Does not cater to elderly patients. Been a patient for many years, but now esteem too old for them.

Dr. van der Velden and crew are funny, down-to-Earth and generally awesome -- I can't imagine a better dental experience.

She went through a year of hell because she picked the wrong dentist to fix her smile. She picked one in the area that promoted and promised a gorgeous smile. She assured Mary Ellen wonderful results. She butchered Mary Ellen, left her with a partial while healing that didn't fit. She wanted to rush through the process, and Mary Ellen could see that something was wrong. She was without a face for a year. Having to wear a mask, have trouble eating, and have to live with the mistakes a general dentist made until she healed as she searched for someone she could trust. By the grace of God, she came across Dr. Sirakian. His website was very informative. Explained everything thoroughly. We were met by his assistant Robin, who was so kind and professional. Mary Ellen sat with Dr. Sirakian, and could feel that she was in the right hands. He could see the significant damage the other dentist did. He said no one leaves my office without a smile. He actually fixed the partial so that she could walk out feeling herself until Dr Sirakian could fix her smile permanently. Dr Sirakian is an artist, he has several years of education above and beyond a general dentist. I accompanied Mary Ellen to her appointments and to her actual surgery. Each time we were both impressed by the whole office. Dr. Sirakian is simply the best with his technique and approach. The whole office is professional and really caring. If you need implants I encourage you to see Dr. Sirakian, you won't be disappointed. Teeth are important and the dentist you go to should know how to treat your smile.

If you have anything like problem teeth, beware this office, which expects patients to have at most…read moreone or two small cavities. In terms of culturally responsive practices, this dentist gets a negative score: voice dripping with sarcasm, he told me that my teeth were not something he could help me with given that my jaw is "deformed" (I have an overbite, but it's like that of most people with overbites and not exactly something that you would stop on the street and gawk over) and that my dental decay (from years of bulimia that eroded my enamel) was not something he would handle. (He said he could handle it but chose not to, almost enjoying the sense that he was denying me treatment.). Let me be clear that it's not the information this practitioner conveyed that I want to warn people about: it's the flavor of open disrespect and even shaming he felt comfortable expressing, as though having "good teeth" were a sign of moral integrity. Remarkable that in 2024 in the Pioneer Valley, there are still some medical and dental practitioners who don't consider it among their professional duties to conceal whatever prejudiced beliefs they hold about their patients' health. The ideas about dentistry lodged inside this man's head are the stuff of mid-nineteenth century England: if you were a quality or refined sort of person, you would be born with a well-aligned jaw, and if you have bad teeth, it must be that you are an essentially gross, lazy, degraded person. I had the bad luck to choose this practice at random, and now I've lost that insurance-covered visit. Shame on this practitioner, and if you have any kind of non-normative identity or dental situation, beware of this practice. Edited to add: This practitioner recommended that every single tooth be removed from my mouth. The oral surgeon refused to do this as it was too radical a treatment plan and sent me to a new dentist for a new consult because more than half of my teeth can obviously be salvaged by an unbiased practitioner willing to do the work of real dentistry. Boutique dentists should advertise themselves as boutique dentists so that real people with real human dental situations don't make the mistake of seeking treatment from them.

I myself have been seen by them for over 50 years and I'm happy to say I have all my natural teeth, not a single denture! The cleanings given by his assistants are thorough yet gentle. Xrays are taken regularly. When I had my braces as a teen, coordination with the orthodontist was excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Liftig to anyone looking for a kind and knowledgeable practitioner. He listens to my concerns and cares a lot about not just my teeth and gums, but my overall health as well. Personally, I would not see any other dentist, not because I am set in my ways, but because he has proven himself time and again to be the very best at what he does.

I don't have dental fears myself, but I would recommend him to anyone who does. The filling required a delicate touch, and he showed great attention to detail in his work. I felt in good hands. The staff is very welcoming. It is a small practice that clearly garners longtime patients. I'm quite surprised to be the first Yelp review. I was paying out of pocket, and he made clear in the new patient information that a schedule could be found if the cost exceeded what I could muster that day. I'll be coming back and recommending him to others.

They are very communicative, responding quickly to emails and questions and are helpful with insurance issues. The hygienists are friendly and thorough. Dr. Bae does my exams and recommended a crown replacement based on what she saw on the X-rays. She was not pushy and patiently explained to me exactly what she was seeing on the X-ray. I decided to move ahead, and they pre-authorized with my insurance and gave me a pre-pay discount, so I knew exactly what I was going to need to pay. She was very patient and gentle throughout the procedure. So far so good with the new crown! I'm in my 50s and have no problems with my wisdom teeth other than a small cavity in the upper one. I went for a consult at Natich Family Dental and met Dr. Bhalla, their oral surgeon who recommended I have them all pulled. The experience was absolutely horrific. My expectation was either full sedation or at least gas. When I expressed that, I was told "well, this is how we do it." I was led to believe it would be "fine." It was NOT fine! Never should you do a procedure like that on an adult fully awake. I think I left in shock. Covered in sweat, shaking and white as a sheet. I will forever tell everyone I know not to have their wisdom teeth pulled as an adult and if they do, to go full sedation. I also called and sent pictures about a concern I had and Dr. Bhalla couldn't be bothered to call me back. I'm also mad at both my dentist and the surgeon for encouraging me to have them out at all. The top one had a cavity - that's what started it all. I ended up removing 3 perfectly healthy teeth and one that had a small cavity and really just needed a filling. If given all the info and if I could go back in time, I would NEVER have agreed to this course of action. It feels barbaric and like the whole thing was just to get money rather than taking care of patients.
