My maint needed light was on. we took our 3 cars here for years. I called @ 440 pm & they were willing to take me on a Friday night. I preferred to go in @ 9 am Saturday morning. They were fine with that, no pressure. I was there a bit early & Jesus was kind enough to come out & get me, let me in while he opened the shop. This place is BAD NEWS!! I talked to Jonathan and made an appointment and no one was there.(I am a repeat customer) A mechanic a few doors down said he use to rent space from him and ripped him a new one. Said he is always in the bathroom(weird) never comes to work , his work is subpar and the place has not been the same since his wife stopped working there. This place is awesome. Called 4 other places and none would take LKQ customer purchased/supplied parts (but they will happily buy them for you $++). I knew the dealer book called for over 3.5 hrs labor @ $250 ($850+) but actually takes less than 2hrs... Here $225!! WOW- this great!! When we called they were very nice. Service: Engine repair My husband, son, and I have been going to Jonathan at Oceanside Automotive Specialists for 6+ years, and WERE very happy with the service. In late January, the engine, with @ 46,000 miles on it, that Jonathan put into my son's car, stopped working in Paso Robles. The engine was still under warranty, so we took it back to Jonathan. Long story, short, when we finally got the car back in MID-MAY, we found that the 46,000 mile engine I paid for had been replaced with an engine with 138,000 miles! Needless to say, we feel cheated and won't be going back to Oceanside Automotive Specialists again, unless the 138,000 mile engine fails again during the 6 month warranty he gave us on this one. read more

AN HONEST MECHANIC Tony from Tony's Auto Body shop in Ocsd referred me to Jonathan at "Oceanside Auto Specialists" for rotor problem because he said he was honest. I knew Tony was, so I went there. I'm an older woman, and a perfect target for the unscrupulous. My introduction to the shop was Emily. She was so helpful, and the office was immaculate. Jonathan, the owner, gave me an estimate of $150 -$250, depending on whether he had to resurface or repair the 2 front rotors. I left the car with him. When he called at 5 the same day, he said he had resufraced them and charged me $150. I would never have known the difference if he had changed them or not. The mechanics are fair, upfront and transparent about everything, and they DO NOT make up unnecessary maintenance to draw more business as some other establishments are known for. Following each inspection, they provide a documented full review of repairs itemized from top to bottom in order of importance. They are very thorough in their explanation of repairs and the most fair in pricing quotes out of any other repair shop I have ever dealt with. International Automotive is servicemember friendly and very caring about their customers. The location is ideal, they have a very nice setup inside and always offer accommodations while you wait for repairs. Friendly and helpful staff. Brought in our 87 4Runner (Project Car) to get the front axles replaced. Repairs were done fast and they also recognized the idler arm needed to be replaced.
