He is a highly skilled professional, very knowledgeable on the latest surgical procedures, and always takes time to answer questions, find solutions, and go above and beyond to ensure his patients get the best care. I recently had cataract surgery and had lots of questions prior to surgery about the procedure, expected results, and the potential for any problems. Dr. Rodman took a lot of time to answer my questions and ensure I was comfortable with the answers. I have always received excellent care from him and he's always found solutions for me. I have to say that for me cataract surgery was life changing. After cataract surgery, I am in awe of the improvement in my vision. I no longer need glasses except for "cheaters" for reading. I am very happy with the results and thankful to Dr. Rodman and the Microsurgical staff for their attentiveness and care given to me as a patient. All of the Microsurgical Eye staff is very professional, always greets patients, answer questions and gives their full attention to patients. But when I told him that in my eye exams, I could not differentiate between the different lenses, he was unresponsive. I didn't make an issue of it because the thing with the lenses had never happened to me before and if the doctor wasn't concerned, I figured it must be no issue. Then this past summer, when I started having major issues with my vision, he got very impatient with me and snapped at me that I wasn't giving him the information he needed. And I said, "I'm giving you the information I have. But as I've told you, I can't tell the difference between the exam/test lenses." He then changed my computer glasses prescription. After 2 weeks of wearing those glasses, I had to return them--they're the only pair of glasses I've ever gotten that my eyes never adjusted to, that gave me massive headaches. I found another doctor and found out that the reason I can't differentiate between the test lenses is because I have cataracts that need surgery, something that should have been evident to any eye doctor who knows what they're doing. I was also told that this summer, the situation was exacerbated due to all the smoke from Canada's wildfires, which exacerbated my dry eye disease, which I didn't even know I had, which Dr. Rodman totally missed, and which also causes difficulty differentiating between test lenses. Whatever you do, don't go to Dr. Rodman, especially if you're an older petite woman. He won't respect you, won't listen to you, and won't help you. At least that's the experience I had.

I checked in with the front desk staff (some polite- some snappy) at approximately 2:40pm for a 3:10pm new patient appointment. I did not leave the building until approximately 4:45pm... Even though I made my appointment approximately 2-3 weeks prior with Dr. Stoler, I was being basically completely examined by some sort of medical assistant (she was pleasant but didn't even state her title to me- I had no clue what her credentials were in order to pour thick yellow liquid in my eyes). When Dr. Stoler finally did come into the room, he shined some lights in my eyes and said nothing was wrong. I then asked for a prescription for eyeglasses he said "No, not at this appointment because you were an emergency add on...Oh wait... Let me check before I speak to fast (he looked over some notes).... Ok, I can give you a prescription".... I almost LOST it!!! NOT ONLY did I wait in that office for 2 hours to literally see this dude for 7-10 minutes, he then wants to deny me a prescription for eyeglasses because he thinks I'm an emergency add on.. And of course this is due to him examining me so late in the day- BECAUSE I WAS FORGOT ABOUT!!!!! WOW- Do not go here!!! I got a few smiles from the staff here and there- But overall they are unfriendly, don't know what they are doing and the wait time is to long for doctors of... well .....Dr. Stoler's caliber.... As I noted to Shannon, and to Dr. Miller - the folks who worked with me - their services were faster, more complete, and provided me with much more information than my previous optician. Also, the eyeglasses I purchased were half the price of my previous glasses - $326 from Peabody Eye Assoc., as opposed to over $600 from the previous optician. The best? My new glasses work perfectly, especially the bifocals! In fact, the bifocals work better than my $600 glasses bifocals. In other words, I was a stupid lady. I wasted money and time (old glasses took 2 weeks to complete, new glasses took about an hour). The customer service was superb. Everyone - including the young ladies behind the admin desk, were attentive and responsive. I have no idea why Janice C. had such a problem - and by the way, HIPPA regs do not apply to the walk-in optician in a mall. In any event, no one texted through my check-in, each admin did her job, and when one of the girl's computer went down, they all helped her get through her work. So - half the price, a tenth of the time, and 10X the customer service.
