My husband had a terrible experience at this dental office. This is his review:…read more I have never reviewed a place--- regardless of how bad an experience was, but this terrible experience warranted one. I have been going to this office for quite some time now. Until today. This review is my way to warn any person from using this place for their night guard services. I hope to save you time and money. Teeth grinding at night, comes with many issues already. And for a "dental office" to play these kinds of tricks is awful. To start off, I had a night guard that I used for many years (from another dentist). Key words many years... I needed a new one, so I went to the office and they took the measurements. I picked up this guard 2 months ago. It was fine for the first month, then it started getting slightly cloudy. I let this go (as I thought it was normal). Last week, I woke up and noticed that my grinding had broken a piece of the plastic on the guard. I called the office and made an appointment. Since the whole point in these is to help from grinding teeth, you would think that the plastic can withstand that. Once I got to the office I was told that this is not material they use, and that I may have brought my "old one." First off, they tried to make me feel dumb, as if I would mistakenly bring an old one, or one from "another place". I showed them a picture of the one from them, the day I picked it up.... Which was a pricey guard as is. They blamed it on the discoloration, and stated that it was not theirs. I can assure you, that it was the one I picked up from them. I have no time to run around trying to get night guards from dentists. Without even looking at the guard and immediately stating it didn't match the picture I had, they weren't hesitant to attempt to make me feel as if I did something wrong. I have shown another dentist a picture of the two, and they agreed that it was clearly the same bite marks on both. I even took a picture of the material they use and will call the manufacture to have them compare it for even further proof. The point in my review here is to save you all the hassle and money of being ripped off by this place. They attempted to offer me half off a new one, but I refused. I am happy to pay double the price at this other dentist, because I can sleep with a piece of mind knowing I have a quality night guard. All please be aware...

Or, I was told I would have to apply for Care Credit or pay the over time. Ok fine. I was prepared to pay the amount quoted. The morning of my appointment, I received a call from their office staff that I owed another $500.00. Now, knowing their office had my insurance information for some time, I was a little shocked and now requested something showing where this extra money now owed came from. I was informed they could not provide anything in writing that they were verbally told by the insurance company of this amount. I was beyond perplexed and needed a little more explanation, just wasn't going to pay them another $500.00 with no written explanation, to which I was placed on an abrupt hold and a "lovely" person, Scott, who apparently is the "office manager" picked up the line and made it clear he was beyond irritated and NOT happy that he had to speak to me about this, me being his potential patient. He went on to be the absolute rudest individual I've dealt with in a professional setting in a very long time. He was unprofessional, RUDE, argumentative, talked over me, and made it clear he hates his job and also made it very known I was a complete nuisance and annoyance to him, again, a potential patient and him, the office manager who should be more well versed in customer service. Being taken aback by his lack of professionalism with the way he was speaking to me, I had no other choice but to cancel my appointment because why on earth would I want to every think about going to their office for dental work if this is the way he treats his patients. And I will make it my now important task to make people aware of this office's behavior to their potential patients. They need in depth and long-term customer service training and how NOT to treat their potential patients.

On the day before the procedure, someone from the office called to confirm the appointment. After the procedure was done, my cost share changed without anyone telling me in advance. The person that called a day prior should have informed me of the exact cost share, especially since it changed from my original estimate. The fact they didn't isn't good business at all. That's not a good way to treat a patient. On top of all that, when I told the person what I was told initially, she coldly said "it was only an estimate and if the insurance pays more, you'll get a refund... If the insurance company pays less, you'll get a bill". NOT a good experience at all with the front desk/billing people. On the other hand, Dr. Andrea Fiori did awesome work and is the best. My advice, train/retrain the front desk and billing people on how to treat customers.

My dental insurance sent me a notice that roughly 70% of the charge was paid by them, I reached out again many times to Jacobs location to know when I'd be reimbursed, never receiving the money owed. I finally had to go into their office and confront the receptionist who then went and told Jacob. He 3 times looked around the corner at me while I waited for nearly an hour. Finally he paid me a personal check for the balance paid to his company for the work by my insurance company. Blatantly planned to not file this with my insurance and keep the money under the table to avoid paying taxes. He then planned/hoped to double dip and not pay me the money owed back to me after the insurance paid was was owed. Guy is a crook and tries to take advantage of people. I went into his examination room told him that I was there for a root canal and who it was that had recommended him. It was done quickly and painlessly. A couple of weeks later I was in Texas when I started experiencing some pain in my lower jaw, I went to a local dentist in Frisco Texas, where I was advised by the dentist that examined me that I needed another root canal in the tooth right next to the one that had been treated earlier by Mr. Saidon. She also asked me if I knew that the earlier root canal had been filled with a temporary filling and not a permanent filling as is standard in such a procedure, I told her that I had not known that. She told me, that after she did the root canal on the new tooth, she would replace the temp filling with a permanent filling at no charge. Not only did Mr. Saidon do sub-standard work, I also believe he double charged me for his services. I did report what I felt was negligence by Mr. Saidon to the State Dental Board, and after nearly four months I was advised in writing that they had found nothing wrong. Frankly, it was a joke. It's difficult enough to find a good dentist in this area who will actually do dental work without handing you off to other dentists, and who won't rip you off when they find out you have insurance. I've actually started going out of state when I need dental work.

Dr. Whidden spoke very highly of Dr. Desrosiers, stating that he was a dentist who decided to focus on what he loved, root canal procedures. Because he so thoroughly enjoys what he does, it made the entire process much more comfortable (and less intimidating) than I was expecting. My appointment was for 10:15 am, everything was completed by 11:30 am. My husband has had a root canal before, and I remember he was gone the better part of a morning. I know what you're thinking, speed does not usually equal quality. In this case, it did. He's such a professional and practiced hand, the actual root removal was roughly 5-10 mins. The rest of the appointment was pre-examinations, post work filling in the root canal and then post examinations. Dr. Desrosiers was very concerned with my comfort, whenever I started to feel anything I let him know and he immediately took care of it. According to Dr. Whidden, I am a fast metaboliser of anesthesia. I told Dr. Desrosiers this, and he took it very seriously. He gave me a long acting (usually lasts 6-8 hour) local anesthetic and then some shorter acting anesthetic at the tooth to be worked on. A couple times during the work itself I started to feel pressure in my jaw and Dr. Desrosiers did not hesitate in giving me more short acting anesthetic. It was fantastic to have this completed and to have felt no pain other than the very first shot. Less than 4 hours later all the drugs had worn off and my tooth feels absolutely fine. No residual pain, even a day afterwards. I highly recommend Dr. Desrosiers if you need an endodonist. He is personable, professional and efficient. I also recieved a follow up phone call the day after just to see how I was doing. It was a very nice and thoughtful touch. P.S. He also sings and hums while working on you. I found it to be endearing and helped me to relax and trust him to do what he does best.

Goldstein and Waterman who are no longer affiliated with the practice. But, at my last visit, I was disappointed by the lack of standard of dental care I received. First, the hygienist, Laurie, who wasn't the one I had made an appointment with, kept me waiting 15 minutes. After she cleaned my teeth, she didn't polish or floss them; nor did she ask me if I wanted a fluoride treatment, which I usually get. Then, a dentist, Dr. Zhang, unfamiliar to me, briefly looked at my teeth and told me I needed "overlays" on a few of my bottom teeth which have been slightly chipped for years. Dr. Zhang did not visually and physically check my face, neck, lips, tongue and throat for any abnormal lumps, red or white patches, or sores. She did not ask me to bite down to evaluate tooth alignment and check for temporomandibular joint disorder or teeth grinding or check the depth of spaces between my teeth and gums to screen for gingivitis or periodontitis. When I asked about my regular dentist, Dr. Wateman, Dr. Zhang told me he no longer worked there. Due to the lack of standard of dental care provided by Newington Family Dental Practice and recent turnover rate of personnel, I would not recommend this practice.
