I drove my relatively new Mercedes to work on Saturday and for some reason the sucker did not want to start when I went to leave. I had no desire to pay some ridiculous tow fee to take the car literally 4 miles to my mechanic. So, I called every single tow company that serviced Danville and luckily I found North Main Tow. They were seriously like HALF the price of what everyone else quoted me. HALF!!! AND even better, they charged my card right there on the phone for an exact price so there was no "Oh, well we told you it would be X but it's now Y" as they have your car hostage on the back of their truck. The driver, AJ, said he would be there in 40 minutes, and EXACTLY 40 minutes later, Literally to the minute! AJ was very courteous, polite, efficient, and worked clean. He easily and efficiently loaded the car and went above and beyond to do a great job. I can honestly say that they are the best tow company I have ever dealt with. It's the middle of the night, pouring rain, I am pregnant and I need to pee and we are broken down at the entrance to a freeway. Needless to say, we are in a dangerous situation. I called for tow service and not only was the guy rude and arrogant, he told me that the next city over was out of the company's service area. We are less than 9 miles from home. And to add insult to injury he asks: 1. What's wrong with your car? a. Well if we knew the answer to that we wouldn't be on the side of the road now would we? Had my car towed after breaking down and serviced through A&A Auto (same company as North Main Towing) - while the car was so thrashed that it wasn't worth having them fix they were very responsive and friendly. When they determined how damaged it was they stopped working on it immediately and waited for me to make a decision - they understood that dropping thousands in a car that has a lower blue book than it would cost to fix would be ridiculous. I had already approved one repair and they could have done it and stuck me with a $1300 bill and a broken car but they took the care and time to explain it all to me. I really feel that AJ, specifically, treated me with respect and advised me as if we were good friends. AJ even made sure I was taken care of when I decided to not fix it and have it towed back to me. AJ was a complete jacka**! The company is rude, unprofessional and downright illegal. AJ dented my car and took no responsibility for it. He cursed at me and threatened to hit me. I am filing a police report. What a rude jerk. He said "i know where you live" when I said I would tell his boss about it. Aviod like the plague!! Crooked liars! My girlfriend and I purchased a promotional coupon from this business from a person they hired to outsource promotional sales. It was valid until 2015. We needed a refund for the coupon because her car required a specific type of synthetic oil other than what the promotion was for. She called the company and explianed what had happened and they seemed very supportive and expressed genuine concern and stated that they WOULD get the money refunded to her. Days go by, not a word. We call again. They NOW say that that offer is no longer valid and that they wouldnt even honor it anyway. They gave an address to write a "letter" to ask for a refund from the person they hired to sell the coupons... (a letter? Get real, thats like sending a letter to santa clause) We called this person repeatedly with no answer or return call. I called the business again in search for the owner or manager that could provide me with more information and help. I was convinced that this was some sort of mistake and they would take care of us. Not the case... Another week goes by no return calls. I called AGAIN, and spoke with a woman who claimed to be the manager. She said that she was "busy" and couldnt return my call for over a week. She said she didn't authorize the sale of that promotion and she would take no legal responsibility for it. I then asked for help pursuing the party they hired to represent their business if in fact that was the truth and again they gave me an address to write a letter to to ask for a refund. What a joke. I am now filing a compliant with department of consumer affairs and leaving this review here to help warn other people in hopes that they dont get swindled by these people. I have yet to hear anything back even after calling back again myself. I spoke to a dispatcher and she said the manager wasn't in and had me give her my info. YET AGAIN no signs of any managers calling me. I call back myself for the 3rd time myself today and spoke to someone who neither identified themselves at dispatch or the manager because when I asked for the manager the lady on the phone asked what I wanted after I ask that. When I told her my situation she simply asked "well did you file an insurance claim?" And took no responsibility and didn't even bother digging deeper into this situation. I have video evidence from my job, of my car being towed with my door looking fine and paper evidence with the driver not notating the new dent damages. Couldn't be happier! My car would not start and after having two car dudes look at it and neither of them knowing what the dealy-o was, I decided I need to get it towed to a shop. Went to A&A Auto Repair today for my oil change and it was a good experience. The shop is very clean and appears to have newer lifts. I walked in a little after 8 am to get my oil change and I was supposedly third in line. Apparently the two person in line had dropped off their car, so they took my car immediately! I was very happy! :) They got me in and out within 30 mins. They even let me walk around my car to check the underside (probably something good to do). To me they were very friendly and I appreciated that. FYI - they huge Havoline Oil with Champ filters. Not my preferred but it is what it is. Plus i work for Chevron so got to use their product sometimes :) Lastly, i did use their coupon that they offered in the mail but it's only good for 5 quarts. My car takes 6.5 quarts + i have a cartridge filter. So those were extra. Paid a little $30 more than I had expected but it's still the ballpark that I had expected. read more

I've used them a few times now, and every time has been great. One time I had two cars to tow, and the guy was able to take both cars in one trip! That was awesome. I also had them tow my girlfriend's car, which had a missing wheel on the front driver's side (long story short, the car was stolen and the thief was switching the wheels out and messed up the threading for the lug nuts to screw on). Jason was able to tow it without any problems. He did a great job. Originally, AAA sent out Concord Tow World to pick up the car, and two different drivers from that company refused to take the car because they didn't "want to be held responsible for any damage." So I said screw Concord Tow World! North Main Tow is light years beyond them. I definitely recommend Jason from North Main Tow. He was nice and did the work without any complaints at all (unlike Johnny from Concord Tow World!). read more

My tire blew out on 680S right before the 4 exit. Called the insurance company and they recommended this place. A service truck came to replace my blown out tire with a spare I had, but that tire was messed up as well and he ended up having to call for an actual tow truck. The service truck fee was waived and I just had to pay for the tow. The service truck guy even went to the shop to get my spare checked out to see if he could fix it. Both service truck and two truck guys were really nice and not at all creepy which is a major plus. If god forbid you get stuck on the side of the road I would definitely recommend these guys. read more

Mon. morning of last week I was unfortunate enough to find my car's battery dead when I went into my garage to leave for exercise class. A call to AAA resulted in a call back to me from North Main Tow within 5 minutes saying that they were on their way and would arrive at my house in 5-10 minutes. Andrew arrived 5 minutes later and cheerfully and efficiently replaced my dead battery with a new one......all within 20 minutes of arrival time. To simple sum up my experience. Two years ago, they did a timing belt, head gasket, water pump, etc. repair at a cost of close to 3k. and now, 20k miles later, the head gasket is failing and has to be replaced. I've talked to a bunch of different mechanics and they all agree the whoever did the work put in a cheap quality head gasket. The massive markup on the item in the bill hid this fact, Two statements sum up my experience. 1) Massive markup on parts 2) I have to have another mechanic repeat the work because of the low quality part used. They gave me a reasonable quote for my tow but when he arrived, he wasn't willing to work with us. He gave grief about everything and was very impatient - I simply think that he blew us off as he wasn't in the mood to drive 80 miles. So instead I paid $150 for what was roughly a 8 mile tow. We had a great experience with Mark at North Main Tow. My mother got a flat tire on the freeway, right where 24 turns into 680, literally, so trying to change the tire was too dangerous. It was a Sunday night, so it was an 1 1/2 hours until someone could get out there, so I went and picked my mom up. Mark gave us a call to ask if we left the keys at the truck, but we didn't know to, and the dispatcher didn't say to. He was in the area so he offered to come to our house to pick up the keys, no extra charge. He was soo nice! I actually called them before reading yelp reviews, but read them after I called and we were waiting, so I got kind of scared. Mark made the whole experience not so bad!
