My dog loves hanging outside in the giant tire!

I've been bringing my dog to Riverdog since I adopted her 3 years ago; first at their Union Square location in Somerville, and now in Peabody after I moved. I am a huge animal and dog person, but I feel like the staff have me beat. They are always so kind and upbeat, clearly love the dogs, and do such a great job. It's evident they really get to know the dogs and are knowledgable in training and dog behavior. To boot, very fair pricing, and they offer a shuttle service, which makes my life a lot easier. I pay a little extra for the added service just to keep going to them because I trust them, my dog seems to really like them, and I love how big the facility is - and with indoor and fenced in outdoor space, obstacles, couches for the dogs. I've never had an issue, and given how excited my dog is to see the employees who pick her up, and how sleepy she is when she gets home, I think she approves too. Highly recommend!

5 days at Riverdog, so many steps!

We have used river dog for our German Shepherd on four occasions. I'm happy to report that each and every time she comes back happy healthy and tired. I'm writing this review mostly so I can post these two photos. One shows a normal week with us where she gets about 7000 steps a day, and the second shows a week of her steps at RiverDog where she gets about 15,000 steps per day. They clearly take great care of her and I can tell by her step count how much fun she has playing there. They always answer the phone and correspond quickly via email.

Amazing experience, brought my dog in for the evaluation. The process they have in place really seems to set your pup up for success.

The site manager obviously doesn't communicate efficiently with his team . There is no honest communication between the staff and customers

Need your cat boarded? Look no further!…read more My husband and I unexpectedly adopted a kitten in Spring 2020. We had a beach getaway planned for early summer (booked a year in advance) and had no idea what to do with our (then 13 week old) kitten. I searched online and immediately found all of the glowing reviews for Cat's Pajamas - I'm so glad! I spoke with Patty on the phone and she eased all of my worries about leaving our baby Leo with her. We boarded Leo for the week we were away and he was the happiest boy when we picked him back up! He is a very needy kitten (needs lots of attention and cries if he doesn't get it), so I was worried about leaving him - but no need to worry with Patty! Patty made sure to have him out for playtime regularly and sent us lots of pictures to keep us updated. Leo absolutely loved her! Plus, Patty even allowed us to bring our non-clumping litter for her to use during the week, since Leo was still too young for regular clumping (if you've ever used it, you know non-clumping litter can be a pain, but Patty didn't even bat an eye at the inconvenience of it!). We left Leo with her again at the end of the summer for a last minute weekend trip and received the same 5-star treatment! We love Patty and can't recommend The Cat's Pajamas Inn highly enough!

Patty, the owner seemed lovely. I wasn't thrilled about the size of the crates 6x4, but figured we could do a trial run for 1 night before his actual stay. We agreed on a day and time for me to bring my cat and the day before she asked if I could come at 9:00am instead of 9:30am because she was heading out for 2 hours at 9:15!! WHAT?? She thought nothing of having me bring my cat who had never been there before, shove him in a crate and the leave right after he gets there for 2 hours? The whole point of me bringing him was for her to meet him, see how he does. When I asked if it might be better to bring him later that day when she would be around, she said no I'm having company!! Again WHAT?? How much attention and time was she planning on spending with my cat who would probably have been frightened as can be. I would NEVER bring my cat there and I'm so happy that I learned what she's truly all about beforehand. Looks can be deceiving!!

To "North Shore Dog", Thank you so much to the owner and staff that works there. I work with a dog…read morerescue as a foster parent and was in need of boarding for one of my foster dogs. We went with North Shore Dog, because I didn't want our foster to be placed in a kennel all day like other boarding places do, with little to no interaction. The staff here took great care of him as he had so much fun playing and interacting with other dogs and staff members, this I know from what I seen on the live web cames offered. He was able to spend all day with other dogs, learning how to play, interact, and follow a routine schedule offered at this facility. This structure is very good especially for a foster dog who is learning to trust, and become more confident to be adopted. Thank you once again, and you can see how happy you made this sweet guy.

She is a boxer breed, and I have found that the staff is vastly uneducated on Bully breeds. They keep trying to change her natural instinct due to there lack of education. It was frustrating to pick her up and here that the stuff was being hard on my dog when the way she plays is natural. I also have a major problem with the way they treat POST PANDEMIC DOGS. Most of the puppies born through COVID have high separation anxiety and the hotel doesn't really care if the owner has needs for the pet I was told to fill out my dogs medication chart before boarding which I did in full, and when I picked up my dog from boarding all of her medication, treats, and toys , had not been used at all. She was returned with the wrong dog bowls, and the owners were rude when asked to return them. I was told to not bring dog bowls for boarding . However I expressed my dog is post pandemic and suffers from anxiety so the idea of eating out of a bowl not her own she doesn't do. So I labeled the bowls and was told on DROPOFF it was fine. However on pick up day - they were lost ( they gave me two random bowls) and proceed to tell me to not bring bowls for the future I am disappointed in this place because I had faith with some of the employees but overall 4 employees have been rude , and when I met the owner today, she was rude to me 5 seconds into convo. If the owner is rude to customers , then so won't her staff be.

Lois answers phones and also mans the front desk and is extraordinary with regard to attention to detail. She has my MVP vote and is the primary reason I am upgrading my review. She takes the time to understand what issue or concern you may have when you call, she takes actions to consult with the vets on your behalf and she will call you back with feedback you may need to make a decision regarding care or examination.
