Zeecon sucks get anything but them. Slow and they answer the phone and hardly reply to emails

I normally don't write a review but today I am. I live in Llano and constantly having problems with their equipment. Something is always going down. It's only been this year I've had so many connection problems. Mine went down yesterday and still not up. And we haven't even had a storm. It's way over 105 degrees everyday. TERRIBLE! STAY AWAY! Doug, is the worse technician! A couple months ago, I had an issue with my internet not working with any device. I tried my router, I tried plugging it in directly to their equipment... Nothing worked. I tried calling them numerous times and no one called me back so finally I had to reach them on Facebook. Doug proceeded to argue with me for most of the day saying that I didn't do what I was supposed to and refused to help me. Instead, he just blamed me for it not working. It took Casey and Ty to step in and actually found out that the issue WAS ON THEIR END. If I had another choice even slightly better for internet, I would take it. TERRIBLE! read more

We couldn't get anything (aside from Satellite) where we live until April 2016. We get about 5 Mbps on average and seldom have outages (now February 2017) and the one outage that was of a period longer than an hour is acceptable in my book due to the fact that it was on a Sunday and the technology involved. It's fast enough for streaming, the price is acceptable, and I recommend it to my neighbors. read more

So far so good. Triple the speed I was getting from Frontier communications which is the worst company I've ever felt with and I've dealt with alot. Costs more but I'm getting what I'm paying for. I've seen all the negative reviews so I'm hoping those are old and things have improved. If not I'll be back but right now I'm very happy. read more

This company is the WORST! If you have any alternatives available you should use them even if they are much more expensive. Take my word for it, it will be well worth it. They have frequent and extended outages for which they take no responsibility. If I pay for internet expect to have it or at least have a prorated credit applied. Nope, they blame their lack of service on someone "upstream" and offer no compensation for the DAYS you are without service. If you are so inclined to put your account in autopay you will be prepaying by a month and if you cancel your service you are not refunded for the days you have not used. However they charge their customers "on different days depending on accounting" so you can not use the internet you have prepaid for without fear that they will charge a few days early starting your month over again! After going around in circles with accounting about their prepay system I asked for my account to be taken off prepay. I had a ZERO balance and had paid on time. With no communication whatsoever a representative from their company came to my house and took their equipment while I was at work. I would have given them 0 stars if that was an option! read more

I have had ZEECON for about 3 yrs. At first they were absolutely horrible. Customer service was horrible, tech support was a joke and the "after hours tech support" was non existent. After going round and round and actually corresponding through email with the owner of the company. They called and nearly everyone in the office has apologized, just they let me know, they were making serious changes to the way customers were handled, and after hours tech support was being revamped. They came through true to there promise. NOW... if there is an outage on Sunday, they will call back and atleast set your mind at ease, letting you know whats going on and an estimated time given to have problem corrected. KUDOS to Zeecon. I ONLY Give a 4 star because.... (I am being forced to go to another provider) Otherwise I would have rated a 5. . BUT I would recommend them based on there service both in office and field. 5Mgbs for $79 with Zeecon vs. $15 mgbs with a competitor, which is rediculous considering they are both tower/satelite services. Zeecon needs to get with the game and compete. People are dropping cable companies daily and doing more streaming (which is what we are doing) So they need to compete (5 mgbs is the best they have in my location and at SUPER hi price) read more

The service at Zeecon has gotten significantly better since installation of a new tower about 6 months ago (and oddly enough since they now have competition in our area). I have had maybe one down issue which was out of their control due to a tower outage and although they once again sent callers straight to voicemail during the outage they at least updated their voice mail to tell you about the problem which saved me much frustration. I am not so sure I am comfortable enough to openly recommend them based on past experience but I can tell you that they have improved ten fold and if someone said to me "do you know who services our area" I would tell them Zeecon but happily exclude the "but they suck" remark. It is unfortunate that I cannot enjoy the good fast internet I am now getting as this positive Zeecon relationship is a little too late, we are moving out of the service area in less than 2 months. It appears we are a victim of our location in Kingsland. Our signal is delivered by wifi from a tower a mile away. At night, we are lucky if we can stream a video from Netflix. During the day the signal is ok but at night it is almost non existence. If more than two family members are on the wifi, it slows to a crawl. I think dial up was faster. If you know of a faster provider you should probably look into it. read more

Nathan I want to thank you for attempting to contact me on my issue. Since we spoke I found that another competitor offers double the download speed service at a little more than half the price so I will be using them. What's even better is there's no annual contract and no requirement to stay with them if their service slips which is a different business model than Zeecon. I know the service problems are not your fault since you are only the customer service rep and I wish you better success in the future. Just throw your money away. All you will only be dissapointed. Tried 1 year of service with nothing but failures on them and their systems. Even after cancelation, they drop the ball. I am having to remove their antennae again. They left it up after the prior subscriber canceled. Now I am having to do it again. Should have known better after I was warned. Technology great when it works. Customer care - non existent. This company disappears on weekends so when service goes down on Saturday morning expect it to be out for awhile. Phone call goes to VM and are not returned. Second call hours later takes to a full mailbox and a try your call later message. I was trying to get service from this company. Was told that he would talk to the technician when he came in to get us on the schedule for an install last week. But no one called. Emailed them, no response. Called to day and was told it would be Jan 7th before we could get on the schedule. I explained that I had told the person last week that we would only be at the house (new purchase) until Jan 2nd when we would return to our old place (still moving from out of town). So told them I would have to call back when I knew when we would be back at the new place. After reading the reviews here I will NOT be calling them back. We tried to get internet from Zeecon. They came out and told us they could not provide service to us. We asked them to come out again and look at a different way to do it, that it might get to the towers. They said they would come out again. When we did not receive a call, we called them. I was told that a rep had come out and we still could not get service. When my son called, he was told that a rep had not been out. What???? We were told by the manager that someone would be out. My son received a e-mail stating that they were going with what the first rep said. We have found another internet provider which is cheaper and faster. Called Friday and Monday they were out there and took care of everything. After reading these reviews from customers of Zeecon, I'm glad we did not go with Zeecon read more

Now living in the hill country we know the terrain makes receiving service a challenge, but zeecon has got our family back to speed. I am a former customer of this business having had a bad experience. After signing up for automatic monthly web payments for internet service, an error occurred whereby instead of $50 per month being debited from my bank account, $500 was taken out in one month. Contact with the owner was hostile on his part. I ended up suing in small claims court and won because it was obvious to the judge and anyone seeing my bank statement what had happened. Terrible company verging on criminal practices. Sign a contract and you'll suffer through a year of paying for a service you'll never receive. At least not as advertised. I signed up for a business class 5MBPS connection which in and of itself is a joke but being in the country it was the best available at the time. Anyway, I never saw those speeds and more often than not I hovered at or below 1MBPS down and 3MBPS up which is less than the slower residential service. They outsell their equipment capacity and will string you along with promises they never intend to keep. read more

Customer Service is almost non-existent. Call for after hours tech support and rarely get a call back so I usually have to wait till they are actually in to get any help. Rarely get the actual download speeds they promise. I'm very surprised that they have not used the money they made for years in this area to upgrade their equipment. I've since moved on to Rise Broadband and I'm getting 5 times the speed for less money monthly. I would definitely recommend looking into any other option but these guys for service. Oh, and I love how there opening message when you call them is how they have been voted best internet provider 3 years running. Yeah....maybe that was true 10 years ago. I honestly don't know how these guys are still in business unless you just can't get anything else or you just are not informed of other options available in your area. If you live out in the Granite Shoals area and you can't get DSL or Cable internet I would recommend checking into Rise Broadband. They have really been expanding in this area. I couldn't get service where I live about 6 months ago and they have since put up at least 2 new towers in this area. Sorry Zeecon, but you are just falling behind the times I'm afraid. If you want to survive my recommendation would be to start upgrading your equipment. read more

I have been a customer of Zeecon's for about four years now. Service is usually steady, but sometimes slow I can deal ok with that. This past Sunday, the 1st, my service went down. Any weekend call you make to see what's going on never gets returned. I had left them 2 messages regarding my service being out that day. They had a recorded message saying all of the problems in the area were fixed (except Spicewood) and to leave a message that would be returned after the holiday. Unacceptable. I missed a couple great football games I had been planning to watch that day (I use ROKU to watch tv) sooooo..... Then I called them on the second. VOICEMAIL (guess they were still out???) Then I called on the 3rd. Told me to unplug box and back in...bla bla bla. I told the gal that wasn't working then let her know that it's very unprofessional to leave customers hanging. (no response or apology for inconvenience.)She said she would have a tech scheduled to come out. Its the fourth now. I'm S.O.L. another day without use of my tv or computer. Service guy is supposed to come out tomorrow to see what is wrong. We'll see. Sounds like they only have one service techinican that goes out for service. So....if you use Zeecon and the service goes out while its the weekend or out of town family is over to watch games on NFL Sunday Ticket....good luck. How cheap is that??????? read more

Not open on Saturdays, they close at 430 and we lost internet once for a day and a half. But if they're the only crappy business to offer internet where you live I guess you're out of luck. Since when have businesses been so lazy as to not provide services because they don't feel like installing the equipment? A word of advice to Zeecon... Right now you're the only game in town out by lake LBJ. Instead of dorking around being mediocre because you don't have any competition,why not grow your business and create a little customer loyalty by taking advantage of the fact you have no competition and provide decent service? It won't be long before someone like verizon or AT&T figures out there's money to be made out here and people will RUN to them because of the monopoly you currently have and that's when you'll wish you had done a better job. read more

Our internet had gone out and Doug from Zeecon came out to fix it. It was the second time in about 3 weeks that the wind had turned our antenna, so Doug anchored it down and tightened it up. Doug was a very friendly and personable person. It was greatly appreciated that he took the extra time to ensure that we would not have the same problem again. Because we moved from a large city to a remote lake area in the hill country, we knew receiving adequate internet services would be a challenge. We first went with a large internet service which was a disaster, due to extremely poor customer service and communication difficulties with upper management to resolve ongoing internet issues. As a result, we decided to try the local internet company, Zeecon, for hopefully a better internet experience. The management and staff of Zeecon were as friendly as they were professional. Internet installation was quickly achieved and the speed was adequate for residential purposes. However, we experienced a little difficulty streaming TV services with router issues due to our remote location. The Zeecon staff went above and beyond to help us resolve this problem; spending numerous hours with me on the phone to troubleshoot the problem. In addition, the company sent a third party to our residence within that same week to assess the situation. Afterwards, a crew was sent back to our home within that same week to modify the equipment and we quickly achieved streaming status. As a result, we are extremely happy with our choice of Zeecon for internet purposes. There's something to be said about supporting your local community and having the ability to physically communicate in person with your internet company if problems arise. Residential internet is frequently utilized in our residence, and we feel confident we have made the right choice with this internet provider. read more

Zeecon has just been the absolute WORST internet provider ever. out here in spicewood there really is no other providers that can get signal out here. So i understand being so far away from town it can be difficult to get a signal. but that is NO excuse for the customer service zeecon offers. 98% of the time if you call there is no answer and they will almost NEVER call you back. it frequently takes WEEKS for an issue to get resolved no matter how minor. And the internet is just so inconsistent! we will adjust the tower to be pointed different or to be higher and the internet will be PERFECT for a few weeks then it will completley drop or go to complete crap. it took me 5 minutes to even pull up yelp to write this review. read more

Was a great choice about 1year ago, now service is dial-up speed and reliability at best. I live in Buchanan Dam, TX and in the last 2-3 months thier service is on and off hourly. I think they took on too many customers. I recommended them to many clients about a year ago, now I wish they had not signed up. I am having to use my Verizon Wireless card as a back up. I live in Spicewood, Tx and I used to not have any problems with Zeecon's wireless internet but it seems in the last 6 months that I cannot get the system to keep from going down and it is very slow. It reminds me of dial up. I am taking online classes of which now I am way behind. I would avoid Zeecon Wireless at all costs. I asked for a transfer of service on January 2nd, and didn't hear a word back from them for a week. I decided to go with another provider (with whom I am also dissatisfied). I called and talked to an idiot that clearly didn't know the procedures of disconnecting, and I figured I was finished with them. Until I received an emailed bill from them today. I called and talked to Paul, who wanted to argue with me. Paul was who I talked to about a transfer, and nothing happened. I finished with Paul, and received another phone call from someone named Sara(h). She wanted to argue with me as well. I told her that I was not paying anything else to them, and she threatened to send my bill to collections. I tried to explain to her (loudly) what my problem was, and she just wanted to keep interrupting me. So she hung up on me. I called back and asked her if I could plead my case without interruptions. She let me speak, then told me that I was in the wrong because I didn't do the proper disconnect procedure. That's not my problem because the idiot that I disconnected with didn't say a word about procedure. She told me that she had proof of someone getting back to me about a transfer, and put me on hold to get that info. (shouldn't you have that on hand if you are going to call me back and tell me that I have to pay???) I was on hold for a few minutes, and hung up and called right back. She told me that she was done with me and was going to take care of my bill and she never wants to hear back from me again. I take that as she really had no proof of anything! I have been with this company for years and even paid my bill a year at a time (I have since stopped). It was good in the beginning, but I guess as they have increased their customer base there is to many of us trying to get on. We never have service throughout the day and off/on in evening. Most of the time you have to wait until about 11:00pm for decent services. We have checked several times and even though ZeeCon claims 3 Down and 1 Up, we have NEVER had more then 1 Down and .5 Up. I call to complain and all I am ever told is to reset everything or the storms have effected their equipment. No one has ever come out to check things or attempted to help in any other way. If I call and talk to different people within a 24hr period I get completely different stories as to why I am having problems. They recently contacted me and wanted to upgade my equipment (antenna on roof), but my bill would double with NO increase of Download or Upload. Looking to change. read more
