Love that! To accomplish this; Verizon would pay off both phones from ATT; move everything over, we would still have the same phone numbers; my mom could use the phone I was using from ATT and I would purchase a new 12 or 15. I was still very HAPPY with my 6SE. Then the rates would be locked in for three years. I say all that to say this; that was on March 7th 2025. I paid $160 in store to get the plan started; was assured I wouldn't have a payment until the end of April. At the end of March $164 came out of my account; I had not signed up for auto-pay yet. I was NOT HAPPY about the unexpected payment. But wait there's more! Not ONLY did that payment come out! Verizon didn't pay off my mom's phone and AT&T billed me $193.34 on April 7th. After all that, my Verizon account then showed; my next payment would be on April 27th for $144....yeah On April 8th I receive this!! Verizon Msg: Your balance of $193.67 is scheduled for eCheck payment on 4/21/25. View your bill at m.vzw.com/MyBill I am now getting dressed to go back to the Verizon store in Marble Falls; I pray Lauren is there! NOT ONLY IS IT $50 MORE THAN IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE; IT IS ALMOST THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT I WAS PAYING AT AT&T!!!! Needless to say I AM HOT!

As the child was leaving a male employee--who was kind--asked her a question and again the female was abrupt and told the child to leave. Well done Verizon. Cris worked with me to design a Ubiquiti system that fit our needs and budget and made multiple recommendations to make sure our needs were met without inflating cost. He then outfitted our 12,000sq ft warehouse with Wifi, magnetic door locks, complete camera coverage inside and out, and configured our console, switch, and NVR so it was up and running right out of the gate. During all of this we were actively setting up the warehouse with heavy machinery, racks, and workstations and Cris had no problem working with and around us so there was no interruption in our daily operations. His knowledge was invaluable in evaluating products and general IT configuration. He was always on time and stayed in contact regarding re-scheduling when there were multiple roadblocks on our end - like not having a ramp to get the lift outside. I would highly recommend Fusion for any IT installs.

We never mind paying but my husband got laid off June 16 and I barely made it out of a high risk pregnancy and had post partum issues. I'm confused if my account is simnet wireless or blazing hog as she stated he said she can't work with me from blazing hog and if we don't pay today it gets disconnected. My husband gets unemployment and $232 ain't much before taxes. We have done our best and are. It doesn't go far when we're a family of six. Very disappointing. Have it to where we can pay partial in advance and the rest when it's due as another billing option for families please.
