I would give the food a 4/5, the service a 4/5, but the cleanliness of the place a 3/5 and that is important for me. We are always looking for a place that has great down home breakfast food and this place has the potential, and the prices are very reasonable. However, there are a few things that need to happen to make this place cleaner and more up to date.

First time at this place for breakfast. It was packed. Waited a couple of minutes for a table. They keep the coffee in your cup full.( great coffee service- waitress gave us ice water with our coffee ) We didn't ask . Nice touch in my book. Big potions for breakfast. I ordered the Denver omelltte , husband had the traditional breakfast. Eggs , bacon, hash browns and homemade biscuits. He had to help me finish my breakfast. They have Coke cola products !! ( coke cola fan) Photos on the wall for sale. Our server, Kevin was great. You pay the bill in the back . When I was paying the bill. They had a waiting list to be seated. ( Yes, it's that good!!!) We will be back to check out for lunch. Free WiFi- just ask your server for the password.

I'm not exactly sure why this is even a diner. The biscuits and gravy were frozen biscuits covered in a canned or powdered gravy with weird little square pieces of "sausage". I mean, seriously, the same thing you would get complimentary at 2 Star hotel. The bacon was not sliced thick bacon. Again, it looked like the pre cooked stuff in the box. The coffee was about equal to what I make at home with Folgers. When you walk by cooler you can plainly see they use a big gallon jug of Prairie Farms OJ and just pour it in a glass for you. The waitress was nice and kept filling up the coffee. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Hardee's at least has fresh biscuits and it costs less. The restrooms were clean, but looked run down and possibly remodeled by a blind man. Lol Just saying...

Yup taste as bad as it looks.....

In addition to the sweet treats, one of the highlights of stopping by and even driving by, is reading their marque. The messages are always, witty or supportive of another local business. I love it when local supports local. Recently, I had a Chocolate Covered Strawberry concrete and I liked it more than my typical favorite M&M concrete. The chocolate ice cream with flakes of solid chocolate and pieces of strawberry made my day. I've also enjoyed, chocolate and vanilla twist cones, but the orange sherbet and vanilla is still my favorite. I keep saying, I need to try their burgers, so I'll say it again. I gotta try their burgers. The restaurant has a nostalgic look and feel. The staff is young high school and college students and they're always friendly. They truly hustle and make things happen for their ice cream fans. Next time you're in Edwardsville, be sure to make a stop at Northside Dairy Haven.

Burger was excellent for the price. Ice cream was good soft serve. Service was kind and my food came out in about 10min. Kids were running around and family's were happily chowing down. It's a great old fashioned atmosphere. If you drive past this place, it's time to finally make the stop! Little hiccup: kids cone is 1.50 on the board but I was charged 2$. So check your receipt if you're pinching pennies.

My cousins who would join me at Bigelo's on occasion, have already been and recommended I check it out. It was lunch time, so I opted for an order of wings and hand-cut fries. Beer is my drink of choice when enjoying wings and it also gave me an opportunity to try the self-serve taps. It was a winning lunch. My wings were crispy and meaty and came with both Bleu Cheese and Ranch dips. I'm not a dipper when it comes to wings, but that is a nice touch. The fries, are house-cut and still had the skins on. Nice! They too, were prepared crisp the way a fry should be. The self-serve beer taps had a nice variety and were easy to operate. During my visit I sat at the bar and it provided me with great conversations with not only the bartender, but other diners who were quite entertaining. I'll definitely will be back, since I've been I have heard the salads and pizza are really good.

I also loved the atmosphere, upscale food without feeling stuffy or pretentious. It felt like the kind of place you could walk into dressed casually and still enjoy an amazing dining experience. From the moment we sat down, our waitress was fantastic. Since it was our first time visiting, we were welcomed with complimentary deviled eggs, which were absolutely delicious. And the cocktails? Perfectly crafted and easily some of the best we've had in a while. We're already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for helping make our anniversary feel so special!

It's one of a very few places in the area that isn't a chain, isn't just burgers and pizza, and also isn't pretentious or overpriced. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. We've been there at least ten times and only once was the service slow. It was an anomaly because they're usually really on top of things. Ambiance is a friendly, but upscaled downtown cafe/bar place that is perfect for taking out-of-towners or a fun brunch with the ladies. (They have a separate brunch menu on Saturdays!) I don't drink, so I can't comment on their drink selections. I'm taking away a star because the parking situation is annoying, especially during construction. There is street parking or a huge parking lot in the back. However, the back parking lot is a terrible hodgepodge of concrete and asphalt and a gazillion potholes and no super clear direction on how to get to the restaurant. Some signage would go a long way in helping customers to not only find parking, but once parked, to them navigate back to the little crevice where the back door is located. The back porch is located behind a larger portion of the structure and you can't see it from the parking lot. Additionally, if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues, it's next-to-impossible to park near enough to the door to make a difference. The handicapped parking spots are 40 yards away from the back door. All that said, we will def go back because there's nothing else like it in the area.
