I met Dion over 25 years ago. He was very honest & fair. He worked on every car we owned until he moved on and Victor took over. Victor was also honest, reliable & fair. When we had a "check engine" light come on recently on one of our vehicles, we took it in. Was surprised that "Dion's" had changed ownership. The truck was not well maintained, I knew it needed some other work. AC worked. Not well but worked. Spent almost $3000 on some miscellaneous work but turned down the AC repairs. When we got truck back AC did not work at all. read more

He's maintain my 05 Escalade worked on my BMW X5 and he has been a lifesaver in terms of the maintenance on my 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL 550. I wouldn't take my vehicles to any other mechanic, other than Victor And Dion's Automotive great company great customer service. Great mechanic. read more

My moms car needed a tune up so we took it here because a friend of my moms recommended us. She had taken her cars here for 7 years so we were like we'll check it out. Best decision we made. I could have done all the work on the car because I don't trust anyone to touch the cars but I had a busy schedule around that time. So we set up and appointment and dropped it off and it was great. Everything went great! It was a no BS kind of place and they don't try and scam you for crap that doesn't need fixing. Changes our brake pads and the whole nine yards and everything seemed to be really smooth. Loved the no BS, we appreciated it and I have recommended this place to my girlfriends family and everyone else I know. 10/10. read more

Have been going here for years. Brakes felt soft. Yep I needed brakes. Half the price of the dealer Dropped it of in the morning picked it up after lunch. read more

My whole family had been taking our cars here for years! Victor is amazing thorough and honest which seems harder and harder to come by. He always explains exactly what he's doing and will tell me what he suggests doing vs what actually NEEDS to be done. Never pressures to do extra stuff which I appreciate to no end. We took my moms car to the dealer because it was still under warranty, and they called us three times pressuring us to change the cabin filter. I almost forgot what this is like as I've never ever had this kind of BS pulled at Dion's. Easy to work with - great communication. Victor always tries to solve the problem before resorting to an expensive repair. He has been helping me get my smog check done for years by helping doing a quick reset while another mechanic told me the only way was to replace my entire catalytic converter. Thank you to Victor and the Dion team! read more

They are EXTRAORDINARY! Always a pleasant visit, and very fair pricing. They are very thorough. I used to go to my dad's mechanic and I didn't like the way I felt after. This is a very refreshing change. Thank you! read more

Encinitas Ford quoted me $1,700 to pull and troubleshoot my transfer case. They also offered to just replace it for $2,600. Took my truck to Victor and he discovered the issue was with the wiring and fixed my truck for $250! We are now taking all our cars to Victor! read more

I've been here for all maintenance sans brakes and oil changes and have been happy with all aspects of service. Courteous, willing and able to discuss issues, has never pushed service or parts upgrades and timely every time. Dion's does require you to make a call and discuss what needs to be done and turn around time. read more

I hesitated to write this review waiting over a week now for the promised call from Victor to see if my car was still under warranty or if he could get used parts which is what he told me when I brought my car in for service on my brakes. I was told that my Master Cylinder needed changing along with the brake job. The estimate was approximately $3,000. I drive a 2014 Toyota Prius. Not a Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini, BMW(which I previously owned), etc. To date, I have not received a call?? About a year ago a friend of a friend who has been a long time customer referred me here. I had just purchased my 2nd hand Prius which was in excellent condition when I bought it. I took it in to Dion to have a general look over and all was good. Since I have only been in for oil changes and another check before I took a cross country drive last year, all has been good. Had not been in for any major repairs. Once I received this quote I started talking to friends and family. The first persons I spoke with, the husband thought that was a way too high price quote and was concerned. I called my dad who is a retired auto mechanic and he hit the roof! He asked me if I was told this with a "straight face". My father prided himself on doing excellent auto repairs and car body work and NOT ever cheating women, having 5 daughters himself. He was known in our small town for his honesty, integrity, excellent workmanship and NOT taking advantage of women. Long story short, my landlady's nephew had a look at my brakes and said that one of my pads looked low. I took my car in to another referred place. They confirmed the low brake pad, service needed on my brakes, and gave me an estimate of around $670. Because it took less time to repair than the computer estimated and they were able to get NEW(not used) parts at a good deal, my total cost: parts, labor and taxes was $439. I asked before the diagnostic for them to check my Master Cylinder at the request of my dad. The service repairman was kind enough to draw me a visual of what my Master Cylinder looked like and how it works. He said, "your master cylinder is in excellent condition. All oils should flow freely, ... and so forth and so on. Your fluids are flowing beautifully." It was only my brake pads, etc. that needed attention. I then asked, "If I were to have my Master Cylinder replaced, in addition to the brake job, what would you estimate that to be?" I was told around $1,000-$1,200 if that. Imagine my shock and surprise! I know that the COVID-19 scare has put a lot of businesses in great financial stress and dire straits. However, price gouging and lying is not a way to maintain an otherwise excellent reputation. I know when I was first referred here I was told that it was a "bit pricey" but good service. Well this goes way beyond a "bit pricey". I also believe that a person's word is their bond. If you say you are going to make contact, then have the common courtesy and decency to follow up. Not sure why this happened as I found Victor and his staff to be quite pleasant people. All I can say is I hope he is repentant of this incident for future customers. Sadly, he has lost me as one. I will just say Lord, forgive him for he cannot possibly fully realize what he has done. read more

Victor is a stand up family man/business owner. I am a single mom of two and he treats my kids safety with our vehicles, as if they were his own! He assisted me in getting an awesome Toyota Camri for my 16-year-old and for myself and 3-year-old, a safe Volvo station wagon. Not one single time have I ever questioned his pricing and he is pretty accommodating when it comes to appointments! Love Dion's Auto. read more

The best mechanic shop you'll ever find. The owner, Victor, is very honest and personable. It's been 3 years since I've had to bring my car in and he still remembered me! He's always looking out for his customers and doing whatever he can to keep costs down. He works super hard & at a great speed. I wouldn't trust my car in another shops hands. read more

I've been going to Dion Auto for several years because they are excellent mechanics at a very fair price! In addition, they recently went above and beyond for my family on a difficult electrical problem one of our cars was having; and this car needed to leave for the Midwest to drive my son back to college. The problem was elusive, and frustrating, but Victor and his team never quit (and never charges us extra for dozens of additional labor hours). One evening I received an update call at 9:30pm, well after their closing at 6pm! In a nutshell, they are the VERY BEST! And they put my families safety ahead of all else... Thank you Dion Auto!! read more

DION AUTO SERVICE, OCEANSIDE, CA consistently offers 5 STAR service promptly, very professionally, and a fair and resonable price. After a brtually hot round trip from Oceanside, CA to Gunnison, CO, my 03 Honda CRV A/C was no longer COOLING! I returned to DION, where Victor, the owner, quickly worked me into his extant workload, analyzed the problem, recharged the freon, and had me back on the road in less than 90 minutes! Since neighbors suggested DION Auto Service some months ago, I've taken both our CRVs there for maintenance with 5 STAR service (and price) every time. AC problems with Honda CRVs are rare; too often, however, those who service them UPSELL A/C compressors, etc...even when unneeded. Not DION, and not VICTOR. All I needed was a freon gas recharge, and that's all I got. Charge: under $100 and GREAT OUTCOME! Chevy, in Oceanside, CA read more

Hands down this is one of the BEST shop that I've ever had. The owner Victor is extremely helpful and honest. I have taken my cars to the dealership to only get the run around and quoted triple the price to fix my daughters car. But Dion's Automotive fixed it for a 4th of what the dealership tried to charge me. I can always trust and rest assured that if Victor says the car needs XYZ then it's just that and not something else. He also goes above and beyond for his customers to ensure the cars are fixed right. Not to mention that he was on the way home the last time, but waited so we could pick up the car. Nothing is ever a bother to him and he is extremely patient. I love that he doesn't make stuff up that truly isn't there just to make a buck. For example, my break light was out, he said it was just the light bulb and nothing major. He did NOT even charge me to put it in. I will ALWAYS bring my cars to Dion's Automotive. Including oil changes and anything to do with our cars. read more
