Personal Experience with Pet Pals…read more A few years ago, I was walking some dogs at the Fells near the Winford Way entrance in Medford. While we were there, Dave -- the owner of Pet Pals -- approached me. He seemed upset that I was walking in that area, saying I "didn't understand" the rules and that it was his designated spot to walk dogs, implying that no one else was allowed there. I reminded him that it's public land and open to everyone. At that point, he became physically aggressive and pushed me twice -- the second time hard enough that I lost control of my dogs' leashes. He then ran toward my dogs and appeared to try to scatter them, so they'd run off. I called the police, who arrived, spoke with both of us, and said something along the lines of, "There are three sides to every story." I decided not to pursue it further at the time and just moved on. I recently came across Pet Pals again, and I felt people should have the full picture before deciding whether to use this company. This is my personal experience, shared in good faith so others can make their own decisions. Hopefully, others have had better luck with Dave, the owner of Pet Pals -- formerly based in Winchester and now operating out of Woburn, as far as I know.

They have terrible customer service. Every time you call the person answering the phone has zero…read moreanswers and says someone will call you back when they can, but then we never get a call back. They don't pay attention to the dogs well-being nearly enough, for example we have been leaving our puppy there and have told them that he is having diarrhea but every time we pick him up and ask if his poop was normal they says, "oh yeah, everything was fine" or "I don't know, I didn't work with him" and then when he gets home he continues to have diarrhea. They don't interact with their clients at all, at the end of the day they are just telling you what you need to hear to leave them alone. The only positive thing I can say is that our puppy comes home looking happy and he is tired from playing. Edit: 3 days after posting this review, instead of reaching out to me they called and tried to bully my fiancee into changing it deleting this review. Rather than addressing the issues she just denied any problems and ended up just making my fiancee upset.

She is so careful to only pair him with dogs that will accept him and play nice. He is super friendly 7 month old and can sometimes be annoying to other older dogs. She knows how to read these dogs and will not chance any sort of questionable behavior from the dogs. I can totally trust her with Max and know he will be in good hands. Jena has also been very responsive to emails and messages and is very helpful in arranging Max's walks. I highly recommend them!!

My experience at this establishment was highly disappointing even though I did receive a full…read morerefund, which was greatly appreciated and I felt was deserved. I entrusted my dog's grooming to an employee named Henry, whom I believe misled me regarding his capabilities. When giving specific instructions, Henry admitted he wasn't a professional groomer, but assured me he could handle the job even though I offered to pay a cancellation fee. He said he didn't want his time wasted and was very persistent that my dog get groomed. He said he would prep my dog for the certified groomer who would be doing the trim at the end. Upon picking up my dog, I was shocked and upset to find that she had received a full haircut instead of the requested trim, which was completely unsuitable for her breed (a woolly husky). The cut penetrated her undercoat which allows her to regulate temperature in the summer. Henry, rather than taking responsibility, argued that I had requested a haircut which was "appropriate for a husky", which is untrue. Fortunately, the groomer, Karyn, who understood the situation apologized sincerely. Upon closer inspection at home, I discovered that my dog still had matting, had a very uneven haircut, was unexpectedly covered in oil (which was not the case when I dropped her off), and her feet were still dirty,--issues Henry had claimed he would address but did not. Following my initial concerns, I had a phone call with the owner of the Dirty Doodle, which further highlighted their unprofessionalism and unwillingness to accept responsibility for the poor service. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this establishment, particularly for owners of long-haired dogs. It appears they may be better suited for grooming short-haired breeds. I had to get my dog groomed elsewhere same day.

A couple of hours at The Dirty Doodle was just what my beloved Goldendoodle needed after having…read moresurgery and a week of radiation (the various shaved areas for IV's and incisions were starting to grow in, and the rest of his nice hair was long), and I found them after searching for a place with GOOD reviews that could get him scheduled soon. I talked to Sarah (one of the groomers that shares space with them) and she completely understood the situation, as well as how "needy" he would be since every time he had been dropped off somewhere lately, surgery or something scary had happened. Sarah was able to schedule him in just a few days, I dropped the boy off first thing in the morning and he was definitely soothed by her calming personality. When I picked him up a couple of hours later, he looked terrific and wasn't as crazed as he usually is after he has been without me! Sarah is in a room by herself, so it was just a one-on-one with music, so he wasn't freaked out by a lot of dogs running around and barking. Sarah understood the situation of a sweet pup who is just getting older with medical issues (cancer and arthritis), and that made me feel so much better. Shannon met me at the door I was very excited to see her, everyone were so friendly & kind and made me feel so loved! Mom made another appointment with Emily, I can't wait!! This is mom my Daisy Grace is a every excited lab that weights a good 90lbs!!! Yes she is a little fluffy!! To some groomers they don't have the patience needed to handle her, so I would get her back not fully done, nails not trimmed or ears not cleaned ! Not at Four Paws they did a great job with her! This was our second grooming place, as she was too much for the first place we tried, and Linda's calm and kind demeanor worked it's magic!
