We reached out the Atlantic at a complete loss of how to help our sweet Ollie boy succeed. They were nothing but kind, communicative and supportive during our initial conversations, and put us completely at ease about sending our boy to the two-week bootcamp, a choice that was incredibly hard for us! Ollie is a five year old Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix who went to training pre-pandemic and has always been incredibly shy with strangers. Before 2020, this manifested as leash reactivity and we were working hard at it when social distancing went into place. Post-pandemic, we tried every method we could find to try and help him with this, but despite all efforts, his reactivity increased tenfold to include dogs and small children. Sometimes he would he completely fine, and other times, he would aggressively bark and lunge at dogs and kids. It was so stressful that we started keeping him away from other dogs, and our small nieces and nephews to be safe. Ollie's alert barking additionally reached an all time high in the summer of 2023, and his counter-surfing was out of control. We decided it was officially time to get professional help. My husband and I want to start a family soon, and were terrified to think that Ollie's unpredictability could jeopardize his relationship with our future kids. His alert barking was creating a near-constant level of stress in our home, and we couldn't imagine how Ollie would be able to function happily or be involved as our family continues to grow. Throughout the two weeks of bootcamp, we got daily communication about Ollie's progress from the team and pictures of him playing happily during break times. Most importantly, however, K-9 Atlantic has completely transformed our boy, and given us the utmost confidence that Ollie will be the BEST big brother someday. He is literally like a different dog in all of the best ways. He's still our sweet, snuggly, silly boy, but without all of the incessant barking and sneakiness! His reactivity is now basically nonexistent, and he happily plays with our little nieces and nephews when they come over! He is a rockstar on and off-leash. We've even slowly integrated meeting new dogs in controlled settings, and he has been so very successful. He hasn't even counter surfed (despite us purposely leaving chicken on the counter in his reach in order to practice!!!!). Ollie's newfound confidence shines in his ability to meet new people and have experiences without all of the anxiety that he displayed prior to his time at K-9 Atlantic. He is the best version of himself, and we are so beyond proud of the good boy his has become!!! I don't know what magic the K-9 Atlantic team did with him while he was training, but we cannot believe that he is the same dog. He has been SO good, and an absolute angel while practicing. We are beyond grateful for everyone at Atlantic for truly transforming our boy and our lives. We can never thank you enough!

I originally reached out to Atlantic K9 Training because my one-year-old Cane Corso/Pittie mix,…read moreBrinley, was getting a little too strong for me to handle. She's incredibly sweet and submissive with other dogs, but she loved to jump on people and had a habit of pulling hard on the leash during walks. At 60 pounds, it was definitely a lot to manage! From the start, Kylie and the Atlantic K9 team were amazing--professional, knowledgeable, and so caring. Brinley attended their two-week bootcamp, and I'll admit, it was hard sending her away for that long with no visits. I was worried she might feel abandoned, but Atlantic K9 made the experience so much easier. They uploaded pictures every day of her playing with other dogs, looking happy and confident, with a smile bigger than I've ever seen on her. It was clear she was having the time of her life--more like a fun vacation than "training camp." When Brinley came home, the transformation was incredible. She has great recall, walks beautifully on leash, and I can now even let her walk off-leash with full confidence. She's learned to stay in her "place," respond to "no" consistently, and--best of all--she no longer jumps on people! I'm so grateful to Kylie and the entire Atlantic K9 team for their compassion, communication, and the amazing results they delivered. Brinley is happier, calmer, and more connected to me than ever. I can't recommend Atlantic K9 Training enough!

First off, let me say that this is the first kennel I've used for my dog and we've been customers…read morefor a year. Since we moved to the area last year, we lost our pet sitters and this was recommended by my vet, along with some others. After a day of my dog interacting with The Dog Nanny's employees and dogs, we got the OK that she would be fine to stay for doggie day care of when we were on vacation. It is a bit expensive ($500 for a 9 day stay), however, she can sleep anywhere she wants in the house that isn't off limits like the kitchen. If they are crate trained, they can sleep in them, too, but you can not bring your own bed. They have a schedule they adhere to and quite strictly I may add. As of today, you can drop off b/t 7am-10am and pick up from 3pm-5pm. You drop them off in the back where they go into a waiting area, then the collar and leash come off and they are led into a 2nd waiting area so the dogs already in there can sniff, bark and get used to her. After a few minutes, then she is let into the main play area. They have 3 main play areas...a puppy/small dog, a medium sized dog and large (like St. Bernard/Great Dane etc) area. Yes it is a bit crowded, however, most of the dogs seem to get along very well. Only once did I see a dog fight and the trainers immediately separated the dogs. I was told they use a few lines of defense when this happens...verbal commands, spray with a hose, then they bring out the citronella spray that the dogs don't like the smell of and as a last resort a fire hose-like hose that will physically move them away from each other. The longest we've had my dog there is 9 days and I was told after 8 she was getting cranky so they'd put her in the screened porch if she was acting up. My dog is 4 years old and likes to take a few naps during the day, however, here you nap from 1-3 and then eat at 5pm and are in by 7 or 8pm, and up again around 5am...so that isn't a lot of sleeping time for a dog. I do see dogs in the office and living room when I go to pick up and they are either older and sleeping or they were cranky and tired and were brought in for a nap or break. Food wise, I've NEVER had any food returned to me. Yes, my dog looked a bit thinner when I got her after 9 days but it was on purpose. I gave her just a tad bit less than what I do at home (which is a bit too much) and she was the perfect weight when I got her...with all the action and running, and eating the same or less they will lose a bit of weight! I did sneak a treat or two into her individual food bags, though :-) Everyone has been super friendly, informative, sympathetic and understanding. It's like dropping off your child at preschool for the first time when you drop off your dog at a new place. I recommend this place to friends and even take my dog there for doggy day care 2-3 times a month so she can remain accustomed to the people and house.

Harley would bark and lunge at everything. Nelson and Lauren took the time to build a foundation and teach Harley how to behave around triggers. They gave me the tools that actually work and the transformation is UNREAL. What sets them apart is that they focus heavily on owner education. Harley was enrolled in a five week board and train and they really took the time to make sure I was trained on how to manage his behavior. I just met with them today to review skills and it was incredibly helpful. They explain the "why" behind the behavior and helped ME build confidence as Harley and I navigate life. If you're feeling overwhelmed by a reactive dog, call them--it is the best investment. Thank you so much I am forever grateful.

We've been through quite a few different training programs where we kept leaving feeling helpless and wondering what we were doing wrong and what to do next, but today we are feeling energized and more confident than ever with our reactive and nervous pup. Watching our pup grow more confident is amazing. We're so excited to keep working the program and cannot put into words how thankful we are for everyone here!

I was suddenly having a lot of problems with him including extreme leash aggression when he saw other dogs, being too dominant at the dog park/doggy daycamp, and just all around inappropriate behavior with other dogs. We did the k-9 camp for about 5 months 1-2 days a week and I am happy to say he has graduated to regular daycare! I never would have thought that was possible after a year of problems with him! Its so nice to see him behave with others and not worry. We did some obedience classes as well and Rondo has never walked better on the leash as he does now! Seriously they are dog whisperers! He can even get his nails cut there!!! When Dani told me she cut them I was in shock considering it had been almost 3yrs of struggling to get them done even at the vet! He is definitely not perfect and still has some issues with me walking on the leash when we see other dogs but the obstacles we have overcome are insane and we know he will continue to improve with their help! Thank you so much for everything! I will definitely be a lifetime customer with Rondo and all my future dogs!
