This is a great park for kids, dogs, workouts and frisbee golf! There is a small parking lot but you can also park on the street. There is a nice big, covered seating area for grilling and eating. There are also restrooms and a large playground for kids! In addition to disc golf, there are also workout stations dispersed along the walking path. Lots of shade and amenities to take advantage of- opt outside!

Doesn't capture the depth but these large patches are everywhere.

Another owner of a dog off the leash. The dog attacked another dog that was ON a leash. It's just a continuation of the Parks n Rec inability to get control of this. Put up more signs? Maybe? A park ranger giving citations? Maybe? But do something. Put in a dog space, protecting kids, other dogs on a leash would be a great idea.

This is a fun, 9 hole city course. The rows of olive trees make it more difficult then it would otherwise be, and provide an enjoyable challenge. Today I got one disc stuck in a tree on the 3rd hole, but it was easy to retrieve with a fallen branch I found. The course could use some maintenance as a few holes at the end were missing their tee box information placards. This made it a little difficult for a first timer to navigate. The 9th hole also made me play hesitantly because of a full parking lot on the left side. Other than those two small things, I really enjoyed myself. I will be here quite a bit now that the weather is changing.

This park is suuper close to our house, we walk here all the time and play disc golf here once a week. The course is awesome! Short but challenging with lots of tree obstacles. Everyone we have met here has been super friendly. Sometimes it can get a little crowded on the weekends but people are super happy to scoot out of the way to let us play. Our dog loves to run in the grass here- by far my favorite neighborhood park!

Los Olivos Park is great, they have two playgrounds- one for the older kids and another for the younger. The restroom is located close to the playground (thank the playground Gods) and there are two volleyball courts not far from there. The park is full of olive trees and it has a pretty awesome disk golf course. In the evening it is lit and there is always someone utilizing the different aspects of the park. The only thing it is missing is a splashpad and maybe a little more shade for the swings.

Neat park, lots of olive trees, space to run around. Great playground. Two structures for older and younger kids. Two sets of swings. Downside is lots of sand. Was not busy on Monday morning.

Ask the Community - Los Olivos Park

What is the rule about 'Dogs On Leash' policy and what are the consequences of having a dog off the leash?

Well, Phoenix claims that they enforce the leash laws, but we see lose dogs at parks all the time. The law states that a dogs should be on a leash no longer than six feet and under direct control when off the owner's property. Dogs must be leashed…

    Are pets allowed?

Yes, but they need to be on leash!

So when I was visiting my friend in Phoenix, she wanted to take me to one of her favorites, Encanto Park. Of course, the name immediately made me think of the Disney movie, so naturally we played the Encanto soundtrack all the way there! Unfortunately, we picked a particularly brutal day to visit because it was a blistering 110° in Phoenix. Needless to say, our visit was a pretty quick lap around the park! It was beautiful and appeared to be fairly well maintained and clean. I was curious about why the water was SO green, though. I'm not sure if that's typical or just a result of the heat. There wasn't a whole lot happening while we were there, which wasn't surprising given the temperature. Even Enchanted Island, the amusement park attached to Encanto Park, wasn't open yet because of the heat. One thing I absolutely loved was the drum circle. I could have stood there and watched for quite a while, but we knew we couldn't stay outside for too long in that heat, so we moved along. Overall, the park looked beautifully maintained and fairly clean. I definitely think this would be a great place to hang out, explore, or spend the day on a much more reasonable-temperature day. I'd love to come back when it's not 110° because I have a feeling there's a lot more to experience here than we were able to see during our very hot and very quick visit!

You have a number of paved walkways zigzagging through some very nice landscaping with lots of palm trees, an island and a bunch of picnic tables, and crossing over a number of canals and lakes. A big parking lot makes for easy access too.

We've had some bad experiences with wasp infested splash pads lately but this one was not bad at all, I think I saw one flying around. Definitely a good amount of shading here, making it nice for the summer. My son had a lot of fun and this park was super clean and not overly crowded. I'd give the cleanliness and overall park quality a 10/10. There's something for all ages, and it's easy to spend a whole afternoon there. The train is definitely cute and fun for kids, but it's a bit overpriced at $5 per ticket, even for a one-year-old. Unfortunately, our experience with the train staff really took away from it. The woman taking tickets was extremely rude and didn't speak to us at all -- no hello, no eye contact, no thank you, nothing. It honestly felt like she didn't want to be there or interact with families. I was trying to make it a fun moment for my child by having them hand over the ticket, but they actually got scared and hid behind me. The woman selling the tickets, on the other hand, was very kind and welcoming. The park itself can also get very crowded, and we noticed older kids sometimes take over the younger kids' play areas, which can make it hard for little ones when there's roughhousing or inappropriate language. That's not really the park's fault, but it's something to be aware of if you have small children. Overall, it's definitely worth visiting at least once because it's a beautiful space with tons to do. I personally prefer smaller neighborhood parks for a calmer experience, but Anthem Community Park is great in terms of facilities. The biggest areas for improvement would be crowd management in the play areas and better, more family-friendly staffing for the train.
