I used to work at nsd for many years just like another reviewer on this website Emeline Walker, who was with the company for less than a year. Despite our common status as former employees of this establishment their are staggering differences between myself and Ms. Walker. For one I am not a disgruntled ex-employee who feels the need to maliciously insult my former place of work. Secondly, I understand basic biology unlike Ms. Walker. Puppy warts is definitely an unfortunate health issue, but one that is extremely hard to prevent when 90 dogs are on the grounds. These are the risks that unfortunately come with the territory of leaving a dog at daycare. If we had superpowers to automatically tell where a wart was in any puppies mouth I would gladly take that power and join the avengers as wart-man. Alas, that is not possible and Ms. Walker has unrealistic expectations on how certain things should be handled by management. Finally, the main difference between myself and her is that I left willingly to move on in my career, while Emeline Walker quit because she could no longer handle the job due to an inability to deal with co-workers and a fear of bigger dogs. Compared to the many daycares around the north shore area, NSD is definitely your best bet in terms of safety. Please don't listen to some disgruntled ex-employee who clearly doesn't know how to let things go. Unfortunately some people can't just take their ball and go home, they have to go tell the world how mad they are in hopes that someone will hear them. I heard you Eme, I just wish I didn't. We have been taking our three Yorkshire Terriers to North Shore Dog for grooming for a few years now. One of the most important things to us is that they are not left alone or unattended. They have never been crated and are used to being handled gently and lovingly. We were thrilled when we met Kristin who takes the time, patience and precision to groom and watch over our "babies" while in her care. She accepts them together as siblings and provides an estimated time of completion that is always accurate. We are all greeted in a friendly manner and the dogs look forward to their time with her (their "spa" day). She asks us specifically what we want for services, cut and style and always delivers. She makes sure we are happy with how they look before we leave and if we notice something after the fact that needs to be adjusted, she graciously accommodates without any extra charge. Kristin enjoys her craft and expresses her love and commitment of all animals. We have become good friends and she is part of our family circle. Now that we have her, we can't imagine leaving our pups with anyone else. We will continue coming to NSD as long as Kristen is there. read more

I meant to write this a while back. I used to bring my dog here and while some of the people who would check us in were very friendly and the place seemed clean there really was no one looking after the dogs. My dog (who is very socialized) would come home with scratches on multiple occasions and the staff didn't seem to have any real answers - not even that she got scratched in some rough play. I was going to pull her from the daycare regardless but ended up moving to Melrose and had to find something closer anyway. After I had a discussion with a friend from Peabody about this place I found others have had similar experiences. My dog is like my baby and it makes me very nervous leaving her with strangers and scenarios like this always break my heart. Also it is very disconcerting to me how in other negative reviews on this page the owner has been rather rude to other yelpers. I have heard great things about other establishments in Danvers, not really worth going. I would give 1 star but the girls who checked me in were always typically very nice. read more

I was not refused service. That's a lie. I told then I'd refuse to bring my dog there and demanded a refund. It was the REFUND the owner originally denied. And as I said I understand dogs play rough and that happens but happened so many times and nothing was explained to me until I continuously pointed out his horrible wounds - by the way the scars are permanent. I asked they watch him more closely and pull the dogs away even if Morty was the one being a pain, clearly watching dogs and following instructions was too difficult for them. Family and friends continue to urge me to contact animal services. Morty is very happy in his new daycare. If my review keeps ONE person from visiting this establishment and having their animal hurt I'm thrilled. I'd pay thousands to keep my dog away from this filth and safe. read more

North Shore Dog is the best place for day care, boarding and grooming. I can't say enough about Tom and the team there; they love all the dogs and it shows. My dogs can't wait to get into their room for the day...if no one is in the reception area after we greet Tom or staff, i just drop the leashes and they run up the stairs without a look back! North Shore Dog is their "home away from home". What a gift for me and my pups!! Over the past year i've gotten to know Tom and many of the NS Dog staff members. i am so impressed with the whole team. My babies love each and every staff member. They have all been patient and loving with my girl dog who can be shy and suspicious. She loves everyone there to the person. I wouldn't consider bringing my dogs elsewhere. I recommend NS Dog without reservation. The owner and staff are all professional and love dogs. The facility is immaculate and the owner takes pride in his business. Dogs are given a behavior assessment on the first day to be sure they are OK with the pack. Our dog has been going there twice a week for 1.5 years. Being a rescue dog, he has some behavior issues which need working through. When he is with the pack, he barks annoyingly when he doesn't get ALL the attention. The staff have showed extreme patience with this issue. The grooming service is a great convenience and my dog looks great when he comes home- tired but handsome! read more

Thought this place was good enough until my girlfriend told me what she saw on the webcam. I work in a dentist office and never have time to check out the cams and she told me she saw a dog getting attacked and it took TWO minutes for someone to intervene, thats a long time for a small dog, thank god it wasn't my dog. Staff is decent --- at best, the place overall is pretty low end. I would try spoiled rotten in danvers or somewhere else. I moved out of peabody recently so now my dog goes to a daycare here in Canton and it's a worlds difference from this place. Do yourself a favor and bring your dog somewhere else. read more

This business advertises pick up and drop off shuttle services for their customers. The owner personally drives the shuttle van where people trust their dogs are going to and from safely. She was recently observed leaving several dogs unattended in the van on a 90 degree day (7/27/21) while she shopped in CVS. Stay as far away from this place as possible. Careless, unprofessional staff who does not take the proper safeguards to protect your animal. read more

I made my son make me a yelp account solely I could review this place. My dog was TERRIFIED after being here earlier this year. He is still traumatized from the horrible treatment from the staff and the other dogs at this so called "business." Where do I begin? First, the initial evaluation of my dog was free, other places charge you. The first day of daycare was free, other places charge you. I left my dog Lucky here for her first day and I must say, I am very impressed with these folks. Viewing Lucky throughout the day on the webcam on my phone proved that she had a blast. I left my two girls for 19 days. One is a diabetic that needed 4 different medications twice a day. Noah and his staff took such wonderful care of my dogs, I don't think they wanted to leave!! They did everything for my spoiled girls that I do for them at home! Then the best thing was I could check on them, while I was in Greece, on the Webcam. Decided to try North Shore Dog and have been bringing my dog here for about a year or so. Great place! My dog nearly drags me into the building and loves coming here. My one and a half year old golden retriever has been attending for over a year (daycare and boarding) and she absolutely loves it! I frequently watch her on the webcam and her tail is wagging as she runs around with her friends. This makes for an exhausted dog for the next day or two! We use NSD once a week for our very energic dog ad have had nothing but great experiences! The staff is very pleasant and personable, is receptive to owners calling during the day to check on their pets, and really gets to know the dogs and their personalities. Would def recommend. read more
