My moms car needed a tune up so we took it here because a friend of my moms recommended us. She had taken her cars here for 7 years so we were like we'll check it out. Best decision we made. I could have done all the work on the car because I don't trust anyone to touch the cars but I had a busy schedule around that time. So we set up and appointment and dropped it off and it was great. Everything went great! It was a no BS kind of place and they don't try and scam you for crap that doesn't need fixing. Changes our brake pads and the whole nine yards and everything seemed to be really smooth. Encinitas Ford quoted me $1,700 to pull and troubleshoot my transfer case. They also offered to just replace it for $2,600. Took my truck to Victor and he discovered the issue was with the wiring and fixed my truck for $250! We are now taking all our cars to Victor! read more

Courteous, willing and able to discuss issues, has never pushed service or parts upgrades and timely every time. I hesitated to write this review waiting over a week now for the promised call from Victor to see if my car was still under warranty or if he could get used parts which is what he told me when I brought my car in for service on my brakes. I was told that my Master Cylinder needed changing along with the brake job. The estimate was approximately $3,000. I drive a 2014 Toyota Prius. Not a Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini, BMW(which I previously owned), etc. To date, I have not received a call?? About a year ago a friend of a friend who has been a long time customer referred me here. I had just purchased my 2nd hand Prius which was in excellent condition when I bought it. I took it in to Dion to have a general look over and all was good. Since I have only been in for oil changes and another check before I took a cross country drive last year, all has been good. Had not been in for any major repairs. Once I received this quote I started talking to friends and family. The first persons I spoke with, the husband thought that was a way too high price quote and was concerned. I called my dad who is a retired auto mechanic and he hit the roof! He asked me if I was told this with a "straight face". My father prided himself on doing excellent auto repairs and car body work and NOT ever cheating women, having 5 daughters himself. He was known in our small town for his honesty, integrity, excellent workmanship and NOT taking advantage of women. Long story short, my landlady's nephew had a look at my brakes and said that one of my pads looked low. I took my car in to another referred place. They confirmed the low brake pad, service needed on my brakes, and gave me an estimate of around $670. Because it took less time to repair than the computer estimated and they were able to get NEW(not used) parts at a good deal, my total cost: parts, labor and taxes was $439. I asked before the diagnostic for them to check my Master Cylinder at the request of my dad. The service repairman was kind enough to draw me a visual of what my Master Cylinder looked like and how it works. He said, "your master cylinder is in excellent condition. All oils should flow freely, ... and so forth and so on. Your fluids are flowing beautifully." It was only my brake pads, etc. that needed attention. I then asked, "If I were to have my Master Cylinder replaced, in addition to the brake job, what would you estimate that to be?" I was told around $1,000-$1,200 if that. Imagine my shock and surprise! I know that the COVID-19 scare has put a lot of businesses in great financial stress and dire straits. However, price gouging and lying is not a way to maintain an otherwise excellent reputation. I know when I was first referred here I was told that it was a "bit pricey" but good service. Well this goes way beyond a "bit pricey". I also believe that a person's word is their bond. If you say you are going to make contact, then have the common courtesy and decency to follow up. Not sure why this happened as I found Victor and his staff to be quite pleasant people. All I can say is I hope he is repentant of this incident for future customers. Sadly, he has lost me as one. I will just say Lord, forgive him for he cannot possibly fully realize what he has done. read more

After a brtually hot round trip from Oceanside, CA to Gunnison, CO, my 03 Honda CRV A/C was no longer COOLING! I returned to DION, where Victor, the owner, quickly worked me into his extant workload, analyzed the problem, recharged the freon, and had me back on the road in less than 90 minutes! Since neighbors suggested DION Auto Service some months ago, I've taken both our CRVs there for maintenance with 5 STAR service (and price) every time. Hands down this is one of the BEST shop that I've ever had. The owner Victor is extremely helpful and honest. I have taken my cars to the dealership to only get the run around and quoted triple the price to fix my daughters car. But Dion's Automotive fixed it for a 4th of what the dealership tried to charge me. I can always trust and rest assured that if Victor says the car needs XYZ then it's just that and not something else. He also goes above and beyond for his customers to ensure the cars are fixed right. Not to mention that he was on the way home the last time, but waited so we could pick up the car. Nothing is ever a bother to him and he is extremely patient. I love that he doesn't make stuff up that truly isn't there just to make a buck.
