    Waterfall near cool bridge
    Andrew C.

My wife Blanca and I love our community park here in Anthem! Everything green, a few bodies of water with waterfalls and ducks, a nice bridge near one waterfall, plenty of sports facilities like basketball, soccer, baseball, football, or whatever else you want to play for the most part. Plenty of empty space too just to relax and take a load off. It also has two playgrounds. One exclusive for small children like toddlers which is nice. Another for bigger small kids with plenty to climb on and investigate, complete with a nice splash pad. They often have free concerts and other activities going on. Also, a train that runs through part of the park. A tunnel the train goes through is always decked out for the Season like Halloween and Christmas. It's slow but fun and perfect for younger kids and families. Come check it out sometime! They'll have a Autumnfest Arts and Crafts Fair on October 26th & 27th this year.

Great Park!! Checked in with our God Son and God Daughter today at the park. Our God Son is playing Club Soccer for Yavapai County and we met up with them and their Mom. Soccer game was great! He played awesome! The park is so beautiful and great facilities. Ball fields, soccer fields, Water park and lake. For sure would like to go back and check it all out, looks like a really great place!!

This is a great local park to visit when you've got kids in tow; there's lots for them to see and do. Tip: There's a Farmer's Market that's held here on Sundays; you might want to plan you visits accordingly. Activities available here include a good number of play areas, and even a splash pad!  There's also a miniature train that runs on the weekends. Whether or not you've got kids in tow, this is a nice place to take a stroll or have a picnic :-)

Amazing park! Great for all activities. It's very large play structure for kids and adults. Roller hockey arena, skate park, memorial, and much more. There is a train that runs on certain days, so check the website beforehand to plan your visit. There were a couple people fishing the ponds but fairly empty for the most part. Good selection of local eateries nearby, to grab takeout and enjoy in the park. I would not recommend walking to get food, as the road is 4 lanes and very busy. The veterans memorial is a beautiful and reflective place. It is set away from the play areas, surrounded by grassy lawn for lounging. Really a beautiful spot. Our visit was for some family activity. Highly recommended.

Love anthem park! There's different events happening. Like there's a carnival during fall time and there's a firework show on June 3rd which is beautiful! Also they have a baseball field, volleyball nets, splash pad, a train, ducks in the pond, & so much open space just to walk around. It's so big! This park is beautiful!

Absolutely Beautiful park! Very clean. Kids rode the train! There is a three story playground. There is a small splash pad and a toddler play ground. Several mini lakes, fishing spots, waterfalls and areas to play sports!! Encountered some nasty mouthed mother's cussing us out over our kids and her kids calling each other names (retard) she made sure to make it a point to come drop F bombs in front of the rest of our kids and harassing us about it. Great way to show your kids how to behave. Cussing out us and our kids all under 12..‍

Love coming here early in the morning before the big kids run over the little kids. Went on the train today and noticed in the tunnel where the train is stored and drives through, that there are 2 cans of fuel and no fire extinguishers. I would say it's an oversight, but the last 4 weeks that we have come here, it's been the same. Science says this is a recipe for combustion. Please make the appropriate safety changes for the community.

    playground without wood chips

This playground has a lot of everything: a splash pad, sand area, playground for big & small kids, a train, bathrooms, open field, skate park, and shaded picnic tables.

This is a beautiful park with well kept grounds. There's a train ride for kids and adults that goes around the park and takes about 20 minutes for a small fee. The train and a short tunnel are decorated at Christmas time. There's concessions, fishing, kids big adventure playground, basketball courts, hockey, skate boarding, and Anthem Veterans Memorial monument.

It has probably been ten years since I was last at this park -- mostly because I live on the opposite end of the Valley, but I still remember hiking the Go John Trail from twice that long ago. (Back then, we didn't have Internet-based recommendation systems or online trail guides, so we relied on books or the maps provided at the ranger stations.) That trail is no joke and the climb was a bit of a surprise as it has roughly 849 ft of elevation gain with some 10-15% grades over the course of nearly 6 miles. The elevation gain means some really nice desert views. I was here this time for a trail race, which is not run by the park, but we used the facilities and trails, which were well maintained and amazing to run on. I had a family of deer run across the trail about 100 yds in front of me on the home stretch of the race. I recommend all of the Maricopa County Parks and this one is no exception: each one has its own character and they're all worth visiting.

Parking was easy, and I appreciated the clean, convenient restrooms at the trailhead. That said, I do think the trail is slightly misrated. While it's listed as easy, the rocky footing and a few stretches with noticeable incline push it more into easy-moderate territory. It's absolutely doable, but hikers should be prepared for uneven terrain and some effort, especially if they're expecting a flat stroll. I brought my walking stick, and I'm glad I did. Overall, this is a beautiful, well-kept trail and a great way to experience Cave Creek Regional Park. With a more accurate difficulty rating, it would be a near-perfect hike.

But honestly, it's worth every step! Just when you think you've reached the falls... you haven't. Keep going! The road in is pure washboard -- about 13 miles of bump city -- so make sure you have a 4-wheel drive and that nothing inside your car is loose. Fossil Creek is absolutely stunning, and bonus -- no permit needed after October 1st. The other thing says this trail is easy. No, it's not to be careful if you're taking somebody elderly over that doesn't have good mobility because there's some rocks you had a climb and what not also make sure you take plenty of water to drink and a little snack everything you pack in your pack. I would also suggest leaving the house by three 330. No later you don't wanna be hiking in the pitch dark.

I wish I knew more before going. I need to know more information about how things work at Fossil Creek. Even after going, though we enjoyed ourselves, I still don't know how it works. There were no signs telling you where you can access trails to get to the creek. You just had to guess. I found a trail at our Homestead parking lot, but it was very steep and a little dangerous. We found a spot okay in the shade but was very small for our party of 6. We worked so hard getting down there that we just made it work. After leaving we went up the road a little way in our vehicle to see what the other spots looked like, but I saw no bridge or easy access from The Bridge parking lot either, and the road was just way too bumpy. I hope my wife's suspension is okay on her Mazda CX-5. The information before going should've told us about the road and what to expect, basically how to plan. It's all a guessing game. I could've asked the Ranger lady more questions, but I didn't know what to ask. My boss made things sound different. Apparently you can't drive people to the waterfall trailhead anymore. You have to walk over 2 miles on a dusty dirt road in over 100 degrees with vehicles driving by kicking up dust. That makes no sense whatsoever. We enjoyed our time at the water. Everything else leading up to it and after it we could've done without. I don't see us coming back unless we have someone with better suspension and/or better knowledge of the area. Thank you.
