However, today when my tooth broke in half, I was forced to find a professional. The young woman I spoke with on the phone was professional, kind, and asked if I could come in today. A miracle! The hygienist took a set of X-rays. No pain, really fast. Then Dr. Minster came in with her easy going personality, took another X-ray of the tooth. She was very careful not to hurt my gum and made me feel better about the future of my oral health. She filled in the broken half, then carefully and gently smoothed it out. She's professional, and has a lovely manner. She let me know what she was going to do before doing it. Not surprisingly, a root canal was necessary. The root canal was virtually painless, thanks to Dr. Minster's expertise. She then had a beautiful crown fashioned and fit. In additional, I had a cavity that made me extremely self conscious. It was on the outside of my tooth. Dr. Minster filled that cavity; I'm elated with my new smile! I smile more often. I have Dr. Minster to thank for this. I still have a few more procedures. I have a newfound obsession, err. . . interest with dental hygiene. If you're afraid of the dentist or embarrassed because you haven't brushed and flossed after every meal, please don't be. Dr Minster is nonjudgmental. Hands down, the best dentist I've ever seen; most certainly the best in the area, and a star in her field.

We moved from out of state and due to unforeseen circumstances, I hadn't been to a dentist in 2 years. I chipped a tooth and needed to find one fast. I picked Riverside because I liked the name. When I was young I lived where there were no amusement parks. I came down to visit my sister in CT. She took me to Riverside Park which is now Six Flags New England. Yaz, the receptionist, was so nice and went out her way to get my insurance verified. They had her jumping through hoops. They'd ask her for one thing, and she'd give it to them, and then they'd ask for something else instead of asking her for everything at the same time. I had an appointment in 45 minutes, not only for my chipped tooth, but I had my teeth cleaned by a lovely Russian woman whose name I've forgotten. I'm so sorry. My tooth will be finished with soon and my teeth are so clean. Dr. Eshak is wonderful. He explains things so well. He doesn't talk to you in medical jargon, but he doesn't talk down to you, either. I went in to have a tooth extracted, number 30 (second to last molar on the bottom right). I have had this procedure on 3 other adult teeth and 2 children's teeth before so this wasn't new for me. I have always had novocaine and the gas mask so that is what I did this time. The procedure started and Mr. torchure, oops I'm sorry, Torchia began to say how big my roots were. Probably something you shouldn't say to a patient no matter how brave they look. I began to feel nervous, because of his comments and moaned quietly twice, just as a reaction. I couldn't feel anything but he was scaring the living daylights out of me. He stopped what he was doing, told the nurses to put me on 100% oxygen, and explain to me why he's leaving and to have me reschedule. RESCHEDULE? I am bleeding, already had paid $155 for this tooth to be pulled, you already started sir and now you want me to reschedule? Why? What did I do wrong? He left the room and the nurse told me that the "doctor" doesn't like moaning and wants me to be put to sleep. At this point I am sobbing because I was so mad. She asked if I wanted to try again and obviously I did because my tooth was half way extracted. He came back in and his voice radiates though my body, I still shake remembering this. He told me that I should reschedule and be put to sleep. Realizing I don't want this terrifying man anywhere near me I looked him in the eyes, and told him I want a different doctor because I am not interested in being put to sleep. I stood up and walked out to the waiting room to tell my husband what had happened. I demanded a refund and at this point I began to feel excruciating pain because my tooth was loose, bleeding and my jaw was sore. What the hell kind of a doctor, walks out on their patient after already beginning a surgery and then tells them to reschedule? The girls in the office quickly gave us our money back and referred us to their sister office in Chicopee so my procedure could be finished. I had no choice but to go through all of that again, another round of novocaine, more gas all with that terrifying experience still fresh in my head. The office in Chicopee was great, Brett was my Doctor and he was very patient with me. Unfortunately because I was so stressed out and in so much pain from the jerk before, I had to be put to sleep for this one. This also unfortunately doubled our bill from 155 to almost 400 dollars. Not what I had planned on. In the days and nights since, I have had to be heavily medicated because I have Nerve damage from so many needles going in my mouth. I have had to miss work, and have had a trip to the ER to confirm the nerve damage. I have a lawyer ready, and soon Mr. Torchia will be served with legal papers because I do not want anyone else, not even my worst enemy, to ever go through what I have went through. The nightmares of his voice, the constant pain from nerve damage, and the money I have had to spend on pain medicine and hospital visits. I will be posting the facts everywhere and anywhere I can, hopefully I can save at least one person from this terrible man's uncalled for behavior.

My kids have NEVER left crying.. and NO they DO NOT strap children down. I have been back there plenty of times when they were smaller.... I even have pictures. Yes, they prefer to have the kids by themselves because most of the time the kids are calmer if the parents aren't there, but if you tell them you want to be there, then there's no issue. My kids don't want or need me in there. The staff is fantastic, friendly with the kids. I have also never had any billing problems - I have never gotten a surprise bill in the mail - my kids have their cleanings and if there is work that has to happen - I leave WITH A PLAN and an ESTIMATE for my portion, that they require I sign. They have ALWAYS checked with my insurance first. AND I had 2 insurances for a bit and they were fighting each other over the cleanings and the dentist KNEW it wasn't ME, and NEVER EVER did they pressure me to pay, they waited until the insurances squared up with each other. I have a very real fear of dentists due to a HORRIBLE childhood dentist, so I was adamant my children not have the same experience, I want them to have great teeth and a positive relationship with their dentist and I couldn't be happier with The Kids Dentist.... my kids haven't had to have any extra work in a couple years.
