Heading to the drive in and stopped here for snacks. No long lines, it was fast and convenient. Found lots of snacks and more.

a variety of meats for sale

Meat department as soon as you get close to the area it stinks. It stinks like you're not wanna be up there. Everything else looks good but the meat department is horrible.

Don't come here unless you want expired food or moldy food. I came here multiple times thinking maybe i just got a bad batch of fruit or food but my last straw was when i got moldy tamales that have been expired FOR A WHOLE MONTH.

They tried compensating me $20 on account of the COCKROACH that came out in my tacos. Never going back to northgate again

Carne asada, carnitas, and chicken tacos

This review is for the hot food service only! The hot food service has a variety of mexican foods from tacos, tortas, tamales, soups, burritos, 1/2 and whole chickens, and more! Tortas ($7)-The tortas are bomb! Large tortas with layers and layers of ingredients. Your choice of meat. I got it with carne asada which was delciious and flavorful. Very generous with the amount of meat in each sandwich. They start with a layer of refried beans, followed by the meat, lettuce, avocado, tomato, jalepenos, and huge block of queso fresco. The tortas are not only beautifully made, they are tasty with every bite. To top it off, the bread is toasted perfectly on the grill. Large tacos loaded with meat for $2. Choose from carne asada, chicken, lengua, and carnitas. They were out of lengua which my coworkers rave about. I will have to try that some other time. I got one carne asada, chicken and carnitas. The meats were bland and did not have much flavor. My tacos came with green salsa which give the tacos a good flavor and kick. The tacos had double tortillas which could have been split into 6 tacos since there was so much meat. I had this for lunch and was stuffed for the rest of the day. I didn't even have dinner that day. Agua Frescas ($2): Many many choices for you to choose from. There are milky and sweeter drinks with sweet condensed milk and other lighter fruit/vegetable drinks. I got the pineapple spinach which was very refreshing and not too sweet.

En la foto se ve como esta de seco, solo una lambidita de leche ariba. Estan mejor en la Superior.

El pastel de tres leches esta malisimo. Pensando que era un local fui a otro y otro y igual salen secos. Pedi leche aparte y no me quieren dar. Perfecto, yo lo compro pero ni asi me quieren vender los manejadores. Esta mejor ir a la Superior.

Dry and hard chicharones, arroz acedo and awful Chile relleno!

First time trying a bundt cake and wanted to see what the hype was about. I signed up for the…read morerewards and received a free birthday bundlet. When signing up, you have to choose a location and the downey location is the closest to me, which is where I can only redeem the reward. When entering, it was empty and 2 young girls were working but I was not welcomed in or greeted. I told them I was here to redeem the reward and they then asked what flavor I wanted. I took a moment to look in their display cabinet to see which flavors they had left (there were only 3 visible flavors inside the cabinet) but then I was told all the flavors were available... I think it would be helpful to atleast have 1 bundlet cake displayed next to each flavor so customers can visually see which one they want not just read the cake flavors. I chose the chocolate- chocolate chip flavor and it was good. The cake itself was fluffy & moist while the frosting has a light creamy balance to the cake. I enjoyed it because it wasn't overly sweet but the chocolate chip was very subtle, a bit nonexistent and more like another chocolate cake imo. The bundlet itself is a great personal cake size for 1 person, and a nice birthday freebie treat! Thanks NBC, I look forward to trying other flavors soon!

You can really taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere was very welcoming, making it a great spot to stop in and treat yourself. On top of that, the pricing was fair for the quality you get. Definitely a 5-star experience--I'll be coming back for more!

Today, she asked me to stop by after my haircut for some Conchitas. I went ahead and came in and decided to try other stuff. First off, the lady at the register is so rude. She seems bothered to have to answer any questions about the bread options, prices and everything. I was so close to just walking out and not making a purchase. But I endured her funky attitude just to get my wife her Conchitas. I got a square slice of what they call "cheesecake". It has a funky crust that takes away from the what little cheesecake flavor it had. I got 2 "panaderos" which are my favorite Mexican sweet bread. It's like a 'cuernito in the shape of a concha with concha topping". I have to say it was one of the worst tasting panaderos I've ever had. Unlike Ponce's bakery in Downey. Or El Gallo in East LA (the best). This one was half raw. Thought it was gooey just cause it was fresh. But once I got the runs. I knew it was the uncooked dough that got me. Mini empanadas are $1 each. Not worth it all. Regular sized Empanadas are about the same price anywhere else. Again the Conchitas were the only OK items. Overall for the quality, price, and horrible attitude and customer service of the employees. NOT JUSTIFIED!!! I won't be back.
