Spent nearly $10k on fixing my truck last year coming back month after month. Faulty parts, one fix caused another problem, always something new, and conveniently I always had to pay for the visit. Guess what...it ended up dying anyways a month after the least "fix". Now my jeep is acting up again, conveniently, right after the warranty on parts is expired! I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. When you buy a Jeep everyone tells you to go only to Jeep specialists.. I feel very safe to say North county auto service are now my Jeep specialists. My Jeep had been going into limp mode traction control lights coming on and had begun to overheat.. 2 separate things at the same time! Rex took my Jeep beast in 110$ full diagnostic (waived, if you have the work done there) They were able to get the Jeep in that morning and we got an estimate within a few hours. Original quote was over 800$ on the low end.. over heating was a leaky thermostat.. limp mode was a sensor... Took 2 tries to get the right sensor, but Rex didn't give up, and nailed it! Jeep no longer revs high, she sounds beautiful.. a weird engine noise has gone completely.. In total the final cost was just over 700$... That's less then the original quote!! With my business being closed due to covid shut down.. I was quite worried about bringing my Wrangler in at all.. However now she's better then ever and ready to get off grid again! Once again, Mike, Rex and the North County Auto Service team came through for us. Our 2013 Infinity JX35 AC compressor failed, and the dealership wanted over $2k for a replacement! So I called my friends at NCAS, Mike and Rex, we get a quote fo much less then 1/2 of that price, including the OEM compressor for that vehicle. The work was done in less than a day, fully repaired, and working to spec. As usual, Rex and Mike treated us like family, and their team did excellent work. NCAS has taken on many jobs for us over the years for both classic cars and contemporary, and they have never disappointed us. I worked with Rex both times I've interacted with North County Auto Service. This body shop is as honest as it gets. The second time I called, I was actually educated further on my car's issue from a diagnostic test and was not pressured to proceed with the suggested repairs. Left the option up to me and let me know what the risks were (in this case it was just a strut boot, previous place suggested i replace the entire strut!) Made an online appointment thru their website on June 25th for an oil change at 11 am on June 29th. Got multiple texts and 1 email confirming the appointment. I show up early and am told that they do not do oil changes after 9 am. WTF??? Guy basically said the online appointments don't work. They had days to figure that out and call me to either change or cancel me out. Guess it was too much trouble. Here is the kicker. I have a warranty contract with RepairPal, which they are a part of. They would have locked in a new repeating customer for 5 years. Now all they have is this lousy Yelp to remember me by. Adios NCAS. Won't ever make that mistake again. I called every jeep service dealershi and many non jeep and FINALLY found this place. I was lucky enough to speak with Mike the owner and told him I've never had a tune up or brake job since I bought the jeep. I asked to have many things fixed and Mike said they would test them before replacing them and come to find d out what I wanted fixed didn't need to be fixed but my brakes and rotors were dangerously low. I could technically say he saved my life but, I'm thankful they find the problems that need to be fixed rather replace what I think needs to when what I thought was fine. There's not much worse than needing auto service hundreds (400 miles in my case) from home where you don't know a soul. My check engine light came on in my 2015 Toyota on a Monday. I could not get a service appointment with Toyota until Wednesday and I was leaving Oceanside on Thursday so really needed something Tuesday. I called North County Tuesday at 8 am and Rex said if I get it there by 9:00, they would check it. By 1:00, they identified the sensor that needed replaced and the car was ready by 4:00. I had a follow-up text from Mike to make sure all was ok. BTW, I initially found them on aaa.com as a AAA-approved site then looked on yelp for the dealers that had at least 1 4 rating. I took their advice on what they would recommend taking care of, as this was a 120K maintenance appointment and some of their recommendations had either not been done or it had been some time since it was done.
