What stood out for me was this team's sensitivity and care. Going to the dentist is really difficult for many people. Furthermore, there's a lot of deeply personal and emotional issues that can be relevant to people's dental histories and on-going dental health - eating disorders/mental illness, drug addiction, poverty, and childhood neglect, to name a few. I really appreciated that as a brand-new patient, Dr. Bonner took the time to meet with me one-on-one in a quiet office to discuss any concerns, rather than expecting me to discuss fears or problems while lying in treatment chair with lots of other staff around. During treatment, Dr. Bonner was very careful not to cause more pain or discomfort than necessary. The staff at this office was unfailingly friendly and professional. I was really impressed with this place - too often healthcare professionals can make patients feel inconvenient, dumb, or small but the compassion and respect I experienced at this office has stuck with me for a while. Definitely recommended, especially to anyone who has a hard time visiting the dentist.

The first time I went, I did see a dentist but he only checked my X-rays and that was it. The next time I went, I only saw the dental hygienist and she cleaned my teeth. The 3rd and final time I went, the same dental hygienist took my new yearly X-rays and cleaned my teeth. She even went to go get the dentist and he never even came because he was supposedly busy, so again I never saw a dentist. They charge you for Oral ID even if your insurance covers it, mine does cover it and they charged me more than my insurance allows them to. All in all, not a great place in my experience. All the times I went there, I never saw a dentist, only ONE time and he didn't even do much, all he did was look at my X-rays for 2 mins and left. The other dentist I use to go to actually cleaned my teeth and everything so i don't know why it's SO DIFFICULT for the dentists at this dental office to even clean your teeth or to even see a dentist, that's just ridiculous to me. And the woman, who's older and white, at the check out area out is slow. I remember she use to be the front desk receptionist and she scared me when she said that my insurance shows that I'm not active in the bcbs system.. this happened during my 2nd visit. I had to call my insurance and they verified that I am and it was all chaos for a few minutes. The customer service rep for bcbs even told me to ask her "what does it exactly say in the system" and when I asked the receptionist she looked confused and said "what system?" and i got mad inside because what do you mean what system??? The system you're looking at right now like hello??? When you have bcbs ppo out of state insurance, they're suppose to put your bcbs out of state insurance info through bcbs of MA and bill it through bcbs of ma and this woman didn't even know because she doesn't know how to do her job. Her job is to be verifying people's insurances before their appt and she didn't even do that before my appt and all of this chaos happened because of her. It was so irritating. That's why on my last visit, I was glad she wasn't the front desk receptionist anymore because she's slow and unorganized & when I saw that she's the check out receptionist I just sighed and she was still slow and unorganized. Also, this place is hell bent on getting your wisdom teeth taken out, they kept bringing it up at every visit when all of my wisdom teeth are fine. This was my experience, yours could be different than mine.

They put ethics over money (not that you don't have to pay, but they work with you, without you losing your dignity, and make it seem their idea). The dentist sees everyone and you can tell standards are high. I've had A LOT of experiences with dentists in the area, and this is the first practice at which I felt everyone was on the same page, everyone knows me, and everyone is both human and therapeutic. I have been "fired" from every dentist in Hamp because I hate going and miss appointments - I've been treated so well I actually show up for everything. In this climate of health care, (and I work in health care) pulling off having a modern, efficient, clinically excellent dental practice while remaining welcoming and engaged is not easy. Thank you all - I do credit Dr. Clayton for likely setting the tone and high expectations, however it's clear that the entire staff - at least the three hygienists, two assistants, office manager, receptionists, all share the same priority and attention to detail. Given my horrible dental history finding them is a blessing.

Because the assault involved a gun placed in my mouth, I developed PTSD, and although I needed help, the thought of anyone's hands in my mouth or metal( drill, etc) would trigger a devastating panic attack. The whole office was welcoming, efficient, and understanding. I wasn't sure whether I would just live with the chip, but Dr. Teddi carefully examined the tooth and after using her imaging machine to show me the problem I agreed to have it repaired. As she went through the process, she explained everything beforehand and answered all my questions about the tooth. The work was painless and quick, and my tooth looks and feels great. I also liked the way everyone was treated in the office. Dr. Teddi was considerate with her assistant, Kevin, and kind with the dental student observing her work (she observed with my permission). My first cleaning was great. The hygienist was gentle and efficient. My consultation with Dr. Boynton was good. He didn't address things that had been told to me about my teeth already (a cavity on a tooth) and his prioritization for my dental procedures was different than previous, but that's okay. What I disagreed with was showing up to my scheduled appointment and being told that my appointment was rescheduled to accommodate someone else without my consent. I could see the schedule for the day and could see other appointments later in the day which could be double booked. This "emergency" patient was sitting, smirking in no apparent distress. I can understand the desire to accommodate patients, but without consent is not a practice I support.
