Make sure you bring water and don't bring your animal out if it's over 100° ended up stopping to give most of my water to a dog owner who decided to think it was smart to trail with an animal. Not a lot of shade. Fall winter and spring would be ideal weather for this area.

One of my favorite mountains to hike when I am short on time and want to get a nice workout in. Beautiful views and usually not that crowded.

Beautiful park with great views. Most of the trails are gravel but there is one paved path that leads up the mountain

Made it to the top!

This mountain and trailheads are amazing. I haven't been here in awhile since they've remodeled the trails and it's great. Easy access, ample parking and keeps your heart pumping. I love the area. Easy trails too.

Plenty of parking, great incline, few different trails to explore. Also, killer view at the top! I like how it's right by my house so whenever I'm feeling like I need to get out the house or get some steps in.... this will be my go to spot :)

Wonderful hike! Clean, safe, and your surrounded by like minded people who are pumped and eager for this morning hike. Everyone is super friendly and we all encourage each other with words of kindness and motivation. It's beautiful and pretty uplifting!

Great park for the family! There is a paved trail. If you desire a challenge, try trail 44. It's about 1 hour round trip. The trailhead begins in the Chechan parking lot. Not the avid hiker? There are lots of seating areas with barbeque grills. Great for private lunches or kid birthday parties. Several parking lots.

Park with easy access off N. 7th st and adequate parking(although I was a walkin). I just walked the 0.8 mile loop that does have excellent views of downtown and mountains. There are nice facilities including several picnic tables, toilets and well marked areas. However, they closed off many areas to visitors. Recommended.

My boyfriend and I came here for a sunrise hike, it's early November and was a little chilly so I recommend wearing long pants and a crew neck. Although, majority of the hike is completely vertical so that was pretty misleading and if you are a beginner it will be slightly harder, but not impossible. Half the trail is paved anyways. Just take your time and some water stops along the way and you'll be just fine. Once you get at the top, it's absolutely beautiful and totally worth it.

Went on my first hike of the year. This was also my first time hitting this trail. The views were pretty great. The trails lead in a few directions which is good for changing it up. Plenty of parking since it's probably not one of the more popular hiking destinations. The desert can be rather beautiful especially when the desert foliage is blooming. One small knock is that some of the paths can be a little sketchy with footing. This is the time of year you really need to get out and enjoy theses trails. Ramadas are available for a family outings as well. It's crazy close to downtown, so it's an easy cruise up the hill. Get off the couch and hike.

Nice little one mile hike. Makes for a good personal meditation slash work meeting with myself LOL also a good Valentine's Wknd hike.

I can always find parking at this mountain. That and it's close to my home and trails never crowded. That's why I prefer it. There is no driving around looking for a parking spot or navigating past so many people on the trail. Great views of north central!

Phoenix view.

Beautiful view of Phoenix and the surrounding area. A moderate hike, but bring lots of water and sunscreen. Part of the way is paved if you enter through North Mountain Park.

About 1.6 miles roundtrip from the Maricopa Ramada. Pretty cool little climb, but then you end up on a road heading to the summit. Near the top, you get to go offroad for a bit to the very top. You can see 7th St go all the way downtown. Total time up and back was 50:12. Pretty easy hike. This was my third of four mountains, one Saturday in April.

It was a beautiful view at the top! There was a bit of tricky steps going up, but it was all worth it in the end

Great place for some steep hikes. The parking lots are not the biggest but there are multiple lots so go earlier to avoid the parking issue.

In addition to Shaw Butte, this is my other "go to" training hike when I need something really close to my house.

It creates a beautiful environment that not many can experience outside of Arizona, and it is highly recommended to visit for anyone that is seeking a quiet, peaceful, calm, and beautiful setting with jaw dropping scenery. I went with one of my close friends and we both enjoyed the experience we shared. There were benches around to sit and admire the views, along with bridges to get a closer look at the koi fish and ducks. However, the best part was how many ducklings there were following their mamas. I had never seen anything like it, and it was truly an experience to remember.

I'd give the cleanliness and overall park quality a 10/10. There's something for all ages, and it's easy to spend a whole afternoon there. The train is definitely cute and fun for kids, but it's a bit overpriced at $5 per ticket, even for a one-year-old. Unfortunately, our experience with the train staff really took away from it. The woman taking tickets was extremely rude and didn't speak to us at all -- no hello, no eye contact, no thank you, nothing. It honestly felt like she didn't want to be there or interact with families. I was trying to make it a fun moment for my child by having them hand over the ticket, but they actually got scared and hid behind me. The woman selling the tickets, on the other hand, was very kind and welcoming. The park itself can also get very crowded, and we noticed older kids sometimes take over the younger kids' play areas, which can make it hard for little ones when there's roughhousing or inappropriate language. That's not really the park's fault, but it's something to be aware of if you have small children. Overall, it's definitely worth visiting at least once because it's a beautiful space with tons to do. I personally prefer smaller neighborhood parks for a calmer experience, but Anthem Community Park is great in terms of facilities. The biggest areas for improvement would be crowd management in the play areas and better, more family-friendly staffing for the train.

We've had some bad experiences with wasp infested splash pads lately but this one was not bad at all, I think I saw one flying around. Definitely a good amount of shading here, making it nice for the summer. My son had a lot of fun and this park was super clean and not overly crowded. Would definitely recommend and will come back again,
